The chapel is consecrated to the saints Rochus and Sebastian and owes its existence to an oath which the people of Nova Levante made during the plague in 1635/36. However, the chapel was only built between 1662 and 1666 and inaugurated in 1697. The long space of time between the oath and the chapel's completion was due to the fact that the people of Nova Levante were in disagreement over the location. The chapel is a building with a round apse, barrel vault and low-arch windows. Inside, there are several altars, the pulpit, sculptures and paintings - Baroque works from the 17th Century.
The chapel is not open to the public. The key for the chapel is available at the Romantikhotel Post Weisses Rössl in Nova Levante.
Crafts
In my work, I combine traditional craft techniques such as crochet, macramé, weaving, punch needle, and tufting with modern aesthetic principles to create unique pieces that are both functional and artistic.
Unique Approach
When my hands start knotting, crocheting, or weaving an energy of mindfulness emerges. I create textile artistry – for spaces, people, and the soul. Style, quality, and sustainability are particularly important in my studio.
Each handmade product is one of a kind, focusing on form, aesthetics, sustainability, and durability, as well as individuality and identity. My creations are not just handmade; I also offer personalized custom designs to transform special ideas or wishes into unique items with character and history.
Production Process
It is my mission to make textile handcrafts modern again and to revive the creative integrity of this art form. Art and craft should harmonize, as envisioned by the Arts and Crafts Movement.
Techniques
Crochet: unique fashion statements with modern crocheted headbands made from merino wool in various designs.
Macramé: from stylish pillowcases and life trees to functional items like yoga straps, lanterns, and keychains.
Punch Needle & Tufting: rugs, decorative wall hangings, and textile artworks such as seat cushions.
Weaving: mandalas crafted as serene wall art through thoughtful colour combinations and the use of diverse yarns and wool.
Products
wall hangings with symbolic meaning (Tree of Life, Flower of Life, dreamcatchers, rainbows, geometric symbols).
contemporary wall art.
interior decor (plant hangers, lanterns, decorative cushions, table runners).
modern merino wool headbands in various designs and vintage-style crocheted hats.
accessories (wallets, coasters, keychains).
baby gifts as lucky charms
Materials
Sustainably produced, ethically sourced materials are indispensable to me, whether regionally produced or recycled yarns or 100% Oeko-Tex certified. Only when I feel absolutely confident about my materials can I work with a clear conscience.
Workshops and courses
With passion, I share my knowledge through workshops, offering important insights into materials, preparation, posture and design. I aim to make participants feel how therapeutic textile handcrafts can be. The tactile creative process brings a sense of calm and meditative tranquility.
Inspiration
I am drawn to the beautiful, aesthetic, and mystical aspects of life: I find inspiration in art exhibitions, architecture, interior design, and fashion. I love capturing impressions with my camera and incorporating them into my creations.
As a textile artist, my work revolves around the experience of creative artistry, combining various textile techniques with sustainably high-quality materials and a modern way of thinking and living.
At the Oberbrunnhof in Quadrat, Caroline Abler and Manuel Laimer sell home-made products and substantial delicacies. Both attach great importance to quality and rarity and have dared to take the step towards self-sufficiency for the sake of agriculture. The farm is home to cows (Tyrolean grey cattle), pigs and chickens. The animals are processed and refined by Manuel himself: in addition to fresh meat there is also home-made Speck. The milk is delivered to the "Sennerei Algund" dairy. The Oberbrunnhof's range of products is expanded with the traditional Paarlbrot from the wood-fired oven (every Saturday; on order). Delicious jams, honey and homemade cheese complete the range. Caroline and Manuel provide their guests with healthy, home-made products directly from the farm.
"Griasst enk, we are Caroline & Manuel!"
Caroline Abler grew up on the Niederhof farm and has worked on her parents' farm since she was a child. Her father taught her traditional Tyrolean cuisine and her mother taught her "Kropfn mochen" (making Krapfen - jam doughnuts) according to her grandmother's secret recipe.
Her path then led her to enter the hotel and restaurant industry for the first time, until she met her future husband Manuel Laimer and moved in with him to Oberbrunnhof.
Manuel took over his grandmother's farm at the age of 18 and has been cultivating it with great diligence ever since. Gradually, he worked hard to adapt and renovate the farm to the current conditions. For example, the "old" holiday home, which once belonged to the Oberbrunnhof farm, was rebuilt in 2017. Caroline and Manuel have been offering farm holidays since 2018, because they consider it important for them to combine agriculture and tourism.
Together with their three children Leo, Leni and Michl there is always something to do at the Oberbrunnhof. Once a week the tasks are clearly divided: Manuel bakes bread with the help of a family member and Caroline makes and bakes the farmers' doughnuts that are sold. In winter Manuel uses the time to make sausages and in summer Caroline transforms the fruit into delicious spreads and syrups. The products of Oberbrunnhof are produced with great care and love and guarantee freshness, regionality and quality.

The St. Valentin church surrounded by meadows and fields, with the Schlern massif in the background, the small church of St. Valentin offers a real idyllic scene. The construction is of great historical and artistic value with precious frescos from the 14th and the 15th century. A peculiarity (among others): the painter has tried to include the local landscape as background in its representation of the three Kings.

The octagonal construction was built according to a project by Giuseppe Delai between 1729 and 1733, on the site of an older chapel. Matthäus Günther of Augsburg realised both the main altarpiece and the frescoes of the vaulted ceiling, which depict St. Elisabeth and St. George, the protectors of the Teutonic Order. The walls and vaulted ceiling are embellished with the rich and extraordinarily refined stucco decorations by Anton Gigl of Innsbruck. The church can be visited along the H. Multscher and City Museum.

Schmidt becomes SCHMIEDL
Lana's village bakery is now called SCHMIEDL and is run by Johannes, Tobias and Greta. The young generation builds on over 100 years of experience and brings a fresh look and many new ideas to the bakery. SCHMIEDL relies on high-quality, natural ingredients, traditional craftsmanship and long dough processes. "Our most important ingredient is time," says master baker Johannes, "it makes our baked goods easy to digest and gives them their unique taste." Around 200 recipes are used in the SCHMIEDL bakery. A good portion of these are the carefully mixed pre-doughs, which together with the natural yeasts in the form of Lievito Madre and sourdough make the baked goods juicier, longer lasting and even tastier.
