The Soirées at Tyrol Castle are held every year in June and July, on five Thursdays. Now for the 35th year, top international ensembles give impressive concerts in the Great Hall of Tyrol Castle, presenting music from different countries and cultures. During the interval you will be able to taste some culinary specialities, prepared according to original medieval recipes. The Sand in Taufers Food Festival - often copied but never equaled - is once again the meeting place for lovers of good food and entertainment in the fresh air. Four moody Tuesday nights reserved for fun and good taste!

Looking back in time, you realize how much things have changed. Way back in 1987, a group of enterprising local enthusiasts began to believe in a dream, a cycling race that starting from Alta Badia would have touched the most beautiful passes in the Dolomites. When the first Maratona took place, there was no talk about granfondo yet, the live TV broadcast was unimaginable, tourism development did not meet the current requirements and these daredevils would never have dared to hope that the "Maratona dles Dolomites" would become one of the most famous granfondo worldwide, with 8,000 participants from five continents and with over 30,000 requests of participation each year. The beauty of the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel is in riding the mountain passes that have made the history of world cycling without the harassment of cars and motorcycles. The Reschenseelauf / Giro Lago di Resia: a running experience like no other! On 12 July 2025, the picturesque Lake Reschen will be transformed into a spectacular running track. With almost 4,000 participants, the Reschenseelauf / Giro Lago di Resia is one of the biggest running events in the Alps. The 15.2km course offers breathtaking views of the largest artificial lake in South Tyrol and the majestic mountains surrounding the Ortles. Runners, Nordic walkers, handicapped and children are divided into different categories and receive a fantastic starter pack including refreshments, lunch and a free massage. At the finish line everyone gets a finisher gift and a certificate. 2025 will be a very special year for the Reschenseelauf / Giro Lago di Resia: To celebrate its 25th anniversary, there will be a spectacular night run! The race won't start at 17:00 as usual, but at 21:30 in front of the historic church tower. Over 1,000 torches will light up the track around the lake. The 21 km course, starting in Prad am Stilfserjoch/Prato allo Stelvio (915 m), leads through distinctive villages, such as the mountain village of Stilfs/Stelvio, and the nature of the high alpine Stelvio National Park. After running 2,100 metres in altitude, the runners cross the finish line above the Stelvio Pass at the Dreisprachenspitze peak at 2,845 m against the backdrop of the striking mountain landscape around King Ortles. Whether professional, hobby athlete or hiker with or without walking sticks - being there is everything!

The Giro delle Dolomiti, in its 48th edition from July 21-25, 2025, returns to the great Dolomite classics on the territories of South Tyrol and Trentino. Each stage (5 in total) will feature, a mountain time trial that will help determine the overall winner. For the rest of the route, you will pedal in a speed-controlled peloton. For five days cyclists ‘may’ explore the Dolomites and some of the most beautiful Alpine passes in the saddle of their racing bikes. The first stage (75km/1529m of altitude difference) will take them on Monday, 21 July from the Fiera Bolzano, which will remain the logistical centre, via Ora and Aldino to the pilgrimage site of Maria Weißenstein and from there back via Nova Ponente and the Val d'Ega. Just one day later, the notorious Sellaronda will be tackled from Ponte Gardena, which with a length of 107 kilometres and 3100 metres of altitude difference is without doubt the queen's stage. Two pass crossings that are very well-known among cyclists will also be faced on the 92km long section with 1691 metres of altitude difference on Wednesday, 23 July. These are the Passo della Mendola and the Passo della Palade, which will be explored from Bolzano again this time. On Thursday, the cyclists will head to the Vinschgau Valley. Starting in Prato, they will tackle the Stelvio Pass, one of the queens of the Alps, and not just because of the 48 hairpin bends on the South Tyrolean side. The Giro delle Dolomiti 2025 will conclude on Friday, 25 July on the Alpe di Siusi (80km/1775m of altitude difference), the largest plateau in Europe. In the afternoon, the traditional award ceremony will take place at the Fiera Bolzano, where the participants will hopefully look back on many unforgettable moments on the 411 kilometres with 9577 metres of altitude difference.

The village of Laas is known for its marble quarry, which attracts artists and students from many countries. But it is also known for its organic products such as fruit and vegetables and especially its juicy apricots. The Marble Village combines both at the "Marmor&Marillen" festival, with a beautiful market, food stands, live music, children's programme and where artists and sculptors exhibit their works. For more than 20 years, this cultural and fun festival has brought visitors closer to the ancient traditions of fruit growing and marble extraction in Laas.

