    Toboggan run in Spiluck
    Vahrn/Varna, Brixen/Bressanone and environs

The village Spiluck above Brixen is known for its numerous hiking trails and lonely peaks especially in Summer. In Winter you find Spiluck as a cozy place for a trip in the snow. Spiluck offers snowy forests with beautiful mountain scenery. Whether by toboggan or on foot, the toboggan run in Spiluck guarantees a great day out. Especially in the early morning the sun shines through the forest and until midday it warms not only the body but also the mind.

This idyllic winter hike starts at the hikers' parking lot at the end of Spiluck Street. From the parking lot above the Gostnerhof Inn, you start along trail no. 2 through the forest. You will immediately notice that the winter hiking trail is also wonderfully suitable for a toboggan run due to its perfectly maintained condition. Again and again you catch fantastic views of the Plose, the Geisler peaks and even the Langkofel and Plattkofel peaks. After about one and a half to two hours you reach the end of the trail below the Scheibenberg mountain, where the peak of the Karspitz towers above the woods in its white dress.

After a well-deserved break with your own snack, you can look forward to an exciting but above all rewarding descent on the toboggan. Always leisurely downhill, but also with faster sections, nothing stands in the way of fun on the toboggan. Of course, you can also walk back to the starting point. Directly at the parking lot, the Gostnerhof Inn invites you to stop and reward yourself with a hot tea, a typical “Marende” or lunch. There are other places to stop in the village center of Spiluck.

    S. Giacomo Legend Trail
S.Crestina Gherdëina/Santa Cristina Val Gardana, Dolomites Region Val Gardena

According to the legend, a young local inhabitant, Count Jakob von Stetteneck, let it build in the middle of the woods in gratitude for coming back alive from Santiago de Compostela. He dedicated it to Saint Jakob, the protector of all hikers.

Tradition holds that the S. Giacomo church is the oldest one of the whole valley, since its own origin goes back to the 12th century. In historic-artistic terms, its Gothic frescos in the presbytery and the paintings from the 16th century near the pulpit, which represent scenes of the legend, are valuable and unique.

    Weisskugeltrail
Graun im Vinschgau/Curon Venosta, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
In the shadow of the Weißkugel, you head to the Weißkugel Hut and return to Melag via a small section of the Langtauferer High Trail. The first part is rather flat and perfect for warming up. From the Melager Alm, it gradually becomes steeper, and you follow the glacier educational trail towards the Weißkugel Hut – always with the best view of the glaciers of the Weißkugel group. Once you have reached the Weißkugel Hut, you follow the narrow high trail (some surefootedness required) downstream, with no more altitude meters to overcome. Soon you reach the stream coming from the Weißseejoch and first follow a trail, then a forest road back to the small mountain village of Melag.

    Trail f | Truden - Schwarzhorn - Jochgrimm
    The South Tyrolean Wine Road

This challenging hike from Truden via the Schwarzhorn and all the way to the Jochgrimm is a unique adventure. From Truden, you'll first proceed uphill to Kaltenbrunn (refreshment stop and access to public transportation). From here, you can then proceed to the famous "Ice Holes" – an unusual phenomenon where cold air streams out of holes in the ground even on the hottest days of summer. You will then proceed steadily uphill via the challenging "Leitensteig" staircase until you come to the Kugeljoch; from this pass, you have a magnificent panoramic view of the Fleims Valley. From the Kugeljoch, you will continue to the Schwarzhorn (2,439 meters above sea-level). Finally, you follow the descending path to the Jochgrimm, the goal of this tour. A wonderful training route on the south side of the Langtauferer Valley. Due to the orientation, this route, despite its altitude, is often runnable early in the year. From the starting point in Graun, the first kilometer leads somewhat steeper uphill. Soon, however, it becomes flatter, and you follow the trails and forest roads further into the valley. Most of the time, you head towards Melag on a comfortably runnable incline. Short sections also go downhill now and then, inviting you to catch your breath. At the Piengalm, after about 14 km, you can stock up on food and drinks before the high-altitude trail climbs slightly again towards Bergkastel. Now you have almost completed all the altitude meters and continue across the border to Italy to the Plamort rock. The downhill is rewarded with a fantastic view of Lake Reschen.
