Entertaining and rewarding hike on the south side of Kronplatz/Plan the Corones in the Ladin valley of Maréo. We hike through magical forests in the footsteps of the Salváns (forest people of the Ladin legends) against the backdrop of the magnificent Enneberg Dolomites and the glistening waters. In a short time we will reach by our own cars the delightful Ladin village of St. Vigil in Enneberg (1.200m) at the „entrance of the Fanes kingdom“. There are various prepared as well as unknown shortcuts and paths, so our experienced guide will decide at the beginning of the hike which route will be the ideal one depending on the conditions of the current terrain, ground conditions, snow conditions and so on. Foto Forum is pleased to present the exhibition Durchgangsland–Terradipassaggio. This solo exhibition by the artist Francesca Cirilli is the result of a series of residencies conceived by curator Stefano Riba and organized by Foto Forum, which took place in 2024 in the municipality of Fortezza. The geographical context depicted in Cirilli’s images, as well as in Riba’s textual analysis — featured in a self-published booklet presented during the exhibition — extends along a 15-kilometer stretch of the SS12 (Strada Statale dell’Abetone e del Brennero) between Fortezza and Mules. This short section is densely packed with traces that tell the story of the ancient, modern, and contemporary history of an area shaped around the construction of large-scale infrastructures, built by foreign labor forces. A key focus of the exhibition is on the temporary workers’ villages and the labor force of the Brenner Base Tunnel. While the tunnel construction site is an essential part of the project, Cirilli is less interested in the scale of the infrastructure itself and more in the stories of the people who inhabit and shape the spaces where they live and work. Particular attention is also given to the representation of the natural environment, where built structures create (or carve out) enclosed spaces that contrast with the open Alpine landscape.

Minimum of participants: 6, max 12 persons. At the Ansitz Waldgries Manor, in the middle of the famous wine-growing area of S. Maddalena, viticulture has a long tradition. Waldgries was first mentioned in a document in 1242. Today Christian Plattner leads the wine estate with enthusiasm and success in the 3rd generation and gives his wines a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Unique is the wine path "Zeit in Waldgries", where the visitor learns a lot of interesting facts about the winery and the daily work. At the end of the artistically designed path, the visitor is rewarded with a magnificent view of the city of Bolzano and the surrounding castles.

Sonja will provide you with information about the South Tyrolean Alpine apple, variety overview, cultivation methods, field work, processing, and marketing. You can expect a tasting of apples and apple juice from a local producer, along with a short walk through nearby orchards. Duration is approximately 1.5 hours.