Each year, the Merano Music Weeks offer visitors the chance to hear outstanding classical concerts, mostly in the evocative Art Nouveau atmosphere of the Merano Kurhaus.

The festival for the whole family! For the 18th time in 2025, Schluderns will be the ideal setting for the South Tyrolean Knights' Festival. In the historical ambience of Churburg Castle, Lichtenberg Castle ruins, Fürstenburg Castle and Marienberg Monastery, spectacular show battles will keep the spectators in suspense from 22 to 24 August 2025. Come along on a journey to the Middle Ages! Proud knights take aim at their opponents. They dash into battle on their elegant horses, lances burst, armour clatters, the noble lords crown their victor. The crowd cheers and marvels at all kinds of exotic and curious things. 2,000 performers from 11 countries offer the most extensive programme in the Alpine region! All attractions on the grounds are free of charge: Shows, camel and donkey rides, archery, children's tournaments, petting zoo, carousels, children's entertainment.

1,869 metres in altitude, 48 hairpin bends and an incredible all-round panorama await cyclists who get into the saddle at the Stilfserjoch Bike Day. Every year, the legendary pass road on the Stilfserjoch - one of the highest passable Alpine crossings - is closed to traffic for one day and only opened to "two-wheelers" and pedestrians. A starting point for the Stilfserjoch cycling day is in Prad am Stilfserjoch or also in Spondinig. On this popular cycling day, the aim is to conquer one of the highest Alpine crossings, the 2,760-metre-high Stifserjoch. Not a bike race, but: Being there is everything! Lowest point (START): Prad am Stilfserjoch (910 metres) Highest point (FINISH): Stilfser Joch Pass (2,758 metres) Distance Prad – Stilfser Joch: 24.96 km Difference in altitude Prad – Stilfser Joch: 1,848 metres Maximum ascent: 15% Average ascent: 9–11% Safety and road closures: The road closure for motorised vehicles (except e-bikes) applies from TRAFOI to the top of the Stelvio Pass (BZ) from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. The same closure applies from Bormio to the top of the pass (LO) and on the Siusi side, the Umbrail Pass! Helmets are compulsory for your own safety. Being there is everything! You do not need to register for the start in Prad to take part in the Stelvio Cycling Day. There is no mass start! Everyone starts for themselves. The best start time in Prad is from 6.30 am to 10.30 am. Various car parks in Prad and the surrounding area.

Since 1994, UNIKA has served as a premier platform for sculpture, painting, and photography by local and regional artists. Each year, UNIKA artists present their works at a variety of events, fairs, and exhibitions – most notably the acclaimed UNIKA Art Fair and the biennial Idea Unika – Art in the Centre. The UNIKA Art Fair proudly looks back on 31 successful years. During this time, over a hundred artists have showcased their work to a discerning and art-loving audience. A particular highlight was the anniversary edition in 2019, which featured internationally renowned artists such as Aron Demetz, Peter Demetz, Bruno Walpoth, Gregor Prugger, and Wilhelm Senoner. From September 11 to 14, 2025, the 31st edition of the UNIKA Art Fair will take place in the tennis hall of Ortisei-Runggaditsch. Sculptors, painters, photographers, and woodturners will present more than 200 unique and diverse artworks. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The fair will be officially opened with a vernissage on September 10, 2025, while Unika’s Long Night will take place on September 13 – an inspiring evening celebrating art, atmosphere, and human connection.

All four Dolomite passes around the Sella massif (Passo Gardena, Passo Campolongo, Passo Pordoi and passo Sella) are closed from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. to motor vehicles on this day, leaving the roads entirely free to cyclists. A unique chance to enjoy the freedom of these Alpine roads on your bicycle. Participation is open to everybody and completely free of charge. Start is at the Nives Square in Selva Val Gardena.

The famouse mountain run from Sesto to the Rifugio Locatelli on Saturday 13 of September will take place for the 28th time. The original route takes the maximum of 1000 participants over 17 kilometres with an elevation profile of 1333 metres on perfectly signed paths from Sesto through the stunning mountains of the Sesto Dolomites to the finish at the Rifugio Antonio Locatelli, just below the three impressive peaks that are known all over the world.

For centuries, each June shepherds have been driving their sheep from the Schnalstal Valley across the still snow-mantled saddles to graze in the pasturelands belonging to the farmers in Venter Valley in Austria. They return in mid September. About 1,500 sheep leave from the “Rofenberg-Alm“ in the early morning, reaching Hochjoch near the Bella Vista lodge (2845m) at about 11:30 a. m. The sheep arrive in Maso Corto between 3:00 p. m. The Bella Vista hut (2845 m) can be reached in about 1 hour on foot from the top station of the Roter Kofel chairlift (2543 m), follow the signs and trail number 3.

