Traffic restrictions in South Tyrol

From mid-September 2024, a number of important traffic routes in and to South Tyrol will undergo partial closures, which may affect your journey. If you plan to travel on the Reschenpass road, on the Lueg bridge on the Austrian side of the Brenner motorway, or on the Val Pusteria railway between Fortezza and Brunico, we recommend that you consult our updates regularly.

Campsites in South Tyrol

In South Tyrol you'll find the campsite that suits you best, whether you're on holiday in a camper van, tent or motor home. The small, family campgrounds are dotted with campsites that offer a wide range of wellness and family activities. There is plenty on offer in terms of flexibility and adventure programmes.

Pitches in South Tyrolean cities

You can park your motor home at the following sites. The car parks have no electricity and public toilets.

 

Pfarrhofstrasse - across from the cemetery: sewage disposal possible, 4 km from the town centre (accessible by bus lines no.110-10A-10B).

Sarntalerstrasse - at the valley station of the cable car Jenesien: 2.5 km from the city center (reachable with bus lines nr.12-14)

Triesterstrasse - next to the Bolzano Lido (open-air swimming pool) and the Drusus stadium: for an hourly fee on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, on Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (blue parking spaces) and free of charge at other times; white parking spaces can only be used by residents at the above-mentioned times, approx. 1 km from the city centre (accessible with bus lines no.2-3-4-6)

In Bolzano there is also a campsite with electricity and the sewage disposal facilities:

In addition to the two campsites in Merano, there is a camper van site during the Advent season in the Schießstandstrasse (entrance to Schwimmbadstrasse), entrance from 9 am to 8 pm (pedestrian gate for exit/entrance open 24 hours a day), €25.00 per night.

South Tyrol's transport network combines city and intercity lines. Bus and train schedules are carefully coordinated so that valleys and smaller towns are easily accessible.
