    Guided tours
    The St. Nikolaus Church
    Ritten/Renon, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
Short guided tour in German/Italian with Eveline Bellutti. Meeting point: at the church in Mittelberg. Duration: 20 minutes, Cost: € 2. The St. Nikolaus church in Mittelberg is first mentioned in 1289. This church was enlarged in the gothic style in 1400 and has kept its appearance from that time. The tower is somewhat later than the church and was probably built in the 14th Century. It is made of natural stones laid in regular patterns. Possibly in 1400 the upper levels were altered to the gothic style and the existing windows date from that period. In 1744 a rather large onion dome was added. It does not fit the building but is still quite pleasing. In 1976, during the restoration of the church and the tower, the Romanesque masonry was discovered. In this phase of restoration also came to light a large cycle of medieval frescoes that reproduce scenes of the passion of the Lord, the twelve apostles and prophets

Free medical consultancy on phone with Dr. Di Spazio
    Prettau/Predoi, Ahrntal/Valle Aurina
Respiratory problems? Pollen allergies? Asthma? Long-Covid?

Dr. Di Spazio will inform you how the Climate Gallery Prettau can bring you relief.

Free medical consultancy on phone with Dr. di Spazio, expert on speleotherapy, from Monday to Saturday, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the following mobile number: +39 347 9440182.

During the months of May and June, Dr. Di Spazio is in Ahrntal valley / Prettau every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and offers personal consultancy by appointment.

Cave therapy, known by the technical term of “speleotherapy”, helps relieve chronic and recurring respiratory ailments and is a feature of complementary medicine. As in damp caves, the relative humidity in the climate gallery is close to saturation. Suspended particles and allergens in the air are thus bound together and deposited on the wet rock walls. The gallery therefore contains very pure air. When this cold air (8-10°C) is inhaled it is warmed to the body’s temperature of 37°C. The warmer the air, the more water vapour it can absorb. The gallery air can thus extract water from the mucous membranes on its path through the respiratory system, reducing swelling of the breathing structure and allowing those with respiratory problems to breathe more freely. Visits to the climate gallery are entirely free of side effects.

Information on tickets of the climate gallery is available on: +39 0474 654298

La musa leggera - Operetta / Musical / Show
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
The Light Muse celebrates its silver wedding anniversary with the Theatre of Smiles and, on its behalf, I would like to greet old, new and very new friends to whom we joyfully offer this first autumn/winter 2023 review, certain of offering three months of lightness, quality and authentic theatrical magic in the sign of Lightness. We begin with the traditional operetta and the most popular and 'centenary' title of the small opera, the Paese dei Campanelli, as always with a large orchestra in the auditorium. And then we come to the big musical with three productions that are fascinating in their diversity: Da Vinci by Lisa (the rock musical about Leonardo Da Vinci and Lisa, the Mona Lisa), another new theatrical invention by Fulvio Crivello; a great new edition of My Fair Lady, with the Queen of musical comedy Serena Autieri, who returns to Bolzano by popular acclaim; and Alice in Wonderland, a delightful and immortal fantasy spell in a flamboyant, spectacular guise, a Christmas present for the whole family. But in between you will find two unmissable evenings devoted to the most extroverted entertainment, with the sharp cabaret of Raul Cremona and the resounding bravura of Emanuela Aureli. So the best wishes to our audience are in order: welcome back to the theatre in the arms of the Musa Leggera!

EWA DOROSZENKO, JACEK DOROSZENKO - Impossible Horizon
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
In their latest works (photographs, sound installations, photographic objects, videos), the Doroszenko duo deals with a classic theme in art - landscape. The works were created during artistic residencies in Kunstnarhuset Messen Ålvik (Norway), The Island Resignified LeQada (Greece), Klaipeda Culture Communication Center (Lithuania), and in Warsaw, as part of the Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. To better understand the causes of the current environmental crisis, the artists look at the history of the Western tradition of landscape painting, in which the concept of natural landscape was defined according to the dominant worldview - as a detached component, outside the subject. In their works, Ewa and Jacek Doroszenko aim to question the separation between the issue - the observer - and the separated environment. A significant element of the Doroszenko duo’s artistic practice is to treat sound phenomena as a full- fledged element in the field of visual art and to emphasize the importance of “deep listening” in everyday life. Accordingly, the artists are interested in the landscape’s holistic experience, which is impossible without the acoustic factor. In their mixed-media projects, the artists explore how digital images, and the latest technologies mediate the perception of the natural world. Fascinated by modern information tools and their immense potential for shaping lifestyles, Ewa and Jacek Doroszenko attempt to capture the atmosphere of the physical yet virtual present. Looking at the textures of landscapes - both natural and simulated - the artists highlight the role of photography in navigating the current world. Using Google Street View, popular computer games, travel guides and other online sources, the artists examine how contemporary digital culture is changing the perception of the landscape. Their works focus on the positive impact of the landscape on human psychological well-being. As residents of Warsaw who regularly experience urban “noise pollution”, they know the need to popularize “soundscape ecology” - the science of acoustic relationships between living organisms, human and otherwise, and their environment. Referring to this therapeutic function of landscape, they present works that subtly reveal the inseparable connection between man and his natural surroundings.

