In Ortisei you can’t just find carved traditional sculptures of wood, but in winter also some made of ice. In the week from 20.01.-26.01.2025, the Tourist Office Ortisei, in coorporation with local artists, will realize sculptures, that you can admire along the pedestrian area. Tobogganing on a natural track also needs to be learnt. In his hometown, world luge champion Patrick Lambacher will teach you the best technique for braking and turning and will give you tips on the right equipment. Certified cross-country skiing instructors accompany beginners on their first kilometres in the snow and show them the correct technique

Professional introduction with the expert Martin Psenner with many tips and tricks to learn the correct driving and braking technique from 11 a.m.-12.30 p.m. & 1-3 p.m., Duration: 20 minutes. The participation is free for everyone,no registration necessary. The sled is available free of charge on the toboggan exercise park. Changes possible depending on snow conditions! The tobogganing course is not available in bad weather!

Experience an enchanting circular hike on the snowy plateau between Tiers and Welschnofen, where sparkling snowfields and majestic mountain panoramas allow you to fully immerse yourself in the winter serenity of South Tyrol. Tour Description: After ascending with the cable car from Tiers, we begin our hike at the Frommeralm hut. We hike past the Niger Pass and take trail No. 1 towards Schillerhof. Before reaching it, we turn towards Hagneralm hut and continue on to Jocherhof. After a lunch break, we return to the starting point via Nigertal valley. -- Cun la ciaspes sun Resciesa -- A snowshoe hike to discover the winter magic of Resciesa: the start of this impressive adventure takes place in Ortisei, from where you take an uphill facility to overcome the first difference in altitude. Very quietly and in the company of a guide from the Catores group, you will explore the Resciesa-Alp in the middle of the Puez-Odle Nature Park, which offers a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. Here you can feel nature down to your toes and recharge your batteries. An amusing hike in the beautiful valley basin of Olang (1.050m), „ the three village country“ on the east side of the Kronplatz/Plan de Corones. In a schort time we will reach with our own cars the Train Station of Mitterolang, where the hike will beginn. Free parking and WC. We hike on leisurely walking and hiking trails with panoramic views of two different mountain worlds, the magnificent mountains range of the „Olanger Dolomites“, the mountains of the Antholzertal on the main alpine ridge and beautiful views over the Valdaora basin. The traditional Brenner market takes place every 5th and 20th of the month throughout the year. If this day falls on a Sunday or public holiday, then the market takes place on Saturday before. At the market stalls many different interesting things, such as clothing, utensils and goodies for snacking are waiting. The market takes place every summer from 8.30 to 14.30 During the winter months, it opens from 9.00 to 14:00

Short guided tour in German/Italian. Meeting point: at the church in Mittelberg. Duration: 20 minutes, Cost: € 2. The St. Nikolaus church in Mittelberg is first mentioned in 1289. This church was enlarged in the gothic style in 1400 and has kept its appearance from that time. The tower is somewhat later than the church and was probably built in the 14th Century. It is made of natural stones laid in regular patterns. Possibly in 1400 the upper levels were altered to the gothic style and the existing windows date from that period. In 1744 a rather large onion dome was added. It does not fit the building but is still quite pleasing. In 1976, during the restoration of the church and the tower, the Romanesque masonry was discovered. In this phase of restoration also came to light a large cycle of medieval frescoes that reproduce scenes of the passion of the Lord, the twelve apostles and prophets
