This summer, visitors to Rosskopf can look forward to a truly extraordinary experience: sunrise concerts with a mountain breakfast at the Wishing Bell. In the magical atmosphere of early morning, guests are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Stubai Alps. The adventure begins in the early hours, with the cable car transporting you from Sterzing to 1,860 metres above sea level. From there, accompanied by a hiking guide, you’ll ascend the final 350 metres on foot to the “Köpfl” to witness the sunrise over the Zillertal Alps and the Dolomites in the east. At the Wishing Bell, the sunrise concert welcomes the first rays of the new day in a magical atmosphere. A regional mountain breakfast completes the experience. Served high up at 2,120 meters, it is without doubt a truly unique highlight! A total of four concerts offer a great variety. The sunrise concerts begin on 27th of July with a performance by the civic chapel of Sterzing. The band "Elviras Kiss" will follow on 06 th of August, followed the band "Timbreroots" on the 10th August, Jimi Henndreck" on the 27th of August 2025. The South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano, recently designated a UNESCO Creative City of Music, is once again preparing to host one of Europe’s most prestigious cultural events in the summer of 2025: the Bolzano Festival Bozen. Each year, the festival brings together exceptional creative talents, as students from top international music academies collaborate with world-class soloists and conductors to present concerts of the highest artistic quality. Throughout the city, the air is filled with the energy of discovery and shared passion for classical music. Bolzano Festival Bozen is more than a series of concerts – it is a unique cultural platform that unites four key components of the city’s musical identity: the Antiqua Festival of Early Music, the Gustav Mahler Academy, the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, and the two prestigious youth orchestras-in-residence, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Founded by Claudio Abbado, these ensembles symbolize a shared European vision and have found their summer home in Bolzano. The festival offers a rich and diverse program, where young talent and legendary musicians come together to rehearse, perform, and inspire. Among the highlights of the 2025 edition are the final rounds of the renowned Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition, a performance by Sir John Eliot Gardiner with the Mahler Academy Orchestra as they explore the authentic soundscapes of early 20th-century music, and the celebrated cellist Pablo Ferrández – often referred to as “the new Yo-Yo Ma” – performing with the European Union Youth Orchestra under the baton of Vasily Petrenko. Also appearing are violinist Sayaka Shoji with the Bolzano String Academy, and acclaimed performers Alina Ibragimova and Renaud Capuçon, who will join the EUYO and GMJO under Iván Fischer and Manfred Honeck, respectively. For a festival whose founding motto is “music and youth,” it’s only natural that children and young audiences are not just welcomed, but encouraged to attend. In 2025, the festival’s family-friendly offerings are being expanded even further. Children are often far more open to classical music than one might expect. In fact, during the so-called “open-eared” phase – typically the first ten years of life – they show remarkable receptiveness and curiosity, even toward complex or contemporary works. This makes it an ideal time to introduce them to the world of classical music in an engaging, meaningful way. On August 14 at 7:30 PM at the Bolzano Municipal Theatre, the European Union Youth Orchestra will perform with violinist Alina Ibragimova under the direction of Iván Fischer. Prior to the concert, there will be a special introduction to the evening's program, focusing on Stravinsky’s The Firebird. Audiences will explore the Russian folktale that inspired the famous ballet and, with help from the musicians, learn to recognize musical motifs that will reappear during the performance. This introduction will be presented bilingually in Italian and German. Another special opportunity will take place on September 6 at the Bolzano Municipal Theatre (time to be confirmed), when the public is invited to attend the orchestral rehearsal for the Busoni Competition’s grand final. Since the final performance, accompanied by the Haydn Orchestra, is traditionally sold out and broadcast live on Italian television and streamed worldwide, this rehearsal offers young music lovers a rare chance to experience the intensity and behind-the-scenes atmosphere of a major international event. The theatre will be abuzz with activity, as the RAI sets up its equipment and prepares for the live transmission. Broadcast professionals will be on hand to explain how a concert is brought to audiences across the globe.

In the small workshop in the centre of Ortisei, pebbles, moss, seeds, wood, leaves, pinecones, and other natural materials are used to build small works of art together with the children. Thanks to this workshop the creations can be taken home and remind even after the holidays what great things can be made with such simple materials and a little imagination.

"Onesto" (A novel of Mountains and Mystery; Bompiani, 2025) The writer Francesco VIDOTTO presents the story of “Onesto” (published by Bompiani). Guido Contin, known as Cognac, is old and owns nothing but a mysterious folder filled with letters addressed to the peaks of the mountains. These handwritten pages belong to a man who signs as Onesto and tells the dramatic story of his life: his relationship with his twin brother Santo, his encounter with Celeste, war, death, and an unspoken love. In the end, the reader is in for a surprising revelation: “Sometimes, to find freedom, one must first lose it.” Free admission The event is held in Italian.

We start at the Haslhof farm above Göflan and hike on leisurely paths through meadows and forests, past the coal fields to the Göflaner Alm, where we stop for a bite to eat. Covelano marble is quarried above this mountain pasture. We then descend to the village of Tarnell above Laas. The bus picks us up again there. The famous Lasa marble, which comes from the same mountain as the Covelano marble, is processed in Lasa. On Tuesday, July 29, Al Bano & Band will enrich this year’s Seespiele program. His love for music was discovered at an early age, and he first gained attention as a young musician performing in the supporting program of Celentano. With the hit Nel Sole, an astonishing 1.3 million records were sold, and later that same year, he joined the Italian tour of the Rolling Stones. On this evening, the "Schnalser Goaßlschneller" and three young accordion players will give you a little insight into an old South Tyrolean tradition, the "Goaslschnelln" (=Whip Cracking). In the past, the "Goaßl" was used to herd the cows or to loudly wake up spring at the end of winter. Nowadays, the performances mainly serve to maintain the tradition. In case of bad weather the event will not take place!

Every Tuesday, music enlivens the city center, accompanied by events and much more. It's a popular occasion for locals from Merano, who flock into town along with visitors from the surrounding area to enjoy the summer atmosphere. For guests of the city, it's the perfect opportunity to get to know Merano and its residents. We tell you exciting stories and give you interesting facts about the Südtirol Arena and not to be missed: we will also take a look at Antholz 2026. A film about biathlon rounds off your knowledge of the sport. Finally you can feel like an elite Biathlete and try out biathlon shooting: put your marksmanship to the test with five shots. Guided tours of the biathlon stadium including biathlon shooting at realistic small-bore conditions are scheduled twice a week from June to October in German and Italian language. Discover their daily work up close by visiting a fire station, where you can observe emergency vehicles, state-of-the-art equipment, and the strategies used to ensure the safety of the community. Through stories from the members of the San Cassiano fire brigade, you will learn about their activities throughout the year and the challenges firefighters face every day, from rescue operations to fire-fighting and civil protection interventions (in Italian language). A unique experience for both young and old, focused on discovery and respect for these modern heroes!
