What would hiking in South Tyrol be without traditional Brettlmarende meat and cheese spreads? South Tyrol has almost 200 Alpine farms and mountain huts, located between 300 and 2,000 m above sea level, serving these fantastic snacks. Huts feature fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the lush valley floor. Wherever there are huts and farms, delicious food is never far away – from Seiser Alm’s high plateau, to the Hirzer or Salten mountains or anywhere in South Tyrol where hiking trails exist. Auer Leger Alm is at 1872 m between the Lavazé Pass and Oclini Pass. In the winter, we invite you after a cross-country skiing tour or a toboggan day one at a refreshment. In this known Almrestaurant we spoil you with regional delicacies Tyrolean style, game specialties and traditional "Strauben". In the summer there are various delicacies except to observe our petting zoo and live the lush grazing cattle have the option. Gurndin family also owns several purebred St. Bernard dogs that have already brought many eyes will amaze you. Both in winter and in summer we offer sleigh rides with horses. Hot food from 11:30 a.m. to 03:00 p.m.

The hut is just five minutes on foot from the Saltria bus stop and 100 metres from the valley station of the Florian chair lift, which is in operation both in summer and in winter. During the winter season, the ski slope leads directly to the hut.

Starting point: valley head Ridanna – Masseria (1.417m) The starting point for this hike is the valley head of Ridanna. Follow the trail no. 28 over a wide path, past the ore processing facility of the mine. The signs to the Stadlalm lead through the beautiful forest of the Lazzacher valley. At the fork turn right to the mountain pasture Stadlalm. Alternative 1: reachable also over the nature trail of the Mining Museum. Alternative 2: circuit cross the panoramic platform Hoher Nock with a 360° panorama view

Hmmm, what a wonderful food fragrance touches my nose? I smell the warm sweetness of the potatoes and the spice smoked bacon. This mixture is refined, only just picked fresh alpine herbs and already on my plate! Appetite to get our Tyrolean Geröstl, or can it would rather be a freshly baked apple pie? The food on our mountain hut of Mahlknechthütte is very tasty and all meals are prepared with love.
