Sidewalk was born from a desire to create spaces for self-expression where they were missing. It is a participatory, safe and open environment that blurs the line between stage and audience, welcoming all forms of art and encouraging experimentation. By intertwining diverse artistic languages and mediums, Sidewalk brings together people of all ages, races, and backgrounds, fulfilling the universal need to express and to listen, while dissolving the very boundaries of language through artistic freedom. Sidewalk is a free, open space where everyone can express themselves in any way – poetry, music, theater, stand-up, anything! At the heart of Marius von Mayenburg's play is a mysterious painting: after their father's death, brothers Nicola and Philipp find a seemingly insignificant painting in the attic, signed “A. Hiller”. Or perhaps it says “A. Hitler”? That would almost be better, because its value would suddenly increase. Unfortunately, its provenance is unknown – and only with a verifiable provenance can a painting by Adolf Hitler be sold at a profit. While their Jewish sister-in-law fights hard to destroy it, Nicola and Philipp feverishly investigate their family history. Or perhaps... they invent a new one? The bear is coming out of the forest with a heavy belly from eating—the last nuts and mushrooms. His legs are heavy too—so tired before hibernation. Slowly he trudges to his bear cave. He’s looking forward to his soft hibernation bed. He will stretch out, yawn, and curl up. Then he will float lightly on it into the land of dreams. It’s time. He plops down on his bed, stretches, yawns, and curls up. But what’s this? Something is poking and pinching! The bear shakes his bed. But nothing helps, no shaking or rattling! He can’t sleep like this. And if he can’t sleep, he gets grumpy. What will happen next? Founded in Alto Adige in 2005, Alps Move is a dance theatre festival that has developed in close relationship with the Alto Adige Dance Collective. Its aim is to host and promote the local contemporary dance and experimental theatre scene with performances in venues throughout the province and the creation of a network that reaches out to other regional, national and European theatre groups and organizations. Each year Alps Move stages shows and performances created by choreographers and dancers originally from Alto Adige, many of whom now pursue their careers further afield. Regardless of age, all these artists are invited to work on new projects to be performed – and often premiered – back in Alto Adige during the October-November Festival. Invitation to an entertaining evening: On Tuesday, October 21st at 7:30 PM, a special evening with stories and songs will be held at the Nature Park visitor center in honor of Bernardin Astfäller. Michael Schaller, great-grandson of Bernardin Astfäller, will recall the butterfly researcher from Naturns and bring past times to life. He will be supported in text and song by his wife and his sister. At the same time the "Bernardin Astfäller Wall", funded by the municipality of Naturns, will be unveiled as a permanent part of the exhibition at the Nature Park visitor center. The sixteenth edition of the festival “Corpi Eretici 2025/26”, curated by Teatro la Ribalta – Kunst der Vielfalt, opens with the premiere of “Pinocchio nel ventre della balena”, directed by Paolo Grossi, a fairy tale that recalls the adventures and misadventures of Pinocchio and his father Mastro Geppetto. Next comes “Vorrei una voce”, in which Tindaro Granata, through the voice of Mina, brings to the stage the stories and experiences of women imprisoned in Messina. With “Re Lear è morto a Mosca”, directed by César Brie, eight young actors retrace the careers of Solomon Michoels and Venjamin Zuskin, executed by the Stalinist regime because of their art. In “Vizita”, Davide Iodice reflects on intolerance toward the foreigner, inspired by H.G. Wells. Kicking off 2026 is the debut of “Studi Teatrali de La Tempesta”, directed by Antonio Viganò, a new creation born during the artistic residency with Teatro Cristallo. In February: “C’è urgenza d’azzurro”, poems by Vasco Mirandola with music by Sergio Marchesini, and “Quando gli dei erano tanti”, in which Marco Baliani tells the story of Calasso. In March, “Edipo Re”, directed by Stefano Tè and performed by inmates from the Castelfranco Emilia Prison, stages the story of the city of Thebes and Oedipus' desperate attempt to save it. In April, “Un attimo prima”, a poetic experience by Gabriella Salvaterra, will lead small groups of spectators through an intimate, sensory journey inside a labyrinth of memories, immersing them courageously in the theme of symbolic rupture and healing. In May, “La parola femminista” by Vanessa Roghi and the Writing Workshop of Experience with Lea Melandri close the program with a reflection on feminist culture. In a village, hardworking farmers rest from the toil and scorching heat by listening to the stories, that the beautiful Adina is reading. They are especially amazed by the mythical tale of Queen Isolde, who makes Tristan fall in love with her with a magic potion. The tranquility of the village is shattered by the arrival of two characters: the handsome Sergeant Belcore, who immediately courts the wealthy Adina and proposes a quick marriage, arousing the anguish of poor Nemorino, who is deeply in love, but too shy and insecure to impose his presence on the girl. The other stranger is Dulcamara, who pretends to be a great doctor, a curer of all ailments, both physical and psychological, thanks to a medicine he invented. The naive Nemorino spends all his money to buy a “Queen Isolde's love potion” from the swindler Dulcamara, firmly convinced it will attract his beloved. The story unfolds cheerfully, amid toasts, dancing, and teasing, with great, rambling speeches and a surprise ending. Nemorino becomes rich thanks to an inheritance, Adina pines over the boy's departure and discovers she is in love, and everyone hopes to rejuvenate thanks to Dulcamara's medicine, who leaves with his pockets full of money.

In this year's edition of the European Art Competition, everything revolves around objects. Glasses, buckets, pots, whisks and many other everyday objects take centre stage. They can be used not only to produce sounds or perform small feats of virtuosity: the imagination of the artists knows no bounds. In addition to fame and honour, there are prizes of €4,000, €3,000 and €2,000 up for grabs. The winners will be decided exclusively by the audience! Furthermore, on the third and final evening of the festival, participants will be presented with trophies, created this year by South Tyrolean artist Laurenz Stockner. Three extraordinary performances await you: the creative percussion duo Bubble Beatz (CH), the poetic clown Fabrizio Rosselli (I/F) and the fascinating circus duo OLO Company (SE/FI). Author Rut Bernardi repeatedly pushes the boundaries of understanding because she writes in her native language, Ladin. This led her to develop wordplay and the musical interpretation of the ‘Ladin sound.’ Ladin is a Romance language whose vowels are particularly well suited to wordplay. This sound attracts the audience's attention – but it is much more than just a gimmick: the poems are intended as critical statements and are therefore also made available to the audience in translation (DE, IT). The name of the distinctive ensemble Eseleptitun – which originated in a confused dream – already suggests that musically, an idiosyncratic and multifaceted world of sound is about to be entered.
