Motherhood is political. And so is the choice not to become a mother. From “It’ll happen sooner or later” to “You’ll regret it,” childless women or those who don’t intend to have children are often judged, while the “maternal instinct” is idealized and motherhood romanticized. With the most personal and intimate decision of their lives, women inevitably find themselves under public scrutiny, often losing their own voice. But what is motherhood really like? And what happens when one regrets becoming a mother? When one cannot become a mother, or when the biological clock doesn’t start ticking?

In this performance, two women openly confront all the (often taboo) issues surrounding reproduction and the ability to give life: from mental load to “regretting motherhood,” from pregnancy (and abortion) to birth culture. An intense and provocative evening that explores everything arising from the “question of all questions”: the one about children.

As every year, the traditional Niklaser Krampustag will once again take place this Friday, December 5th, in St. Nikolaus. Numerous Krampus groups will parade through the village, showcasing their wagons, traditional masks, and fur costumes in an impressive show run.

The event starts at 5 p.m., and the Niklaser Krampus will provide food and drinks. It’s sure to be an unforgettable experience for young and old alike.

The Niklaser Krampus will also be guests on Sunday, December 7th, at the Marktplatz for the event hosted by the Rostnboch Tuifl.

Angelo Pintus is an Italian comedian well known for his energetic style of humor and hilarious performances. He was born on May 21, 1975, in Trieste, Italy. Pintus has gained great popularity through his theatrical performances, later broadcast on TV and platforms, and his participation in successful television programs. The Italian comedian has been able to build a solid career in the Italian comedy scene, winning over theater audiences with his charisma, likability, and undisputed talent for improvising and entertaining.

For the first time in Selva, during the Mountain Christmas market, the Selva Theatre Group will present an enchanting Living Nativity. In a festive atmosphere filled with lights and traditions, actors in period costumes will bring the characters of the Nativity story to life, offering visitors a touching and engaging experience. The event enriches the market’s programme, adding warmth, community spirit, and authenticity to the Christmas magic of Val Gardena.

Lukas Lobis (BZ): “verwirrt” Director: Robert Palfrader Actor and cabaret artist Lukas Lobis returns to Carambolage with his successful show “verwirrt.” Through an ironic and entertaining journey, Lobis tries to untangle the confusion that grips him, encountering quirky characters and ending up in awkward situations. His path leads him to rediscover his Tyrolean roots — with a surprising conclusion. Event: Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Piccolo Teatro Carambolage, starting at 8:00 PM.

Alto Adige, 1961. La regione norditaliana è sconvolta da una serie di attentati separatisti. Mentre il giovane figlio di contadini Paul vuole sfuggire alla mancanza di prospettive del suo villaggio e studiare pittura, suo fratello maggiore Anton lotta senza compromessi per la protezione della minoranza di lingua tedesca, se necessario anche con la violenza. Dopo essere stato smascherato come uno degli attentatori, Anton fugge, abbandonando la fattoria e la famiglia. Paul rimanda a malincuore i propri progetti per sostenere Anna, moglie di Anton, e il loro figlioletto. Mentre la situazione degenera e la polizia italiana interviene con durezza, Anna inizia a ribellarsi sempre più contro le strutture patriarcali del suo ambiente. Paul, invece, deve fare la sua scelta e decidere tra lealtà familiare e realizzazione personale.

Peppi und die Haislraggler (BZ): “Verstopfte Weihnacht – Besinnliches Toilettenreinigen mit Peppi und die Haislraggler” Moritz Thuile: bass Markus Cappello: sax Martin Malfertheiner: cajon Felix Senoner: guitar Magdalena Oberstaller: violin Tobias Kompatscher: guitar, vocals The musical repertoire of the band Peppi und die Haislraggler – creators and so far the only representatives of the Toilet-Pop genre – consists mainly of original compositions. Their distinctive feature is the tension between ironic lyrics in dialect and a wide variety of musical styles. Even the band’s name is telling: they firmly claim to work full-time in sanitary maintenance and took up instruments only out of financial necessity – a side hustle to cover expensive Christmas shopping. Whether there’s any truth to that story remains a mystery… Event: Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Piccolo Teatro Carambolage, starting at 8:00 PM.

