Christmas as it used to be: the Mountain Advent in Trodena brings back the true spirit of Christmas: alpine traditions, ancient customs, and moments of reflection. Far from the hustle and bustle, the winding alleys and old cellars of the village center turn into a magical Advent setting: the market with a petting zoo, handmade crafts, traditional skills, and Grandpa’s Christmas workshop. Highlights also include the Krampus parade and concerts in the village church. In December 2025, the beloved Advent market will once again enchant visitors in the picturesque alleys and rustic cellars of Trodena.

Workshops and entertainment for children. Christmas is a time full of excitement, especially for children. That's why Merano Christmas has created a place for their imagination and creativity. On the Upper Passer Promenade (near the Post Bridge), you will find Goldy's Cottage, the mascot of Merano Christmas, which welcomes its little guests aged 4 and up during the weekends and Christmas holidays. On Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the traditional Advent Concert will take place in the Parish Church of St. Christina.

A varied musical program awaits the audience: the parish choir, Cor Sasslong, I Rujins, and a guitar and violin trio will come together to create an evening filled with festive sounds and contemplative atmosphere.

The concert offers a wonderful opportunity to step away from everyday life for a while and let the music and ambiance gently usher in the Christmas season.

Afterwards, at 6:00 p.m., the Advent raffle will take place on the church square – a delightful way to end the evening in warm company.

Advent Reading for Kids: „The Little Bell That Wouldn’t Ring“ From 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Toblach Cultural Center – Mirror Hall, a musical reading will take place. Christmas carols played by the brass band of the Lengmoos music band on the church square in Lengmoos at 9 a.m.

An event that opens the culinary winter season in Alta Badia: an itinerant journey on skis from hut to hut, where guests can savor the exclusive creations of five Michelin-starred chefs.
Some of the chefs from the Skiing with Taste project will be present in person, offering the chance to meet them along the way. Each dish will be paired with a refined selection of South Tyrolean wines, making the day an unforgettable celebration of flavors and mountain atmosphere.

The Vokalensemble Lauschwerk and Concerto Stella Matutina, conducted by Martin Steidler, present a refined program of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Advent Cantatas: BWV 36, 61, and 132. The concert will take place on December 14 at 6:00 PM at the Franciscan Church in Bolzano.

Tickets are €25, with reduced prices (€5–10–20) for over 65s, under 26s, and families (4Family, see services).

Experience the calm and grace of classic cross-country skiing! In this beginner course for adults and children aged 6 and up, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the classic technique. With expert guidance, you’ll master the basic movements, glide along the trail, and enjoy the snowy winter landscape – no prior experience needed.

ADVENT IN THE VILLAGE ON THE BORDER

During Alm Advent, the Fane Alm transform into a cozy place filled with festive anticipation on all Advent Sundays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visitors can look forward to mulled wine, South Tyrolean specialties, a lovingly designed children’s program with crafting and storytelling, as well as stalls offering homemade products.

Each Advent Sunday features its own special highlight:

On the 1st Sunday of Advent (30/11/2025), an alpine devotion takes place at 2 pm, accompanied by a four-part choir and then the brass ensemble of the Valles music band.

On the 2nd Sunday of Advent (07/12/2025), St. Nicholas visits the hut at 2 pm, with musical accompaniment by the Terento men’s choir.

On the 3rd Sunday of Advent (14/12/2025), the brass ensemble of the Rodeneck music band provides contemplative music.

The 4th Sunday of Advent (21/12/2025) is accompanied musically by Thomas Mahlknecht and Johannes Oberhofer

The event Christmas in Taisten transforms the new village square in Taisten into a warm and festive meeting place. Traditional customs, music and regional specialties create a peaceful yet lively Advent atmosphere across several event days. Saturday, 06 December: St. Nicholas celebration: at 05:00 p.m. St. Nicholas arrives from St. George’s Church (Keila) to the village square with gift giving, hot dogs, roasted chestnuts and warm drinks. Sunday, 14 December: from 09:30 a.m. to 03:00 p.m. festive brunch with soups and hot dogs, guessing game with the chance to win 4 Guggenberg day passes! Brass music and children’s cinema in the heated tent; Christmas market with local handicrafts.
