The Parish Caritas, in collaboration with the Parish Council, is once again organising the Church Day in St Magdalena on Sunday 21st July. Holy Mass with solemn procession at 9.30 am in the church of St. Magdalena. Followed by a concert by the music band. Food and drink will be provided. The proceeds go to the parish charity.

Come to Tagusens for the festival! Enjoy authentic customs, live music and good atmosphere. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the Holy Mass in the church in the small fraction of Kastelruth, followed by the 11 a.m. festive event with music.

Locations: Bozen–Rentsch-Klobenstein-Lengstein-Barbian-Waidbruck-Telfen/Lanzin-Seis-Völs-Blumau-Bozen, 75 km, 1.748 m. The first stage of Giro delle Dolomiti departs at 9 a.m. from Bolzano, from BolzanoFair, located in Bolzano South. Continuing to the district “Rencio”, where the road winds its way through vineyards and mixed forests of the Renon Plateau. This the favorite vacation spot of the people of Bolzano, which offers beautiful views of Alpe di Siusi, Sciliar and Sassolungo. Once reached the highest point in Collalbo, the route continues halfway up the mountainside to Barbian, then descends to Ponte Gardena. Here, it joins the provincial road to Castelrotto, the first timed section, which will declare the first winners of this new edition. After a well-deserved break (feeding – point) at the finish line in Castelrotto, the route descends, in the shadow of the Sciliar massif, through the villages of Siusi and Fié till Prato Isarco, from where will be reached BolzanoFiar again. The Giro delle Dolomiti, in its 47th edition from July 22-26, 2024, returns to the great Dolomite classics on the territories of South Tyrol and Trentino. Each stage (5 in total) will feature, a mountain time trial that will help determine the overall winner. For the rest of the route, you will pedal in a speed-controlled peloton. The Giro delle Dolomiti enjoys great popularity on the international scene. This year´s stages are full of charm and will take in the stunning Dolomite passes of Stelvio, Passo Fedaia, Alpe di Pampeago and the Salto plateau. In fact, many of these 'classic' passes have hosted the Giro d´Italia caravan in recent years. The "Giro dei 4 Passi" stage, the legendary "Sellaronda" with the Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo and Gardena passes, will be the longest and most challenging of the entire event. In 2024 the total distance will be 503.5 kilometers, the elevation gain about 11,509 meters. It will start each day from Fiera Bolzano, the logistical center of the event. Registration can be for the entire Giro delle Dolomiti ("Complete Giro" ticket) or for individual stages. Included in the registration fee is a long list of services, as well as the official Giro delle Dolomiti jersey. The Giro delle Dolomiti is certified as a "green event" and boasts the Patronage of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation. For those who will accompany the cyclists, moreover, the organizers of the ASD Giro delle Dolomiti have planned cultural and gastronomic activities, devising an ad hoc package for them, the so-called "Giro Guest".

Living heritage of the Dolomites The travelling exhibition with 20 impressive panels was designed for the 50th anniversary of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. The open-air exhibition shows pictures of the impressive landscape of the nature park and the diversity of flora and fauna. The exhibition also tells of the beginnings of the mountain refuges and of the people who live and work in the nature park. The exhibition travels to every village in the Dolomites region from June to October and is accessible free of charge. Concert of the Badiamusica Festival with the Upcycling Band consisting of four professional drummers and multi-instrumentalists from the Trentino-South Tyrol region: Mirko Pedrotti, Georg Malfertheiner, Max Castlunger and Manfred Gampenrieder. All three language groups of the region (German, Italian, Ladin) are represented, they find the best way to communicate through music! In the spirit of sustainability, the percussion virtuosos play exclusively on instruments and sound objects built by Max Castlunger himself from used objects and materials. Come and listen to the traditional alphorn players at the Gostner mountain hut.

The stage ‘Sellaronda’ will start from Ponte Gardena (Km 0), the entrance of Val Gardena. This shifting of the starting-point guarantees more fun and safety on the road for the participants on the way out of Bolzano. After a short climb, on the way of “strada statale Val Gardena”, it will lead to Ortisei, then to S. Cristina and finally to Selva V.G., where begins the climb to Passo Gardena and Passo Sella. After reaching the junction, after Plan de Gralba, the road will keep on to Passo Gardena. After an initial uphill section, the route becomes almost flat. Coasting the Sella massif, we climb the hairpin bends that lead to Passo Gardena. From here follows a fabulous descent, surrounded by the imposing rock faces of the Dolomites, till Corvara where refreshments are provided. Quickly over the Passo Campolongo, we arrive in Arabba, the start of the timed section up to Passo Pordoi. After a short break with a visit to the Coppi monument, we continue uphill to Passo Sella and then a long descent to Selva V.G. for lunch. Having left Val Gardena, reaching Pontives and downhill to Ponte Gardena, where the stage ends.

When walking in nature with your eyes open, you will find lots of materials that can be used to create surprising things. In the small workshop in the centre of Ortisei, pebbles, moss, seeds, wood, leaves, pinecones, and other natural materials are used to build small works of art together with the children. Thanks to this workshop the creations can be taken home and remind even after the holidays what great things can be made with such simple materials and a little imagination. During the workshop we build together a new home for useful insects made of natural materials. All children are welcome to participate. The price will be 15,00 €.
