Hike through the vineyards of Riffian/Rifiano with local winegrower Michl and dive into the fascinating world of South Tyrolean wine. Along the way, Michl will share insights into the history and cultivation of the vines, different grape varieties, and how the wines are marketed. The highlight of the experience is a wine tasting right at the farm: savor exquisite wines from Michl's own production, paired with delicious regional specialties. Language: German & Italian We meet at 10 am at Klobenstein station. We take bus 165 to Unterinn. From here we hike to Signat and along the new wine hiking trail "Rebe" to Bolzano. The sunny mountain slope from Bozen up to the Ritten is one of the finest wine-growing areas in South Tyrol. Along the wine steps, the 10 artistic installations offer a fascinating glimpse into the culture of wine production. From Signat the trail leads downhill through the gently rolling vineyards to the viewing platform with its magnificent views of Bozen, then on to the Loosmannhof, to the settlement of St. Justina and down to Rentsch in the historic wine-growing estate of Ansitz Waldgries. The same route leads back uphill from Bozen to Signat.

The traditional Sterzing farmers' market ends with the Sterzing harvest festival on the town square. Experience traditional crafts, South Tyrolean delicacies, freshly prepared sweet temptations and a large selection of products straight from the farm. “Autumn is always our best time”, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe already knew that autumn brings with it a very special atmosphere: the fruit on the trees ripens, the leaves turn colorful and the sky turns a wonderful blue. This is also the case in the town square of Sterzing in South Tyrol on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26, 2024. Friday begins with the traditional farmers' market in the town square, which will take place for the last time in summer 2024. As every Friday, local suppliers offer their products from 09:00 - 13:00. From honey, Wipptal Valley herbal teas, homemade bread and baked goods to fresh vegetables and organic wines, you will find everything to make your heart beat faster at the Sterzing farmers' market. At the last edition, the Wipptal Valley farmers' wives will also be preparing traditional South Tyrolean specialties such as fresh “Tirtlan” with spinach or cabbage filling, as well as Sterzing doughnuts for visitors. The Sterzing Harvest Festival begins on Saturday at 10:00 am on the town square. Throughout the day, there is a farmers' and creative market for visitors, where you can admire and purchase homemade fruit juices and syrups, various tea blends and herbs, farmhouse cheese specialties, homemade jams, fresh eggs and much more. The Stilfes Advent market has a stand with handmade candles and other grave decorations for All Saints' Day. The donations for this will be donated to Südtirol hilft. Doughnuts, fresh apple juice, homemade sausage with cabbage or smoked meat - there is something for every taste! Of course, there is also the typical “Keschtn”, which is a must in the fall. Musical entertainment is also provided.

The stories behind their production and great music will be the protagonists of the third edition of WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road. Our Program in Tramin WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road - at Ansitz of Elena Walch Winery On October 25th, we invite you to the Wine Sounds event at the Ansitz of Elena Walch Winery at 10:30 AM. The historic winery of Elena Walch will open its doors to the concert attendees. After the final notes have faded away in the historically significant courtyard, with a view of the picturesque mountain scenery, we will take you on a journey of discovery through our wine cellars. Today, in the former Jesuit monastery, using both traditional and avant-garde techniques, Elena Walch creates her multi-award-winning wines. The charming contrast between intricately carved wooden barrels and the highly modern fermentation cellar with its architectural highlights perfectly reflects our identity and versatility. Following the concert, there will be a tasting of selected wines in the estate's park, where you'll have the opportunity to experience it for yourself!

The "Laatscher Morkt" is a traditional autumn market in Laatsch near Mals. Products from local farmers, craftsmen, artists and many more. With cheese, chestnuts, clothes, as well as cabbage, bread and goulash. And there are animals too! With lots of music and accordion players, there's plenty going on! Come and see for yourself!

The autumn gardens offer a wide variety of materials for this workshop – from dried flowers to fresh blooms, all of which can be harmoniously arranged in beautiful color combinations. You will create your own bouquet and you are welcome to take it home. Tip: Bring your favorite vase from home and match the bouquet perfectly to it.

At five selected stations, the winegrowers offer for tasting those wines that grow in the respective altitudes along the wine steps between Rentsch and Signat. From the rich Lagrein to the aromatic Gewürztraminer to the spicy Kerner: a whole 13 grape varieties ripen on the 3.5 km long REBE wine hiking trail! At the end, a cozy chill-out awaits hikers and wine lovers at Ansitz Waldgries with culinary delicacies and the lively sounds. Program: 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Wine hiking and tasting on the REBE wine trail. The Jenesier chestnut farmers invite you to the "Keschtnmorkt" in the village center of Jenesien. They await the guests with all kinds of delicacies related to chestnuts, good things from the autumn farmer's kitchen and naturally roasted chestnuts as well as home-grown wines and homemade juices of all kinds.

The feast of the town in Ferrara of Braies Valley is organized on the pre-last weekend of October. On Saturday is positioned the "Kirtamichlbam" (the traditional tree) by the no-married young boys. In the evening is organized the "Kirtaball" (dance party) with a DJ and traditional music. On Sunday the day begins with a good Bayern breakfast with "Weißwurst" and beer. Typical dishes are served for lunch. In the afternoon the "Kirtamichl" is taken off and around it you can listen live music: in the end you can win the traditional "Kirtamichlbam".

Franz Wanner's first Italian solo exhibition, curated by Kristina Kreutzwald and Martina Oberprantacher, traces his complex artistic research. Using photography, video, words and objects, the artist investigates the past, focusing on the war industry and the use of forced labour in the context of National Socialism, and its effects on society in the present, bringing to light omissions that have been perpetuated over time. For this exhibition, Franz Wanner has also carried out some specific research on the South Tyrolean context and the use of forced labour during the period of the ‘Zone of Operations in the Pre-Alps’, i.e. when the Province of Bolzano was annexed to Nazi Germany.

Kunst Meran Merano Arte hosts AlpiTypes, dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation and connection between lettering, typographic design and lettering painting. The exhibition focuses on applied graphics developed in the first half of the 20th century in the area currently corresponding to South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino. Curated by Antonino Benincasa, Massimo Martignoni and Anna Zinelli, AlpiTypes is based on the in-depth research conducted by Benincasa and Martignoni on local graphics. A group of students from the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, Faculty of Design and Art, accompanied by Antonino Benincasa, reinterpreted historical typefaces from incomplete alphabets, which at the time were often made by hand, integrating the missing characters, revealing how the original typographic concept was inspired by European stylistic currents such as Bauhaus, Rationalism, the Wiener Secession, Constructivism and the Arts and Crafts movement. The project is enhanced by the involvement of international graphic designers, who use the fonts to create contemporary typographic posters. The work highlights a quality and topicality of graphic design in the area that is still almost unknown.

When there is an aroma of roast chestnuts on Schlossweg, glasses are filled with delicious wine and the local societies serve up autumnal treats, that means it's Schlossweg Festival time in Dorf Tirol. Take a leisurely walk between the stalls, enjoy the colourful autumnal landscape and celebrate rural traditions and customs with us. If the weather is bad the festival doesn't take place.
