Autumn is the time for Törggelen! “Törggelen” comes from the Latin word “torculum”, which means “winepress”. The fragrant smell of roasted chestnuts is truly special, and something which characterises autumn time. People meet together to enjoy Tyrolean specialities, the new wine (known here as “Susser”, from the German word for “sweet”) – and the delicious chestnuts, of course. Innkeepers, farmers, artisans and artists all proffer their wares on Raiffeisenplatz market square, so there’s plenty to see.

Puppet theatre "Not only wolves are hungry". Puppet theatre by Eva Sotriffer in collaboration with the library and the Villnöß education committee for children aged 4 and more years and the whole family. No registration required.

The ingredients are all there for a spectacular autumn in the castles of the Alto Adige Wine Road. From 20th October to 5th November 2024, several prestigious concerts will be held in the ancient walls of the towns that unfold on one of the most beautiful wine roads in Europe, combined with the excellent wines of this territory. Wine, the stories behind its production and great music will be the protagonists of the first edition of “WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road. The entrance to the concerts includes the concert itself and different tastings to discover the best of local wines that, together, constitute the Alto Adige Wine Road’s family.

Wine and first-class music are the protagonists of the second edition of the concert series WineSounds on the Alto Adige Wine Road. Experience a guided tour of the historic castle Payersberg, followed by a first-class concert with the band TriOlé. After the sounds of the music have faded after about an hour, the focus is on enjoyment. Fine appetisers accompany the excellent wine from the winery Nals Margreid and round off the musical experience with culinary delights. A wine tasting of a special kind in the midst of the vineyards of Ritten and Bolzano. The winegrowers of Ritten and Rentsch invite you to enjoy their wine along the REBE wine trail. At five selected stations, the winegrowers offer for tasting those wines that grow in the respective altitudes along the wine steps between Rentsch and Signat. From the rich Lagrein to the aromatic Gewürztraminer to the spicy Kerner: a whole 13 grape varieties ripen on the 3.5 km long REBE wine hiking trail! At the end, a cozy chill-out awaits hikers and wine lovers at Ansitz Waldgries with culinary delicacies and the lively sounds. Program: 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Wine hiking and tasting on the REBE wine trail. The REBE wine hiking trail: Along the 3.5 km long and easily walkable wine trail between Signat and Rentsch, hikers encounter 10 artistically designed installations by sculptor Filip Doss Moroder. They provide an exciting insight into wine culture and inform about the 13 local grape varieties. From Signat you hike down through the gentle wine hills to the viewing platform with a magnificent view of Bolzano, then on to the Loosmannhof farm, the small village of St. Justina and down to Rentsch to the historic Ansitz Waldgries winery.

All Saints market in Lana in the J.-Kravogel and F.-Höfler Str., from 7.30 - 13.00. The following roads will be closed during the market: Lorenzerweg, Franz-Höfler-Strasse, Johann-Kravogl-Strasse. Parking is prohibited on all streets and squares from 06:00 to 16:00.

ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Untermeinlechnerhof. We take the bus from the village centre in Schenna to Verdins and then hike to Untertall to Untermeinlechner and after a cosy stop for refreshments back to the starting point. From here you are free to decide whether to return on foot or by bus. Of course, a Törggelemenü and hearty music are not to be missed!
