We set off into Valle di Braies Vecchia by minibus from San Candido and using the snow-covered road towards Prato Piazza we reach the 2000 meters high alpine plateau. From there it’s a short walk to Rifugio Prato Piazza (base camp). There, we put on our snowshoes. Past Swiss pine woods we gently cross the high plateau and climb Monte Specie (2,307 m). A stunning circular view and intense winter fun for relatively small climbing effort. Refreshment stop possible at the end of the hike. Anna-Maria from the Kronlechnerhof farm is a farmer with passion. On her farm in Welschnofen | Nova Levante there are various animals and in summer she has a colourful garden with all types of vegetables and fruits. This adventure will be the start of an amazing day on the slopes, where you will leave the first marks on the freshly groomed slopes. A professional ski instructor of the ski school Ortisei will join you on your first ride of the day, giving you valuable tips and advices to further enhance your skiing technique, while skiing down the famous pista “Longia”, a 10km long ski slope at Seceda. And that is not everything: a rich breakfast will await you at the Val d’Anna cabin.

Snowshoe tour along the crest of Rasciesa in direction Brogles to the hut Geisleralm. Stopover at the hut followed by a joint toboggan run down to St.Magdalena/Ranui. Arrival by cab via Val Gardena to Ortisei to the valley station Rasciesa (1.304m). Our tour begins with the ride of the funicular (fee required) to the Rasciesa (2163m). From the top station, take trail no. 35, to the Brogles Hut (2054m). Behind the hut the path joins the Adolf Munkel path, which was built as early as 1905. You walk at the foot of the Sas Rigais until you finally reach the Geisler Alm (1996m) via the 34 path. After a comfortable break, the descent by a toboggan (for a fee) or by foot (by arrangement) follows via the 34 path to Ranui (1350m). Here the cab is already waiting to take us back to Lajen.