    Double Trouble
    Brixen/Bressanone, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
Double Trouble means double trouble. A promising title. A title does not stand alone, but is always an indication of the content of the program or, in this case, the exhibition. We can therefore look forward to an exciting and exciting exhibition. In which two artists, Julia Frank & Karin Welponer, meet, perhaps also two views of art. But certainly a deep examination of the work of the person in question. The core of Julia Frank's contribution is an approximately 10-minute video portrait about Karin Welponer. In terms of content, Julia Frank describes this work as a narrative journey that begins in the past and extends to the present. Karin Welponer's multi-part photo works also have key points or cores. These are “tree fragments” or “tree details”. Here the artist declares visible injuries and their healing, as well as overgrowths, to be works of art. Seen in this way, this exhibition is a hike, perhaps even a journey, that plays with changes, inversions and allusions. Julia Frank's iconic coat stand by the Thonet brothers is alienated and changed, its original purpose and form removed and filled with new content and new form. Here too, a starting point and a reference to the tree pictures and the milled wooden objects by Karin Welponer. These are, among other things, shapes created by bark beetles. The paths of the bark beetles, which mean certain death for a weakened tree, are declared a beautiful form, a work of art. Accordingly, Double Trouble is actually a fine discussion and a “complementation” with the work and the opinions of the other person. Trouble also stands for the word worry. Double worry. The exhibition can perhaps also be read as a careful and careful interaction and relationship.

    GEOGRAPHY OF LOOKING
    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
Working group: Milica Tomić (artist) with Ana Bezić (archaeologist) Ar/Ge Kunst is honoured to commission a new work by the artist Milica Tomić, a major artistic voice of the last 30 years. Milica Tomić positions the site, specifically soil (both what it contains and what it sustains), as the crucial and active agent in the process of knowledge formation. Looking at the soil as an archive, Tomić uses what appears as material evidence to ponder invisible issues, revealing how nature, agriculture, property regulations and everyday life are continuously written and narrated into a place. The artistic act is in looking for an appearance of a Political Subject—the viewer—in the soil-as-archive. In this way, the work that will be presented at Ar/Ge Kunst comes to speak of the continuities and discontinuities of any political truth. Milica Tomić (1960) explores different genres and methods that centre on investigating, unearthing and bringing to public debate issues related to territories, political violence, resistance and social amnesia. Her projects often explore a multitude of unorthodox ways in which art can be created, performed, transformed and pondered. Tomić is a founding member of a New Yugoslav art/theory group, Grupa Spomenik [Monument Group, 2002]; in 2010, Tomic conceived and initiated an educational platform, Four Faces of Omarska. Ana Bezić (1974) is an archaeological scholar with a background in anthropology and critical studies. Her research explores the intersection, transposition and ethical implications of material culture in art, cultural heritage, science and archaeology. She is a member of a New Yugoslav art/theory group, Grupa Spomenik [Monument Group, 2002]. Curated by Zasha Colah and Francesca Verga.

    Bolzano/Bozen, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
From 7 May 2023 to 24 February 2024 the Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare presents I Have to Think About It, the first Italian retrospective exhibition of the Argentinean artist David Lamelas (Buenos Aires, 1946). Author of one of the most fascinating artistic researches with a conceptual imprint dating back to the end of the 1960s, Lamelas' practice ranges from installation to sculpture, drawing, photography, film, video, sound and textual works that address the defining contexts and conditions of our perceptions and cognitions. His is an art, more often than not, made of almost nothing. The exhibition, curated by Andrea Viliani with Eva Brioschi, develops in space across all the floors of the Fondazione and extends in time over several months. Throughout, the show takes on different configurations and activates comparisons with a selection of works from the Fondazione’s collection. Some of the artist's key historical works will be presented together with new productions and a programme of live events. Opening: Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11.00 AM. The visit to the Foundation is possible without reservation on Saturday from 9.30 AM to 7.30 PM. Every Saturday at 11 AM the foundation offers a free guided tour.
