    Patronal festival at Soprabolzano
    Ritten/Renon, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
    Patronal festivity at the fairground in Oberbozen. Every year on August 15, the Oberbozen music band organizes this traditional and widely known event. The day begins with a Mass at 8.30 a.m. followed by a procession and blessing of herbs at Maria Himmelfahrt. Brunch starts at 11 a.m. at the festivity ground with music by the band. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., the band invites you to the themed parade. Different music bands of South Tyrol accompany the parade, as well as Rittner alphorn musicians, folk dance group, “Goaßlschnöllern”, horse riders. In the evening live music and dancing

    Concert and traditional confetti battle
    Niederdorf/Villabassa, Dolomites Region 3 Zinnen
    At 8.30 p.m. parade through the village with lanterns, followed by a confetti fight and concert by the Niederdorf music band at the music pavilion in Niederdorf. In case of rain, the event will be held on 16 August. Exactly year in, year out, on 15 August, 'Ferragosto Day', there is a huge fun day in Niederdorf. Fun for young and old in the middle of summer is the confetti battle at the music pavilion. This event was first mentioned in the chapel's chronicle in 1924. A lantern procession for children, accompanied by the Niederdorf music band, opens the event at 8.30 pm. Of course, there will be a concert by the band at the pavilion afterwards. You simply have to be there - otherwise you've really missed out on something great.

    At the harvest from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the church field in the centre of the village, the crops are cut with a scythe, bundled into sheaves and the Kornmandlan, or “grain people”, are stood up to dry.     Every year in Italy, the feast of Ferragosto, is celebrated on the 15th of August. The holiday refers to the Assumption of Mary into heaven and marks the hottest day of summer and is thus also considered the „turning point of summer “. The feast day begins with a High Mass at 09.00 a.m. in the parish church of Ortisei, during which the traditional consecration of medicinal herbs and flowers takes place. After the Holy Mass there is a folkloristic procession in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The day will be musically framed by the alpine horns „Ladinia“ at 10.00 a.m. along the pedestrian area. At 9.30 p.m. there will be a concert on the little S. Antonio Square.
