For the 12th time, LANA MEETS JAZZ will take place in the form of a one-week festival in 2022. As usual, in the spirit of South Tyrol's musical youth, it is characterized by the joint performances of large and small artists and is probably unique in South Tyrol in its kind. Concerts by international and national stars will take place at various locations together with music students from the surrounding music schools. So far, renowned artists such as Thomas Gansch, Gianluigi Trovesi, Gary Bartz, Paolo Fresu and Uri Caine were guests. The violinist and performer Anais Drago, winner of Top Jazz 2021 as the best up-and-coming talent, leads the trio "Relevè" with clarinettist Federico Calcagno and bassist and percussionist Max Trabucco. We take the public bus to the beginning of the valley between Innichen and Sexten. From there we hike thorugh the beautiful Innerfeldtal valley to the Drei Schuster Hütte. Alternatively, the way back can also be done partly by public transport (descent only approx. 30 min) difficulty: medium start: 08.30 am at the Tourist Office (bus lin. 446 starts at 8.48 am at the Haunold / Baranci) return: 04.00 pm approx. walking time: 4 hours approx. equipment: good shoes, water, food (lunch possibility in the hut), rain protection Don't forget your Südtirol Guest Pass for the bus.

What does the farmer do all day and what does he do in winter? What grows and thrives at 1,200 meters? You are welcome to take part in our everyday work. How much milk does a goat give and when does it start? Visit our animals in the barn with us! How is the milk turned into cheese and what does it taste like? A tour of the farm with a small product tasting and answers to many questions!

Arrival by public bus via Chiusa to the Villanderer Almen. Our tour starts at the Gasser hut. From here, hiking trail no. 6 leads in the direction of the Lake Totensee, which crosses the extensive pastureland of the Villanderer Alm on a gentle ascent. After around one and a half hours, we reach the Totenkirchl church. The picturesque Lake Totensee is just a ten-minute walk. Surrounded on two sides by high cliffs, it offers a dreamy view of the rocky realm of the Dolomites. Via the Prackfiederer Jöchl we reach the Stöffl Hut where we have lunch. After a leisurely break, we descend back to the Gasser Hut and take the bus back to Laion. Via the Schafsteig to the Rotwand Hut in the Catinaccio with hiking guide Ferdinand Pardeller Ascent from Welschnofen | Nova Levante with the public bus to Vigo di Fassa. From there we take the Ciampedie cable car. From Ciampedie we hike moderately steeply along the narrow sheep trail (Vial de le Feide) to the foot of the Mugoni, an imposing rocky peak in the Catinaccio massif. An exciting adventure awaits you during the guided tour of the church tower! From our expert guide Oswald Tröbinger you will not only learn why the church and the tower were built separately, but also have the opportunity to climb the observation tower: 82 meters high, with more than 300 steps. BARITUBE A new promising project by saxophonist Helga Plankensteiner with new compositions from the talents of the 3 musicians. RITA MARCOTULLI Italy's most prominent jazz pianist presents her solo programme. An imaginary journey inspired by everyday life, nature, experiences and the music of the different colours of the world. Original compositions, but also improvisations inspired by the emotions of the moment.

Film presentation for the 50th anniversary: „The Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. Living heritage of the Dolomites” A documentary film was made last fall for the 50th anniversary of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. The 30-minute film not only captivates with breathtaking landscape shots, it also tells about the mountain refuges, the agriculture, geology and the people who live and work in the nature park. The film premiere will be followed by a panel discussion with Arno Kompatscher, Angelika Rainer, Michil Costa, Valeria Pallotta und Georg Kaser. Both the film and the panel discussion are only in German.

The Das Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival is a non competitive choral event that takes place in Val Pusteria: this valley, one among the most beautiful one of the whole Alpine arc, is located at the border between Italy (Alto Adige) and Austria (Osttirol region) at the foot of the Dolomites. The Festival programme includes about sixty performances divided into real concerts, “Open Air Reviews” and Meeting-Days, in which each participating choir can freely perform their repertoire. The first edition of the Festival took place in 1998. The variety of the locations selected for the performances together with the extremely rich repertoire presented by the participating choirs make this event not only one of the most spectacular international choral festivals but also a unique opportunity of mutual and fruitful exchange between different musical cultures. Together with our herb experts, we explore the world of wild plants and medicinal herbs around our wonderful alpine pasture landscape on the "Kühberg". The summer in Natz-Schabs becomes musical! Every Wednesday, concerts by numerous South Tyrolean music bands take place on the high plateau. Traditional and also modern sounds fill the room. The perfect occasion to end the evening in a cosy atmosphere.

From Lajen/Laion we hike along the Walther von der Vogelweide circular trail descending towards Albions (857m). From here continue along the Walther von der Vogelweide circular trail to Ried/Novale (760m) and Villnod (657m). From Villnod walk along path no. 2 in the direction of Castel Forte (627m). You can visit the former home of Oswald von Wolkenstein, one of the most imposing castles of South Tyrol. It was built at the end of the 12th century and rebuilt into a resistant fortress in the 17th century. Experience the fascinating beauty of the Dolomites on a round trip with a small bus! Departure is from Völs am Schlern at 8:45 am, from Seis am Schlern at 8:55 am and from Kastelruth at 9:00 am. The route takes you from Völs to Kastelruth through the enchanting Val Gardena, over the Sella Pass and the impressive Pordoi Pass, up to the Falzarego Pass and on to Cortina d'Ampezzo. Lake Misurina awaits you there, where we take a break of about an hour. Here you have the opportunity to dine in the restaurant or enjoy some food you have brought with you while enjoying the view of the famous "Drei Zinnen". After a relaxing break, the journey continues into the Höhlenstein Valley and the historic town of Bruneck. Arrival in Kastelruth is planned for around 18:30. The guide will speak German and Italian, but you are welcome to join the tour to enjoy the nature and beauty of the Dolomites.
