You could try to describe “Aluna” in a simple formula: one viola, two guitars, one trombone, one double bass, five passionate singing voices from South Tyrol, and songs from all over the world. A cover band without drums, then? Not quite. “Aluna” is a word from the multilingual vocabulary of the Kogi, Arhuaco, and Wiwa – mountain peoples who fled Spanish conquest 400 years ago and found refuge in Colombia’s highlands. Back then, “Aluna” meant the soul, thought, and human imagination. Today, the Aluna ensemble uses multicultural creativity to bring soulful interpretations of music from many parts of the world and cultures – performed by five musicians from the multilingual alpine region of South Tyrol. Their repertoire includes music of Neapolitan, Yiddish, Egyptian, Latin American, and Central European origin. It thrives on the unique style of their arrangements and the hope that something soulful can transcend language barriers and mountain peaks, creating a shared space of sound that unites people. It’s not easy – but it sounds wonderfully natural. On october 11th the last load of grapes is brought to the Tannerhof in a tub. Once at the Tannerhof, the grapes are pressed in a historic wine press and the fresh grape must is offered to visitors for tasting.

On 11th October 2025, the traditional cattle drive will once again take place in Rodeneck. The festivities will begin at 11.00 a.m at the Spritzenhütte in Nauders, where you can enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and delicious regional specialties. Around noon, the beautifully adorned cattle will make their way to the Spritzenhütte, accompanied by traditional music – a sight to behold for all ages. The local farmers’ youth and women will provide a variety of tasty local dishes and refreshments. Entertainment will be provided by the "Woazgruiba" band, while the "Ronegga Schuichplattla" will captivate the audience with their lively traditional dance performances. A special highlight of the day is the prize milking competition, where skill and speed come into play. Join us for a day of tradition, music, and culinary delights in the heart of Rodeneck – a celebration for the whole family!

Celebrate our religious traditions together with us. Today the religious procession with the translation of the Holy Cross will lead from the Sanctuary of La Crusc/Santa Croce to the village of Badia. During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

In Val Casies Valley, in the village of S. Maddalena, the traditional "Kirschta" (church day) is celebrated in autumn. We particularly recommend the "Original Obolola Almabtrieb" on Saturday afternoon. The farmers, dressed in traditional costumes, bring their livestock, such as cows, sheep and goats, directly from the mountain pastures back down to the valley. The animals are lavishly decorated with flowers, wreaths and bells. At the end of the valley, there is traditional food and musical entertainment until the end of the festival. On Sunday, the Kirchtag is celebrated with the traditional morning pint in the Club house from S. Maddalena with traditional music and local, regional specialities.

The multi-coloured autumn leaves and trees invites you with sweet ripe apples, beckon visitors to visit the Natz-Schabs High Apple Plateau. For a week in autumn, everything revolves around the apple, giving rise to a series of events. The Apple Festival is held on the second Sunday in October and is the climax of the autumn celebrations in Natz. The highlight is a big parade and the awarding of the Apple Queen title.

The Marling table tennis club invites you to the traditional "Törggelen" Festival on Sunday, October 12, from 10:00 to 18:00 on the Marling fairground. Look forward to a day full of enjoyment and good vibes! 🎉 The morning pint starts with the best entertainment from the Marling/Tscherms youth band, followed by another rousing music group. Food and drink are well catered for! Roasted chestnuts, sweet wine and homemade cakes await you from midday. The event takes place in all weathers. Connoisseurs and friends of South Tyrolean cuisine should not miss the Törggelefest! Traditional dishes, roasted chestnuts and new wine, as well as musical entertainment on the town hall square in Naturno. Start 10.30 am. Admission free! In case of bad weather the event is canceled.

The festival will begin at 11 a.m. at the elementary school of Avigna. There will be a lots of tasty local delicacies with roasted chestnuts.

It is probably the most beautiful pilgrimage across the whole Alpine region: when autumn is at its most colourful, on the second Sunday in October, the villagers of Ortisei go up to the Chapel of San Giacomo. The location itself is heavenly: the chapel and the visitors look out across the Sassolungo from a spot on the steep mountain forest. From here, the mountain comes across like a cathedral of nature. Blessed as one is after a view like this, on Monday go to the traditional Segra Sacun market. Here it's all about the more earthly delights. The whole pedestrian zone is a lively market square, where walking through can be a bit difficult at times. Culinary delights, craftsmanship, carved and painted, are on offer. Another old tradition takes place in the market place: men ripe for marriage will buy a pear at the market, which they will decorate with a ribbon and give as a present to their chosen one. During Easter the following year, the woman has to give the man Easter eggs. Important: the man cannot forget to pick up the eggs if he wants to win his woman over.

Every year after the village festival in St. Jacob, on Monday the market "Segra Sacun" will be held in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The “Segra Sacun” market is the largest market of the year, which is filled with numerous stands that offer culinary delights and craft products. According to an ancient tradition, girls and women, on the occasion of this day, will be gifted with decorated pears as a sign of sympathy and love.

ONLY IN GERMAN! From the beginning of October, at the end of the grape harvest, until the beginning of the pre-Christmas season is "Törggelezeit". After leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape, guests and South Tyroleans enjoy the products of the harvest, especially chestnuts and new wine (Sußer). On this week's hike we visit the Bachlerhof. We take the bus from the village centre of Schenna up to the Pichler restaurant and then hike through the Vallplatz forest to the Bachlerhof farm and after a stop for refreshments we continue to Verdins. From the starting point you are free to decide whether to return on foot or by bus. A Törggelemenü and hearty music are of course not to be missed! A hiking adventure to discover South Tyrol's mountains and get to know this unique, enchanting, panoramic world better. Registration required in the tourist information office by 5 pm on the previous day. Limited number of participants.

From the bridge on the road to the Timmelsjoch Pass at the end of the Val Passiria valley, we begin our hike along the high-altitude trail “Tiroler Höhenweg,” which gently ascends through the forest. The final section climbs more steeply, leading us up small switchbacks to the Monteneve mine. We take a break at the Monteneve inn to refresh ourselves, then continue on to the “Obere Gostalm” mountain pasture, before returning to the road to the Timmelsjoch Pass. Elevation gain: approx. 600 m Walking time: 4.5–5 hours Difficulty: moderate

During the colourful autumn, families interested in nature learn in a playful way about the forest and its inhabitants together with a biologist on a walk around St. Magdalena: Which trees grow in Villnöss valley? Which animals can we observe in the forest? You will learn lots of exciting things about the forest through games, searching for clues and interesting materials. The Gollimarkt is a traditional market that takes place on October 16 (St. Gallus' Day) in the center of Mals. The Gollimarkt was established together with the Georgimarkt in 1642 on the occasion of the elevation of the village to a market town by Archduchess Claudia de' Medici. This year the colorful autumn market offers farm products, handicrafts and art!

In an inspiring atmosphere, we learn various knots of the macramé technique together, using only sustainably produced materials. With passion, Ingrid shares her knowledge of this rediscovered craft, providing essential insights into materials, preparation, posture, and design. Through her teaching, participants experience how healing textile craftsmanship can be. The Makramee workshop takes place in collaboration with Ingrid Bodner (Kunst in Textil).
