Rising between the mountains Telfer Weißen and Wetterspitze, the the mountain peak Seeberspitz reaches an impressive 2,567 metres – a striking peak in the southern Stubai Alps. To save some elevation gain, we take the Ladurns cable car up to the mountain station. From there, our scenic and varied hike toward the summit begins.
The panoramic trail takes about three hours and leads through stunning alpine landscapes. It first crosses expansive alpine meadows, dotted with larches and wildflowers, and passes the picturesque Lake Seeber, a tranquil mountain lake nestled between rocky slopes. Beyond the lake, the trail becomes more demanding: scree fields and rocky terrain require sure-footedness, a head for heights, and good fitness.
At the summit, a breathtaking 360° panorama awaits: from the rugged Stubai Alps and the majestic Tribulaun to the distant Dolomites and far down into the Pflerschtal Valley – a view that rewards every step.
The Seeberspitze is a hidden gem for those seeking a blend of alpine challenge, nature immersion, and panoramic variety. A rewarding hike for peace-seekers and ambitious mountain lovers alike – powerful, clear, and unforgettable.

On this adventure hike, we immerse ourselves in a time when life still had an uncomplicated course, when there were no access roads to the mountain meadows, the tools were simple and basic, yet sophisticated, and of course there was no smartphone for a long time.
We set off on foot and reach the mountain meadow, where we will explore the topic of mountain hay, not just thematically.
For this weeks version "Light" we go to a mountain meadow at the end of the Ratschings valley. The exact location has not yet been decided. It will probably be the meadow about 300 m behind the Kneipp facility. The starting point is the Ratschings Jaufen cable car valley station (also accessible by bus), from where we will continue together towards the end of the valley.

What varieties of mushrooms inhabit the forests of Alta Badia across different seasons?
How do mushrooms contribute to the balance and biodiversity of forest ecosystems? What cultural and historical role do mushrooms play?
How can the properties of mushrooms illuminate new paths in pharmacological science?
What responsible and sustainable methods can be adopted in mushroom foraging?
At least once, we've all 'gone' mushroom picking. But there's a difference between going and truly seeing. In the company of Andrea, an enthusiastic mycologist, it's possible to view the forest from the mushroom's perspective. This shift in viewpoint is exhilarating, fascinating, and unique: suddenly, the mushroom is not just a fruit of the earth but a connector that binds every form of life within the forest ecosystem.
We are in the forests of La Val, areas that transform with the seasons, home to a variety of mushrooms that includes more than just the familiar porcini and chanterelles. With Andrea, the journey becomes a sensory and cognitive adventure where each encountered mushroom serves as a pretext for stories of ecology, biology, and chemistry. Thus, learning transforms into an art: the art of identifying, collecting, and respecting mushrooms and of discovering the wonders of the fungal kingdom, thanks to their extraordinary medicinal properties that often have anticipated new frontiers in pharmaceutical research.

When the scent of freshly baked bread drifts over Obergummer, it can only mean one thing: it's baking day again at the Untereggerhof.
Gottfried, the farmer and host, fires up the old stone oven and takes you on a little journey back to a time when baking bread was still pure craftsmanship – done by hand, with heart and tradition.
From mid-May to early October, you can join in every second Friday to watch how flour, water and years of experience come together to form a crusty farmhouse loaf.
And who knows – Gottfried might even share one or two secrets of his recipe with you.
Of course, there’s also a tasting: oven-warm, fragrant and wonderfully simple – this is what South Tyrol tastes like, one bite at a time.