The horseracing weekend also comprises other competitions of international importance, such as the Price of Nations (which is linked to the Crystal Cup) on September 27th, whilst the main event, the 86th Meran South Tyrol Grand Prix will be held on September 28th. From Vinschger Paarlen rye bread and Puschtra Breatlan farmers’ bread to Schüttelbrot flat bread, country-style baked goods have always been an important part of life in Brixen. So it’s no surprise that the old town alone has around ten bakeries, each offering a unique selection of tempting goods. On the first weekend in October each year, Brixen celebrates its baking traditions. It is all about the almost extinct Villnösser Brillenschaf sheep. South Tyrol’s oldest sheep breed has a characterizing dark pigmentation around the eyes, and it seems really like the sheep are wearing glasses. During the culinary Lamb weeks from 3th to 12th October 2025 you may taste a variety of dishes made of this special lamb in one of the participating restaurants of Funes.

First held in 1886, the Merano Grape Festival delights with intriguing performances, delicious South Tyrolean food and a wide range of concerts (including some fairly experimental ones). Traditional folk music, chestnut market, rural dishes and chestnut specialities await visitors in the village centre of Völlan. Visit to the Völlan Farmers' Museum with traditional baking demonstrations and a presentation of local crafts. During the Chestnut Days "KESCHTNRIGGL", everything revolves around the "Tisner Kescht" (Chestnut of Tesimo). During the Chestnut Days, menus in selected restaurants feature specially created chestnut dishes. The chestnut is the protagonist of numerous events during the Chestnut Days KESCHTNRIGGL.

Keschtnriggl - Chestnut days. The Chestnut Weeks and the Törggelen in Merano and Environs have been a South Tyrolean Tradition for years. Chestnut days in Tesimo/Tisens - Prissiano/Prissian, Foiana/Völlan and Lana gets ist Name from the "Keschtnriggl" - a hand-braided basket for Peeling roast chestnuts. For three weeks, a colourful Event Programme is put on for visitors: Chestnut walks, torchlight processions from castle to castle and the "Keschtnfestl" feast in Foiana, with Music, farmers market, chestnut delicates and traditional crafts. Nestled at the foot of the snow-covered local mountain, Kronplatz, a stroll through the alleys of the old town reveals this special blend of Alpine coziness and Italian dolce vita. This is precisely why a visit to the Bruneck Christmas Market during the Advent season is an absolute must. The festive anticipation can be felt throughout the entire town. Lovingly decorated stalls invite visitors to browse through handicrafts, sweet treats, handmade decorations, and culinary delights. And with a cup of mulled wine, a winter evening can be pleasantly rounded off in good company.

The International New Year’s Eve Run BOclassic starts and ends directly at the Bolzano Christmas Market on the Walther Square. The event is an institution - since 1974 the year has been brought to a sporty end in Bolzano. Runners from all over the world meet in the provincial capital on December 31 to compete in the Raiffeisen BOclassic South Tyrol, which starts and ends at the central Walther Square. It is the last day of the year, when in the afternoon the athletes first run through the Bolzano Christmas Market, cross the old town with Piazza delle Erbe and Via dei Portici, reach the Piazza della Stazione and then - after exactly 1,250 metres - can be seen again at Piazza Walther. This is repeated eight times for the male top athletes of the BOclassic Elite, and four times for the female participants. The other four categories do fewer laps: the Just for Fun event for everyone, the 5 km long Ladurner Run, the Raiffeisen Youth Cup and the Handbike Show Run. Years ago, a starting fee had to be paid, today, the elite runners arrive exclusively on invitation. The BOclassic is the annual start of the South Tyrol Top 7 running series, which also includes the Caldaro Lake Run and the Lake Resia Run.

The magic of the Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina, which will take place for the 49th time on the weekend of 17th and 18th January 2026, is unbroken. The Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina is one of the most traditional and popular cross-country skiing races, with its enchanting routes capable of immersing lovers of narrow skis in the marvellous setting of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites of Alta Pusteria and the Ampezzo peaks. The dates for the 2026 edition have been confirmed for the aforementioned weekend, with the event returning to the popular format. For both routes, the start will be at the military airfield in Dobbiaco, from where you will head towards the finish line in Fiames - Cortina d'Ampezzo at the foot of the Pomagagnonich mountain.
