TerrAromen - The taste of the golden Autumn takes place from 26 October to 11 November and offers culinary weeks with focus on red wine, Kurtatsch olive oil and matching autumn dishes. A year full of sunshine, wind and water is being pressed and cellared from the grapes on the southern slopes of Castelbello during these autumn days. This new wine needs to be tasted! South Tyrol's winegrowers are known as unconventional thinkers who boldly took new and creative paths and thus built up one of the best winegrowing regions in Italy. As part of this year's Gourmet Autumn Naturns a number of winegrowers and cellar masters will be presenting their wineries and wine collections. (only in german and italian language) The farm, first mentioned in the 13th century as "Widum Baumannhof", once served the local parish with its large communal oven. Today, it stands for sustainable alpine farming and energy independence. From unfiltered apple juice – now award-winning – we moved on to traditional cider production. In 2012, climate change led us to experiment with wine at 1048 m altitude. Eleven grape varieties were tested, micro-vinified, and aged in amphorae and oak. Seven varieties remain, now grown and vinified as a field blend, fermented together in the old tradition. The result: mountain BIO wines full of character, freshness, and vibrant acidity – grown at 1048 meters.

We begin with a walk through the vineyards, where we explain what makes our sites unique and how we work in harmony with nature. In the winery, we show you the key steps of winemaking and give insight into our way of working. Afterwards, we taste our wines together. We’ll talk about the differences between each wine, their origins, and what makes them special. It’s a great opportunity to experience our craft up close – right where the wine is made.

We will guide you through our Gothic wine cellar and take a short tour of the vineyard just behind the cellar. We will give you an insight into the history of the farm and our passion for wine, gardens, art and cuisine, ending with a tasting of 6 wines from our range. On October 11th the inhabitants of the villages Girlan, Eppan and environs Martin is an important holiday, because it is a name day, parish fair and the end of harvest time. Therefore, many people don't work or allow themselves at least some free period, in order to enjoy the vivid market life that starts early in the morning and finishes late in the evening.

ATTENTION:currently, the tour is only offered in German and Italian After a leisurely hike along the Via Vinum Venostis wine trail accompanied by winemaker Thomas Plack, you will have the opportunity to visit the vineyard and taste four to five organic wines each where its respective variety is cultivated. At the end of the tour, the winemaker personally takes you on a tour through his cellar.

Discover the story of the South Tyrolean apple in Merano! This apple tour of Merano's fruit cooperative CAFA will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about our local fruit. After a short introductory film, you can explore the entire cooperative in the company of our apple expert Franz and follow the storage, sorting, packaging and shipping of the South Tyrolean apple. Our apple expert will let you in on all kinds of secrets about our apples' goodness, the varieties and how best to store them at home. To round off the tour there is a brief apple tasting session.
