Trio Halma from the nearby Alta Pusteria was formed when three soloists met and discovered their common passion for "classical crossover" music: Hannes Tschurtschenthaler - vocals, Alessandra Garavello - piano, Magdalena Hintner - violin. Enjoy a summer evening with world-famous melodies by great composers and performers, combined with their own arrangements and compositions. Entry is free. During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

From September 12th to September 15th 2024, the 30th edition of UNIKA will take place in Val Gardena, where local artisans show their skills. The prestigious UNIKA Art Fair, once again hosted in the tennis hall of Ortisei -Roncadizza, proudly celebrates 30 successful years. Over a hundred artists have presented their works to a critical and art-interested audience during this time. The vernissage, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at 6.30pm.

What makes yoga at the foot of the Latemar so special? It's the silence, the nature and the breathtaking view. Together with yoga teacher Johanna Kompatscher, we hike into the extraordinary Latemar forest. This is known for its high-quality hazel spruce wood, which is well suited for stringed instruments and is sought after by instrument makers from all over the world. In this idyllic setting at the foot of the Latemar, Johanna will guide us through a meditative practice that strengthens and promotes our strength, flexibility and concentration. During the dynamic Prana Flow, we will merge our breath with movement and practice yoga with mindfulness. In his presentation "Magical Dolomites", Fabian Dalpiaz presents a selection of his most beautiful and magical photographs and short films that bring the magic of the Dolomites to life. He will tell you what is so special about his work and how he made it all the way to London and Florida with his photographs of the starry sky above the Dolomites. The event will be presented in German and Italian. No registration is required to attend the presentation. Admission is free. Admission is from 19:30 to 20:00. The focus of this special event at the Steinegg Museum is the ancient and valuable knowledge around the power of plants & herbs. During a short tour of the museum, visitors get to know the rooms of our ancestors, where knowledge about herbs was also practised. The lovingly furnished rooms, chambers and workrooms faithfully reflect the life of our ancestors. Afterwards, our herbalist Doris Schroffenegger will introduce you to the secrets of the power of herbs and their various uses and healing powers - all under the motto: "Support your health all year round with herbs". In a workshop, each participant creates their own ribwort syrup. The syrup made on site can be taken home by the participants. Approach into the Schnalstal Valley (ca. 1 hour) to the starting point in Vernagt/Vernago. The ascent is via Tisental Valley to the Similaunhütte at 3,020 m. After a rest, the route continues over partly pathless boulder terrain to the discovery site, where a stone pyramid stands. Here you will find lots of information about how Ötzi was found. Forest hike to places of power & natural monuments with nature coach Helga Tschager. The bus takes us up from Welschnofen | Nova Levante to the Adler bus stop. From there we hike along path [25] to the Staldalm farm, where we are offered a picturesque view of the alpine pastures and mountain landscape of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio and Latemar. Via path [27] we return to the bus stop from where we started the hike. Return to Welschnofen | Nova Levante by bus. The soothing and relaxing atmosphere of the forest gives us the opportunity to rediscover the "fascination" of nature, recharge our batteries and free ourselves from the negative thoughts that are constantly buzzing around in our brains. We learn to relax again, to see, hear, feel, smell and taste. As we walk mindfully through the forest, we do thought exercises, recharge our lungs with oxygen, find centuries-old trees like the "snake tree" that have been growing in magical places for 600 to 700 years and are full of positive energy. On 13 September 2024, the 19th DYNAFIT Transalpine Run will start its seven-day journey across the Alps, from Lech am Arlberg in Austria through Switzerland to Prad am Stilfserjoch in South Tyrol. This year, after a long time, St. Valentin will be the stage finish between Stage 5 and Stage 6. With the start of Stage 5 in Scuol and climbing the Sesvenna mountain range, the participants catch their first glimpse of the lake landscape at the Reschen Pass. After a descent and a recovery phase in St. Valentin, Stage 6 takes the participants through the fairytale view of the Upper Vinschgau with a view of King Ortler in the background towards Prad am Stilfserjoch. Including all stages, there are 268 kilometres and 15,330 metres of altitude difference to be covered.

UNIKA's Long Night 2024 Concert by the South Tyrolean singer-songwriter Max von Milland. Starts at 8:30 PM - Doors open at 8:00 PM Max von Milland, the South Tyrolean singer-songwriter, takes you on a musical journey that traverses the entire world, yet always carries South Tyrol in his luggage. If one could pack South Tyrol into songs, Max von Milland would certainly come closest to the sound. His music embodies the essence of the region around Brixen - his homeland. The singer-songwriter encapsulates the language and the spirit of South Tyrol in a unique style, deeply rooted in his homeland yet as cosmopolitan as Max himself. On a journey to self-discovery, he moved from metropolis to metropolis, only to discover that South Tyrol always accompanied him. The memories, the language, the people - all contribute to what makes home. This unique path shapes his style today: modern and traditional, cosmopolitan and approachable. Because Max von Milland carries the world in his heart, and his homeland on his tongue.

The book with more than 150 pictures describes the exploration of a toy collection from Val Gardena, that of Michaela Sotriffer. Thanks to her dialogues with Monica Ferrari, she presents the reader with an educational analysis of past toys. Starting from the 1920s, the toys of the 20th century are considered in the context of Val Gardena, but she analyses also how objects that still have a lot to say today were used. It is not just an immersion in the past, but a study that raises reflections and questions about education.

Accompanied by the instructors of the Bike School, enter the heart of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and be enraptured by the spectacle offered by the forests and mountains of the Dolomites. But it‘s not only your eyes that will be satisfied: you are in a true MTB paradise and can fully enjoy yourself in a rollercoaster of breathtaking ascents and descents. Please note: the route has a minimum altitude difference of 1000 m. To enjoy the experience at its best, and to make it accessible to everyone, we ask you to use an electric bike. Bike and helmet are not included.

In case of bad weather the event will be cancelled.

Mundane celebration of the Putzer Kreuz and alpin festival

Up to 2,200 sheep and 300 goats set off from the Niedertal Alm Mountain hut in Vent valley (A) in the early morning, moving upwards through high-Alpine terrain (not dangerous) to Giogo Basso/Niederjoch (3,019 m) or the Refuge Similaun, the first group in the herd arriving at about 9:00 a.m. The most dangerous part of the return journey begins here, particularly if there is snow on the ground or the trail or parts of it are icy. Below the hut, the procession winds downhill on quite a narrow trail through steep and rocky terrain (down to about 2,600 m). The ground then becomes more level and less dangerous. After a short respite in the centre of Tisental valley, the herd continues down the mountain towards Vernago/Vernagt, arriving just before 2:00 p.m. From far away (1/2 hour before it arrives) you can already see the never-ending line of sheep. Accommodation and refreshments available at the Mountain hut Martin Busch and the Refuge Similaun.

The traditional monthly market is held on the market square from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.
