Knödel (Dumpling) festival at Sterzing / Vipiteno

Sterzing/Vipiteno, Sterzing/Vipiteno and environs

Knödel, round dumplings, both savoury and sweet, are among South Tyrol's most popular culinary specialities and take centre stage in this festival taking place at Vipiteno/Sterzing in September. Savoury varieties are usually made from white bread kneaded with other ingredients and include Speck-Knödel, cheese gnocchi, spinach dumplings, while dumplings with apricots in the centre (Marillen-Knödel), strawberry and plum 'Knödel' are among the seductive dessert specialities. Of course the feasting will accompanied by entertainment including traditional Tyrolean music by local bands. Knödel spiecialities can be tasted in selected restaurants the week before and after the festival.

Summer Classics with the duo "Brass ensemble Philomousia"

Summer Classics: Classic concert with "Brass ensemble Philomousia" in the Culture House in Seis am Schlern. The brass ensemble Philomousia was founded in 2005 and has since performed regularly in a variety of formations, from a trio to an extended brass ensemble. The dilettantes (in the literal sense) are particularly keen to cultivate and disseminate classical harmony music. The repertoire ranges from original pre-classical works to typical arrangements of important operas and symphonies from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century for this instrumentation. Othmar Trenner was the ensemble's musical director for ten years, and Manfred Egger has been in charge since 2023.

Golden³Dolomites: MTB tours to the pastures of Sexten/Sesto

Start from the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten in the direction of Sexten, then slightly uphill to Mitterberg and on to Nemes Alm. After about 20 minutes we reach a plateau called "Saumad" (1.750 ) where we turn left to the Klammbach-Alm (1.940). Also here we are challenged again to enjoy after approx. 30 minutes at the Almhütte the dreamlike view of the Three Peaks. Arrived at the Klammbach hut, we take a break and enjoy the "Schmankerln" by Hannes, then when Leon briefly unpacks his accordion then the mood is perfect. Passing the "Hennstoll" and via the Sesto circular trail we return to Sesto to the Bike Academy Sesto Dolomites.

From Truden, we first hike along a partly tarmac and partly paved small road and along a forest path, which is only moderately uphill and partly flat, to the meadows of the Cisloner Almen and the restaurant. Here we can stop for a bite to eat. The way back leads through the forest, across a larch meadow to a first crossroads and then on a nice level path to another crossroads with the "Jägerkreuz". From here we return to Truden via a forest path or footpath. Elevation gain: 340 metres Walking time: 3 hours Difficulty: moderately difficult hike

Sunrise hike on mount Sciliar with breakfast at the Schlernhaus mountain refuge

If you hadn’t realised it before, when the first rays of sun timidly appear on the surrounding peaks you will see just how much it was worth getting up so early. A sunrise mountain tour on the Schlern mountain is a very special experience. A shuttle bus will take you to the Saltner Tschapit hut, where the ascent begins. Equipped with headlamps, you will arrive at Monte Petz (2,564 m) at around 6:50, in perfect time for the sunrise. After this natural spectacle, a well-earned breakfast awaits you at the Schlernhaus mountain refuge, also known as the “castle in the mountains”. Jun con la roda - Easy excursion

Get in the saddle with the instructors of the Bike School for an easy excursion on the slopes surrounding San Vigilio, from where you can enjoy the extraordinary autumn views, brightly colored by the foliage.
The route will take you along less-frequented roads, where you will discover old houses and historic farms, built in the traditional Ladin style.
To enjoy the experience at its best, and to make it accessible to everyone, we ask you to use an electric bike.

Bring your own e-bike and helmet (not included in the price).

In case of bad weather the event will be cancelled.

30 years Unika - Exhibition

The prestigious UNIKA Art Fair, once again hosted in the tennis hall of Ortisei -Roncadizza, proudly celebrates 30 successful years. Yoga at the foot of the Latemar with hike

What makes yoga at the foot of the Latemar so special? It's the silence, the nature and the breathtaking view. Together with yoga teacher Johanna Kompatscher, we hike into the extraordinary Latemar forest. This is known for its high-quality hazel spruce wood, which is well suited for stringed instruments and is sought after by instrument makers from all over the world. In this idyllic setting at the foot of the Latemar, Johanna will guide us through a meditative practice that strengthens and promotes our strength, flexibility and concentration. During the dynamic Prana Flow, we will merge our breath with movement and practice yoga with mindfulness.
