    Dolomites. Symphony of Photography
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
Majestic, breathtaking and uniquely beautiful, the Dolomites are a work of art created by nature. The Pale Mountains will be the focus of an exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of the Südtirol Festival Merano. Inspired by the stone heart of the world, composer Rachel Portman, photo designer Ursula Stingel and photographer Georg Tappeiner have created a symphony of images and music. Four aerial photographs by Georg Tappeiner reveal archaic views of the mighty Dolomites, while four macro photographs by Ursula Stingel offer a glimpse of their smallest segments. Inspired by these images, Oscar-winning Rachel Portman has created a musical tribute to the Dolomites commissioned by the Südtirol Festival Merano. The exhibition will also feature other photographs by Ursula Stingel and Georg Tappeiner, also dedicated to images of the Dolomites, which will be on display to the public for the first time. Jacopo Benassi, Alessandro Di Giampietro
    Brixen/Bressanone, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
Jacopo Benassi MAKE WAR NO LOVE Make war. Don't make love. Break. Destroy. Hate. Sweetness is useless. The flowers are on strike and the skies are brown. There are no photos—without images, perhaps we will return to thinking! Even love. Performance: They're not bombs! It's just a drum kit! Michele Lombardelli and Jacopo Benassi have been collaborating for several years, bringing sound into the image through the audience. Alessandro Di Giampietro ECHOS FOR A FORGOTTEN SELF Alessandro Di Giampietro (Pescara, 1972), whose research stems from the observation of human identity understood as a set of layers that create iconic behavioral models in today's society. The installation provides an overview starting from a selection of ‘chewed’ Polaroids (2009/2011). These are portraits of figures from the world of contemporary art whose identity changes according to the artist's interventions, which involve tearing and stitching the images. The theme of identity shift is found in “Chewed Plastic” (2022-2025) made of transparent PVC, painted on the back, cut and reassembled with metal staples. Here, the archetypal masks, as in the case of the Rivelate, become stereotypes: they allude to facial plastic surgery, they have scars, they show wounds that have never healed linked to the non-acceptance of identity, they are characterized by a chromatic saturation that corresponds to an expansion of the ego in the current domain of appearance. The installation concludes with a series of documentary videos of performances, where masking becomes liberating. (from: Whatever you think I’m that’s what I am not. 2014/2019). Chromatic Alterations
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
The photographic project by Viviana Perghem and Camilla Poli was developed in collaboration with painter Italo Bressan, creating a synergy between photography and painting. Opening: Friday 12/09/2025 – 6pm – In-depth analysis of the artistic journey with art historian and curator Federico Mazzonelli. The photographers chose to document the different forms of colour blindness — visual anomalies mainly due to genetic causes — which involve an alteration in colour perception. The photographic work analyses the three main types of colour blindness: ● Protanopia (insensitivity to red) ● Deuteranopia (insensitivity to green) ● Tritanopia (insensitivity to blue, purple and yellow) The stories of six people affected by these conditions are told through images that describe their daily lives. Photographic post-production techniques are used to simulate the perception of colours by those affected by colour blindness.

    LA MODA INTORNO AL MONDO
    Toblach/Dobbiaco, Dolomites Region 3 Zinnen
In my long career as a fashion photographer, travel has always been a fundamental and exciting part of my work. I’ve worked in many different places—from Peru to Australia, the United States to India—facing challenges like high altitudes, difficult weather conditions, and unusual means of transport. With my team—comprising stylists, models, and assistants—I have always tried to tell stories of fashion through unique landscapes and cities. This exhibition, hosted at the Hans Glauber Library in Toblach, presents a selection of my photographs that not only showcase fashion but also share the adventures I experienced during my travels. I am happy to share my work with the public and hope that the exhibition will entertain and inspire all who visit. — Giovanni Lunardi

Exhibition "PLEASE, COULD YOU STOP THE NOISE?" by Maurizio Ciancia
Sëlva/Selva di Val Gardena, Dolomites Region Val Gardena
The exhibition reflects the current phase of Maurizio Ciancia’s artistic work since 2016. The theme of his work is the personal search for “emptiness,” understood as an intimate dimension where one can find order, balance, and silence – practically a counterpoint to the excesses of everyday life. To express this concept of emptiness, Ciancia uses the metaphor of space. The subjects of his photographs are therefore architectural contexts, reproduced through a precise linguistic scheme that has taken shape over the years in the development of this project. The exhibition space itself plays an important role. The clean lines create an ideal context for presenting the works and support the linguistic intention of creating a unique installation framework in which the visitor can feel physically immersed. A space that represents an extension of the idea of space that Maurizio Ciancia intends to share with his photographs. The generous rooms have also made it possible to integrate a small selection of works from the early stages of this creative period, installations from 2017. The aim is to share the evolution of vision and language that has taken place over these years – from the beginning until today. The ground floor features works created between 2020 and 2023, while the first floor is entirely dedicated to works produced in 2025. The prints are by Stefano Ciol. The exhibition also includes a corner dedicated to the projection of a video created as part of “Narrazioni Spaziali,” an event organized by MAKE Spazio Espositivo and exhibited at Studio GEZA Architettura. The sequence of images is accompanied by sound compositions by Luca Colussi. Opening hours: Daily from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Closed on Mondays

    Exhibition: Boom '70
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
"Boom '70" takes you back to a time of upheaval and economic growth in South Tyrol during the 1970s and 1980s. Modern travelers now arrive by car, reaching even more remote regions. The number of overnight stays explodes, rising from ten to twenty million – mass tourism is here. In the exhibition, contemporary witnesses share stories of the clash between contrasting worlds: industry meets tourism, poverty meets prosperity, church meets bikini. It’s about first encounters with strangers, new roles for women, and friendships across borders – but also about stress, construction frenzy, and tough working conditions.
