The ice rink on the Ritten is the fastest outdoor rink in the world. Professional athletes and competitive teams come here for regular training and to race. The Ritten Arena is the home of the internationally successful ice hockey team, the Rittner Buam, and venue of the Continental Cup. Experience the calm and grace of classic cross-country skiing! In this beginner course for adults and children aged 6 and up, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the classic technique. With expert guidance, you’ll master the basic movements, glide along the trail, and enjoy the snowy winter landscape – no prior experience needed.

Immerse yourselves in the peaceful winter landscape around Prad and discover the extraordinary open-air studio of Lorenz Kuntner, known as the Indian of Prad.

Every Sunday during winter, he opens his world and invites you to experience his art, nature, and spirituality up close.

Among painted stones, antlers, totem poles, wood, and found objects, art and nature merge into a truly unique experience.

There’s no fixed program – Lorenz Kuntner is simply there: to be seen, to inspire wonder, and to meet people.

You can ask him questions, explore his works, or watch his creative process.

A place for genuine encounters, quiet inspiration, and personal connection.

The golden autumn has given up its colorful place and left the stage to winter for the most contemplative time of the year. With a promising tone, lights and angels, Christmas trees and a small Christmas market announce the holiday season in Kaltern, which makes the most of its smaller size with nothing lacking. A contemplative village stroll if desired, enjoying wine and fine treats in festive garb, embedded in culinary traditions with both old customs and new practices that will join them. A celebration of joy, sharing, and community, surrounded by music and hospitality in the heart of Kaltern.

The concert on 22 December 2025 at the Church of the Dominicans, part of the “Advent in Music” programme for the Bolzano Christmas Market, will take the audience on a musical journey filled with tradition, spirituality and the warm atmosphere of the holiday season. The evening opens with “O Signore, dal tetto natio” from I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata and “Adio Monc” from Aneta, followed by the iconic “Va’ pensiero” from Verdi’s Nabucco. The programme continues with “Jesus bleibet meine Freude” from Cantata BWV 147 by Johann Sebastian Bach, and Mozart’s radiant “Alleluia” from Exultate, Iubilate. The concert then moves into the reflective beauty of César Franck’s “Panis Angelicus” and “Stella d’argiento” by Corrado Sfogli and Carlo Faiello. International colours enrich the programme with the African traditional “Siyahamba”, Adolphe Adam’s beloved “Cantique de Noël”, and three timeless Christmas classics: “Adeste Fideles”, “Stille Nacht” and “White Christmas”. The performance features sopranos Victoria Burneo Sanchez and Anna Bellosguardo, baritone Walter Franceschini, and the G. Verdi Lyric Choir of Bolzano in collaboration with Estrolirica, accompanied by pianist Luca Schinai and conducted by Claudio Vadagnini.

On December 22nd, from 5:00 to approximately 6:00 p.m., the Vivaldi School of Music will offer a special musical moment from the window of room 2.8 on the second floor of the building. The event will feature Ricercare Cello Young, an ensemble made up of the school’s young cello students.

The group will perform a fully Christmas-themed program with the most well-known traditional holiday pieces: a half-hour of music that may be repeated twice, creating a full hour of festive and atmospheric performance. The ensemble will be directed by the cello teacher, who will also perform alongside the students.

The official poster—shared on social media and displayed at the school entrance—introduces an event designed to offer the audience “a musical journey through the most famous traditional Christmas tunes.”

Every Monday evening, Olang glows with a very special atmosphere: during the torchlight hike, you can discover the winter village bathed in the warm glow of flickering flames – a truly magical experience. The leisurely walk lasts about 45 minutes and leads you through the snow-covered landscape – a highlight for young and old alike. The shimmering lights create a unique mood, making this evening an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

At the end of the hike, a apple mulled-wine mix (alcohol-free) or mulled wine awaits you at the Panorama Restaurant, the perfect way to round off this enchanting evening in the Dolomites.

A snowshoe hike to discover the winter magic of Resciesa: the start of this impressive adventure takes place in Ortisei, from where you take an uphill facility to overcome the first difference in altitude. Very quietly and in the company of a guide from the Catores group, you will explore the Resciesa-Alp in the middle of the Puez-Odle Nature Park, which offers a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. Here you can feel nature down to your toes and recharge your batteries. After that, you will return to Ortisei with the funicular.

An easy route, suitable for everyone, leads first to the picturesque Vallunga, where just before the St. Sylvester’s Chapel branches off a Way of the Cross, which leads to the sunny area of Daunëi. Here the view is very postcard-like: you can admire the village of Selva di Val Gardena with its slopes and the huge Sella massif. Afterwards, a tasting of homemade cheese takes place at the Valin farm: delicious and local.

You can embark on this journey through time in Ortisei with the help of a knowledgeable guide. The tour, offered in English, German or Italian depending on the participants, lasts 1.5 hours and is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
