On 14 June 2024, the legendary Stelvio road will be closed to motorised traffic for the first half of the night and will be completely open to cyclists and pedestrians. The last seven kilometres of the 'Berghotel Franzenshöhe' before the summit will be magically illuminated by indirect lighting to show participants the way to the 2,757-metre peak. Experience the second edition of 'Challenge your menu' and enjoy regional specialities at five different catering points along the route from Trafoi to the summit of the pass. Whether on foot, by (E-)bike or other non-motorised means of transport; everyone is invited to take an enjoyable journey along the Stelvio Pass road at night on June 14, 2024. The HERO KIDS 2024 is a non-agonistic race for children from 4 to 12 years of age. The race is intended to allow youngsters who may become tomorrow’s champions to take part in a mountain bike race especially for them. The route is not particularly demanding. REGISTRATION All kids between 4 and 12 years of age are welcome to take part to this race. Maximum number of participants is 500 kids. Registration fee: € 25,00

APERITIVO LUNGO ON THE VIGILJOCH Esperanto was born from an idea by guitarist and composer Luca Falomi and his collaboration with Riccardo Barbera, a versatile and creative double bass player. The name of the project is inspired by the language that emerged in the late 1800s through the fusion of idioms of Latin, Romance, Germanic, Slavic and Oriental origin. Accordionist Fausto Beccalossi has been part of the ensemble since 2007 and enriches the versatile project with his extensive experience and playing. First we walk from the aquaprad Visitor Centre to the Suldenbach bridge and then along the river to the Prad sports zone. Here the Suldenbach river is released from its narrow corset into a unique river delta with many side arms. This is one of the last important habitats of Myricaria germanica in South Tyrol. Alnus glutinosa can also be found here. The Prader Sand is also an important resting place for migratory birds and a breeding ground for the Common Kingfisher and the Little Ringed Plover. A considerable part of the Prader Sand comprises dry, hot sand and gravel areas that are gradually becoming scrubland. Amongst others, the Nightingale breeds here and its marvellous song can mainly be heard in the morning and evening. Striking plants in this extreme habitat are Oxytropis pilosa, Oxytropis xerophila or Orchis militaris, which blooms as early as May. This very rare orchid species can also be found in the so-called "Kultur", a deciduous and pine forest that was planted in the 1880s and 1960s as a windbreak for the cultivated agricultural land. We walk back to the village of Prad through this forest, which is characterised by a branched irrigation system with irrigation channels. At lunchtime there is the opportunity to stop off at the restaurant close to the fishing ponds. The "Kastelruther Spatzen" Open Air Concert will be held on June for the 26th time.

Cool Swim Meeting is one of the main events of the summer of swimming in Italy. Now in its eighth year, the event will once again bring over 800 athletes and coaches from all over the world to Merano from 14th to 16th of June.

Consequently, on the 9th of July, Freud sets off from Karlsbad, where he was staying to recover from a bout of 'American colitis', and joins his family at Klobenstein. This is where the Freuds celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, on 14th September - the enjoyment of their holiday thus being enhanced by love and affection. Ride the chairlift up to the Haunold/Baranci. From there we go in search of the giant Haunold and can explore his kingdom at various stations. The hike then continues across the Schmiedelwiesen to the Wildbad and its various water sources. From the Museum Ladin Ćiastel de Tor we set off together to discover SMACH. Val dl'Ert (Art Valley), an open-air sculpture park that was recently awarded one of 10 honorable mentions in the National Landscape Award 2022-2023. Along the path you will see more than 23 works of art set in an alpine forest, among fir trees and pastures on a stretch of unspoilt nature. This is a permanent exhibition of sculptures acquired as a result of previous editions of the SMACH. Biennial, a temporary public art festival in the high mountains involving the entire valley, which is now in its 6th year (opening July 8th). After the Val dl’Ert guided tour, you can have a light lunch at the Museum Ladin bar, and afterwards you can independently visit the museum where you can immerse yourself in the history, culture and traditions of the Ladin people.
