After 2017, the famous men's road cycling stage race returns to Val Gardena and for the first time to S. Cristina. Val Gardena, where cycling has always played a major role, has had the honour of hosting the Giro d'Italia nine times: the first time in 1940. On 21st May 2024, the Giro returns to the valley again: after a long stage with the Cima Coppi of the Passo Stelvio, the athletes cross the finish line at Monte Pana under the majestic Sassolungo at S. Cristina in Val Gardena. The stage starts uphill with the Passes Eira and Foscagno followed after Bormio by the Stelvio. Afterwards long descent and long plains to Bolzano along the Val Venosta and the Valle dell’Adige. From Cardano follows a long climb to Castelrotto and Passo Pinei. After crossing Ortisei, the last few kilometres are a gentle ascent up to the final climb to Monte Pana in S. Cristina.

Cristina in Val Gardena. The following day, May 22, 2024, the 17th stage will start from Nives Square in Selva Val Gardena. The stage is short and very challenging, with few kilometers and significant elevation gain. It begins with the ascent of the Sella Pass, and after the Val di Fassa (the only "calm" section), the cyclists will sequentially climb the Passo Rolle, Passo Gobbera, and Passo Brocon until the first checkpoint. The descent to Castello Tesino prepares the terrain for the subsequent ascent from the steepest and uncharted side of Val Malene to Passo Brocon, where the finish line awaits. The last 2 kilometers are very steep, with tight and consecutive hairpin turns, with an average gradient of 12%.

From 23 to 26 May 2024, the new schenna e.motion event will be all about electric mobility and enjoyment. In addition to excursions with electric vehicles to the most beautiful places in South Tyrol, there will be a special supporting programme with an e-test and safety day in Bolzano, a tour of an e-plant, high-class enjoyment evenings and much more.

From game to game: Galloping into the Middle Ages is every spring the returning motto in the Dolomites region Seiser Alm. After the start at the Trostburg Castel in Waidbruck/Ponte Gardena the tournament goes on with four stages: at the Kofel/Mount Calvary in Kastelruth takes place the traditional ring jousting. The second game, the labyrinth, is on program at the Matzlbödele in Seis.The third of four stages takes place at the Völser Weiher lake with its gallop. The tournament concludes with the game at Prösels Castle, the ride through posts. In the center of Bolzano, Maretsch Castle where beer culture will be shown in a new light with numerous exhibitors and beer varieties from home and abroad. The craft beer movement has found a heart in South Tyrol.

Visitors can browse through different stalls offering food, distillates, wine, hand-made art, craft and clothes. Handbags made with inner tube of tractors. Preserved fruit and vegetables, "gselchtes" with homemade bread, pieces of basketwork, jewellery, plants and other beautiful things. The event beginns at 10 a.m. and takes place at the famous "Gaudententurm - Tower of Gaudenz" in Partschins.

The traditional monthly market is held on the market square from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Whitsun concert. The Tramin citizen band offers a programme of brass-band music from traditional to modern on the town hall square.

The traditional Corpus Christi-procession will be accompanied by the Musikkapelle Partschins Band and after they will give a short concert. Beginning: ca 8.30 p.m. at the church square of Rabland.

The Untermais music band does one of their concerts at the Raiffeisen square.

The volunteer fire department of Plaus cordially invites everyone to the evening festival on the fairground in Plaus.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Haflinger breed, a big festival will be held over several days. The Haflinger Breeding Association would like to celebrate the anniversary and the South Tyrolean origin of the Haflinger in a fitting manner! There is a lot to experience! At the Bergler Harass picnic in Tiers am Rosengarten, nature lovers can savour a range of hearty farmers’ fare with a view over the legendary Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage). The picnic will take place on June 2nd at the Wuhnleger, an Alpine meadow with a small lake whose waters reflect the Rosengarten. A wooden crate (namend harass in german dialect) will serve as a picnic basket, jam-packed with traditional products from Tiers, including sheep’s cheese, venison salami, Tiers bread, butter, milk, raspberry juice and doughnuts. You pay for what you choose as content. The participants can enjoy the afternoon sitting on a blanket down the shady larchs. Musical entertainment will round off this sociable afternoon to perfection. Registration is not required.

Traditional Alpine folk music: reinterpreted by emerging South Tyrolean artists! On the majestic Nörderberg Mountain in Naturno/Naturns, the Alpine mountain hut season kicks off with a new music festival showcasing upcoming South Tyrolean talent, reinterpreting traditional Alpine folk songs. Throughout the day, four different groups are scheduled to perform at four mountain huts on the Nörderberg.

Every three years, pilgrims from twelve parishes in Val Badia valley cross the passes on foot to reach Villnöss valley. The next day they continue their pilgrimage to the Monastery of Sabiona in Klausen/Chiusa. On the third day the pilgrims return home on foot. On Thursday at around 6.30 pm, the pilgrims arrive in St. Peter. The music band of Villnöss welcomes the pilgrims with a serenade and accompanies them to St. Peter's Church for Holy Mass.

Sacred Heart of Jesus procession in Kiens/Chienes from 08:30 a.m. Traditional fair day festival in Kiens starts at 6.30 p.m. saturday. Sunday brunch from 10:30 clock and afternoon concerts of wind, the evening dance party whit music.

Do you love cycling and the Dolomites? Then you should not miss the Sellaronda Bike Day, the day when the roads of the famous Sellaronda are closed to motorized traffic from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and reserved for cyclists. It is the perfect occasion to ride the Dolomites passes Gardena, Sella, Pordoi and Campolongo without noise and vehicle pollution. To take part you do not need to register and you can organize the day according to your wishes and abilities, whether as a sporting challenge or an excursion on two wheels. Join in, participate with friends or family and enjoy riding the unique Dolomite roads admiring the landscapes along the route. The entire tour is 53 km long and has a total difference in altitude of 1600 m, but everyone can drive as long as they want. It is recommended to cycle anticlockwise! During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.
