For two days, Kaltern will be all about its local wines. Starting from 6 pm, on Thursday, September 5th and Friday 6th 2024, at the main square, in the heart of Kaltern, the local wine producers will offer their wines for degustation. Visitors and wine lovers will have the chance to taste different wines, get informed by wine producers, cellar masters and wine experts and finally enjoy a nice conversation amongst wine enthusiasts.

From Truden, we first hike along a partly tarmac and partly paved small road and along a forest path, which is only moderately uphill and partly flat, to the meadows of the Cisloner Almen and the restaurant. Here we can stop for a bite to eat. The way back leads through the forest, across a larch meadow to a first crossroads and then on a nice level path to another crossroads with the "Jägerkreuz". The focus of this special event at the Steinegg Museum is the ancient and valuable knowledge around the power of plants & herbs. During a short tour of the museum, visitors get to know the rooms of our ancestors, where knowledge about herbs was also practised. The lovingly furnished rooms, chambers and workrooms faithfully reflect the life of our ancestors. Afterwards, our herbalist Doris Schroffenegger will introduce you to the secrets of the power of herbs and their various uses and healing powers - all under the motto: "Support your health all year round with herbs". In a workshop, each participant creates their own ribwort syrup. The syrup made on site can be taken home by the participants. The book with more than 150 pictures describes the exploration of a toy collection from Val Gardena, that of Michaela Sotriffer. Thanks to her dialogues with Monica Ferrari, she presents the reader with an educational analysis of past toys. Starting from the 1920s, the toys of the 20th century are considered in the context of Val Gardena, but she analyses also how objects that still have a lot to say today were used. It is not just an immersion in the past, but a study that raises reflections and questions about education.

A timeless jewel with an imposing keep from the 12th century in the Pustertal Valley. The castle, extended in the 15th and 16th centuries, experienced a moment of destiny in 1765 due to a fire. The train experts Martin Broy & Klaus Demar tell interesting facts about the history of the Rittner Bahn and guide you through the remise of Klobenstein & Oberbozen, afterwards special ride with historical train. This is a quote from 1907 when the people from Bozen took the railway Renon (Rittner Bahn) to their summer retreat on the high plateau. Even today, after 113 years, our railway still runs between Maria Himmelfahrt, Oberbozen and Klobenstein as the only narrow-gauge railway in South Tyrol.

From there the guided hike leads along the old narrow-gauge railway railway route via St. Magdalena and Maria Himmelfahrt back to Oberbozen. Duration: 4.5 hours, pure walking time: 3 hours. From the Zufritthaus at 1900 metres, we hike moderately steeply towards the unmanaged Pederstieralm and on to the Pederköpfl at 2490 metres. After a short rest, we descend to the Lyfialm and return to the starting point at the reservoir. At the end of September, the rutting of the Red deer begins in the Stelvio National Park. Dressed warmly, we listen to the roaring of the male deer echoing through the autumn forests. With any luck, we may also observe them. On Sunday, 29th September 2024 the event will take place all day, especially for nature photographers.

The old, unspoilt hiking trail begins at the parish church in Glorenza/Glurns and leads through meadows and fields to the restored, late Gothic St. Jakob's Church in Söles/Soles. The trail continues along a meadow path to Lichtenberg and a short climb to the ruins of Lichtenberg Castle, first mentioned in a document in 1228. A visit is possible if desired. The return to Glorenza/Glurns is via the Frauwaalweg. Elevation gain: approx. 200 metres Total walking time: approx. 4 hours Difficulty: easy hike

Carriage ride with "Pferdemayer" through vineyards and apple fields around Tramin. Stop in a local winery, in a distillery with tastings and Coffee stop. Duration 90 minutes.
