International Museum Day - KID'S LAB
    Brixen/Bressanone, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
To mark International Museum Day, the Neustift abbey museum is presenting a Laboratory for children of 6 and over This is a hands-on experience for children. The children use plastic waste such as empty plastic bottles or rigid plastic film to make various objects, figures or animals. These are enlarged as under a microscope and projected onto the wall using an overhead projector and a polarization filter. Large, colourful, dynamic light pictures are created to show the children that something beautiful and new can be created out of something as ugly as plastic waste. Assisting the children is the artist Martina Dal Brollo. She is one of the well-known young artists responsible for the creation of the Water Light Festival Neustift. Her work ‘Polarized View’ can be seen in the abbey museum and is based on the techniques that the children can try out. International Museum Day
    Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
Bread from far away - exhibition in guest showcase ‘Bread from far away' is the title of the Women's Museum's new exhibition as part of the ARGE ALP project 'The journey of objects - tradition-diversity-change 2', in which it took part together with six other museums from neighbouring Alpine regions. Seven videos show how traditions are constantly adapting to change, especially in the Alpine region. To mark the occasion, the Women's Museum and Urania Merano are showing the exhibition ‘Bread that comes from far away’. The goal is to raise awareness of bread and the stories associated with it from the different cultures of our community through encounters and the exchange of knowledge: Bread that has existed for centuries, for example from the farming tradition in the country, and bread that has come to us over time through migrant women. From 11.00 to 12.00: Stories about bread, its flavour and the memories associated with it. With Cecilia Muñoz. Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
