This hike at the foot of the Latemar invites you to explore the diversity of nature with its flowers and herbs. Hiking guide Irene Eder will lead the group through the stunning landscape with expert knowledge, planning a pleasant stop at a mountain hut in the region around lunchtime. Along the way, participants will learn fascinating facts about the healing properties of herbs, trees, and flowers, as well as their uses. At the heart of this relaxing hike are traditional recipes and a sense of well-being surrounded by nature. The Radlsee refuge is located high above the Eisack Valley on the legendary Radlsee lake in the basin between the Königangerspitze and Hundskopf peaks. On the way, we learn a lot about alpine herbs, mountain farming and the formation of the Alps and Dolomites. The moderately difficult hike is worthwhile with its breathtaking mountain panorama and relaxing tranquillity on the mountain. Route: Via hiking trail no. 14 and no. 10 to the Radlseehütte, same way back Start: 9.30 am Kühhof car park, hiking bus possible, walking time approx. 5 hours, basic fitness required, height difference 850 m, return at 4.30 pm P. Short circular walk (slightly uphill) of approx. 50 min. on asphalt or gravel road to the Kleinmarer farm. We visit the farm with stable, animals and garden. The experience for the whole family is rounded off with a tasting of typical farm products. The way back to the starting point takes approx. 40 min. ONLY IN GERMAN OR ITALIAN Niedereben Farm is situated at an altitude of 634 metres on Nörderberg mountain. Benefiting from the advantageous climate, olives, grapes and cacti all flourish here. The Hofer family supplies the local organic specialist retailer (Biokistl) with its fruit and vegetables and sells a variety of home produced, typical South Tyrolean organic products in their own farm shop. Cows, pigs, quails, ducks, geese and chickens all feel like “pigs in clover” on the farm! This introduction to the long history of the farm gives visitors an insight into livestock husbandry and wine growing on the Vinschgau’s Nörderberg mountain and shows the route taken from the first olives to the production of the farm’s own olive oil. The following products are available to buy directly from the farm shop: speck (bacon), salami, smoked sausages, cooked herb-crusted ham, Coppa ham, farmer’s speck, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and in the autumn months chestnuts and pumpkins, apple juice and Vernatsch wine.

The nature park rangers show you the animals that live here, how to recognise their tracks and how they live in their habitat. As young researchers, you can find out all kinds of exciting things and learn a lot about nature – outside in the fresh air or in the nature park visitor centre. On Saturday, 2nd August the Volunteer Fire Department of St. Peter is hosting an Open House all day at the St. Peter Fire Station, featuring demonstration exercises (fire, technical rescue, grease and dust explosions). From 9.00 am to 12.00 noon, you can bring your fire extinguisher for inspection again this year. As always, food and drinks will be provided!

This place of worship, located at the top of a hill, is the only one in Tyrol dedicated to Saint Verena. It was first mentioned in official documents in the 13th century. The church overlooks the northern side of the Eisack Valley, offering an extraordinary view of the Sciliar massif. Visible from afar, it stands on an ancient place of worship and the remains of prehistoric hilltop forts, which were later transformed into a Christian sanctuary

Warm summer nights, far from the artificial lights of the city. In Kasern, our magnificent starry sky can be observed especially well. Together with Sabrina Bernhard, a staff member of the South Tyrol Planetarium, we will explore the summer night sky, learn more about the formation of stars, and take a closer look at some of these fascinating objects with the help of a telescope.

On July 5th, the event will take place in the mobile planetarium, which will be set up in the cultural center in Prettau!

ONLY IN GERMAN OR ITALIAN How is honey made, how is a bee colony organised and why are these busy insects that never seem to get tired so important for us? This guided tour into the world of bees and beekeepers provides the answers to questions like these and more. Expert Christian Kessler from the Partschins Beekeeping Association give an overview of the lives of these hard-working little pollinators, show how they work in the open beehive and the amazing social behaviour of bees, and explain how honey gets from the flower to a jar with the “Made in South Tyrol” brand label on it. Equipped with the right protective clothing, participants can marvel at and literally get to grips with the inner life of the bee hive at close quarters. The guided tour also explains the role that the beekeeper plays, what exactly he does and how his activities must be strictly aligned to the course of the bees’ year. Afterwards, participants can discover the outstanding quality of South Tyrolean honey for themselves by tasting various types of honey.

Join our local village enthusiast Johanna for an especially lantern walk along the beautiful Marlinger Waalweg Trail and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere as darkness envelops the landscape and the lanterns light the way. On this special hike you will learn historical, current and legendary facts about Marling. The route takes you on a relaxed stroll through the village and along the historic Waalweg Trail. After the evening round, you’ll be welcomed at the Marling church square with sweet pastries, a glass of Marling wine, or a refreshing South Tyrolean apple juice, the perfect way to conclude a unforgettable evening. From the Gigglhirn in St. Walburg/Ultental, we hike along an ascending forest path, accompanied by the rushing of the Wildbach stream, to the Marschnellalm, the highest alpine pasture in the valley. We then hike briefly over steep mountain meadows and a short, easy ridge to reach the Peilstein with its impressive panoramic view of the Ulten mountains. During the guided tour of the "Ladinadistillery," visitors will be led through the entire process of creating Ladin distillates, from the careful handpicking of the finest fruits to their transformation into exquisite and velvety grappas. The young and dedicated team will present traditional production methods and explain how high-quality ingredients are turned into liqueurs that enchant the palate. Our fruit farmer will accompany you and tell you everything you need to know about this diverse fruit. As a culinary conclusion, you can expect a tasting of delicious apples and apple juice. E-Bike Tour – Freiberg - Merano Our Freiberg Tour begins in Algund. From there we ride along the signposted cycle track into Merano. In the spa town we ride along various side streets in the old town and soon reach the cycle track that leads into the Passeier Valley. At Lazag we leave the cycle track and reach the lovely Merano district of Obermais, from where we cycle in the direction of St. Georgen as far as Goyen Castle. Next we cross the Naif Valley and reach the Freiberg, where a fabulous view of Merano awaits us. We then cycle along Panoramastrasse to the Rauthof wine tavern, where we take a well-deserved break. The return journey is via a lovely route back down into Merano and then on to Algund. Participation at own risk. Difference in altitude: 650 metres

The sensation of cold water, walking barefoot on various surfaces, breathing and mindfulness exercises are just a few elements you will experience on this journey through the teachings of Kneipp. Together with Christine, a Kneipp and mindfulness trainer, the hike begins at the Algund Tourism Association with a cold arm bath. Afterwards, she will lead you to the "Grabbach-rivulet" where your feet will come in touch with the ice-cold water. Targeted exercises stimulate circulation and promote blood flow. Then, you will continue barefoot to the Blumenthalerhof, where you will once again come into contact with ice-cold water in a large Kneipp basin. Maria, the host, will surprise you with a healthy herbal lemonade and a snack made from fresh herbs. A day for you and your well-being awaits, and you will notice that the interplay between nature and water has an immensely soothing effect on the body.

Sonia, a passionate pastry chef from Postal, invites you into her pastry shop. You can watch her at work and give her a hand in the production of homemade ice cream. Sugar and eggs, milk and cream, fruit and flavourings are ready to be transformed into the most delicious of summer creations. With exquisite marzipan, you can shape simple figures. The preparation of filled biscuits concludes your afternoon in Sonia's pastry shop. And as a reward, there's a scoop of your favourite ice cream to enjoy.
