How a team of experts is dealing with landslides and floods. Climate change and slope instability are causing hydrogeological disruptions. Thanks to expert teams of geologists, firemen, engineers and rescue volunteers, emergencies are dealt with and the area made safe. We will listen to their experiences during this evening at the hall of the San Cassiano volunteer fire brigade, which will show us their special rescue means and equipment. The building at first glance appears very modest, but stands proud and aware of its incredible significance and history. Between those planks, in fact, the famous Bohemian composer Gustav Mahler, accompanied by his beloved Alma, between the summers of 1908 and 1910, found peace and inspiration to compose some of his most beautiful and important symphonies, among them 'Das Lied von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth). After careful restoration, the composition house at the Trenkerhof finally reopens its doors to all those who want to breathe in the history and atmosphere of the Belle Epoque. During the Mahler Music Weeks in cooperation with the Santer Family, the owner of the cultural property, every visitor will have the opportunity to step back in time and breathe in the magic of those places and the surrounding nature. The guided hiking tour begins in Hinterlüsental. We soon reach the Unterpiscoi Alm (small mountain zoo) via Gunggan along the wide course of the Lasankenbach stream, which is originally filled with dolomite rock. From here we continue to the Halsl hut and then climb up to the Enzian or Schatzer hut. On the way back along the cart track, the beguilingly fragrant Swiss stone pines tempt you to linger and marvel. Passing the Rungatsch meadows, we return to the lime kiln.