Clowning at its finest with live music, unusual juggling, and a few more surprises. A multi-layered play in which the two clowns artfully and poetically turn the certainties of everyday life upside down – and repeatedly manage to free themselves from apparent mishaps in surprising, chaotically ingenious and at the same time clownishly naive ways.
Humorous entanglements around the really important things in the pre-Christmas and Christmas season, such as sharing joy, laughter, amazement and listening to the quiet moments – full of joyful anticipation of what will happen next. The audience is thus removed from the Christmas hustle and bustle for a string of quiet, tender and also powerful moments. May this magic have a profound effect and last as long as possible!

The sixteenth edition of the festival “Corpi Eretici 2025/26”, curated by Teatro la Ribalta – Kunst der Vielfalt, opens with the premiere of “Pinocchio nel ventre della balena”, directed by Paolo Grossi, a fairy tale that recalls the adventures and misadventures of Pinocchio and his father Mastro Geppetto. Next comes “Vorrei una voce”, in which Tindaro Granata, through the voice of Mina, brings to the stage the stories and experiences of women imprisoned in Messina. With “Re Lear è morto a Mosca”, directed by César Brie, eight young actors retrace the careers of Solomon Michoels and Venjamin Zuskin, executed by the Stalinist regime because of their art. In “Vizita”, Davide Iodice reflects on intolerance toward the foreigner, inspired by H.G. Wells. Kicking off 2026 is the debut of “Studi Teatrali de La Tempesta”, directed by Antonio Viganò, a new creation born during the artistic residency with Teatro Cristallo. In February: “C’è urgenza d’azzurro”, poems by Vasco Mirandola with music by Sergio Marchesini, and “Quando gli dei erano tanti”, in which Marco Baliani tells the story of Calasso. In March, “Edipo Re”, directed by Stefano Tè and performed by inmates from the Castelfranco Emilia Prison, stages the story of the city of Thebes and Oedipus' desperate attempt to save it. In April, “Un attimo prima”, a poetic experience by Gabriella Salvaterra, will lead small groups of spectators through an intimate, sensory journey inside a labyrinth of memories, immersing them courageously in the theme of symbolic rupture and healing. In May, “La parola femminista” by Vanessa Roghi and the Writing Workshop of Experience with Lea Melandri close the program with a reflection on feminist culture. A musical experience in a place rich in history
The renowned Japanese artist guides us, with her voice and the enveloping sound of the koto, to distant and mysterious Japan. But not only that. She also takes us on an emotional journey through time, cultures, and musical genres.
After the concert, guests will have the opportunity to take part in an oriental dinner at the castle’s tavern: a perfect occasion to meet the artist and the evening’s artistic director in person.

Argo's story "is a “great little book” that strikes you straight to the heart. It makes you want to enter those events, uncovering the unspoken, giving voice to the silences, rediscovering History. The desire of Maria Ariis - one of the extraordinary performers in the show - has, therefore, also become mine. To translate all this on stage. Making active and emotional memory is the task of theatre. And everyone in life can meet Argo, that dog who reminds you who you are and where you come from' writes Serena Sinigaglia, director of this new play. An excellent writer and translator, Ciani experienced as a child the exodus from Pola, Istria, after the Second World War and recounts that tear with delicacy, through the separation from her dog York. York like Argo, Ulysses' dog, symbol of ‘home’, of waiting and of faithful friendship. His novel Storia di Argo has the breath of poetry, never falling into polemic or essay. Sinigaglia translates it on stage as a confrontation between generations: a grandmother who lived through the exodus, a mother who knew it from her mother, and a daughter who knows nothing about it confront each other today, in an intimate and human way, on that piece of history: the family dimension compared with the historical one, yesterday, today, tomorrow. With irreverent jokes, bizarre anecdotes, and officially approved one-liners. This text was not written with the help of artificial intelligence – and it shows.
