The large-scale clean-up campaign is organised by the non-profit association Patron. For the first time, eight South Tyrolean destinations and their respective nature parks are taking part, and IDM South Tyrol is also taking part. Anyone can take part

From 18th to 21st September, we will join together to collect waste thanks to the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days. The project is organised by the non-profit association Patron. As part of the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days, 13 South Tyrolean destinations are calling for nature to be cleared of rubbish. The clean-up takes place in Eggental, Seiser Alm, Villnösstal, Olang, Südtirols Süden with Aldein and Radein, Ahrntal, Dolomiten Panorama Region Gsiesertal-Welsberg-Taisten, 3 Zinnen Dolomites, Lana & surroundings, Gitschberg-Jochtal, Lüsen, Ratschings and Tschöggelberg. Furthermore, in IDM South Tyrol we have found a partner who cares as much about our planet as we do. The concept is easy to explain: by forming small groups, numerous nature lovers set out to collect rubbish scattered in forests, on the shores of lakes, in municipalities... in short, wherever rubbish has been left behind. Anyone can participate: Registration and coordination of the routes takes place via the CleanUP Map (interactive map) at www.patron-nature.org/en/cleanup/south-tyrol. The South Tyrol CleanUP Days are entering their third round - for the first time on the Tschögglberg! Whether alone, with friends, family or work colleagues: Choose your route, pick up a free CleanUP kit and enter your route on the interactive map. The result is a digital map full of commitment to a clean future. The three tourism associations from the Tschögglberg (Hafling-Vöran-Meran 2000, Mölten, Jenesien) have joined this campaign for the first time. There are also 13 other destinations throughout South Tyrol - from the Seiser Alm to the Ahrntal. Many hotels, businesses, cable cars and tourism professionals are taking part and sending out a signal for more responsibility in tourism. The South Tyrol CleanUP Days are part of the PATRON CleanUP Tour 2025, a supra-regional environmental initiative that operates in the German- and Italian-speaking Alpine region from spring to autumn. The event is backed by a strong network: in addition to IDM Südtirol, PATRON e.V. and the participating tourist destinations, the Provincial Department of Nature, Landscape and Spatial Development, the South Tyrolean Nature Parks, the South Tyrolean Alpine Association AVS and the Raiffeisen Association South Tyrol also provide support. The roots of the project lie in the working group of tourism associations for the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose commitment has since inspired many other regions. The event is supported by the Merrell Fund and other regional and national partners. The CleanUP Days South Tyrol are a joint initiative in support of nature and environmental protection. From September 18 to 21, 2025, dedicated people all over South Tyrol will remove refuse from nature, helping to preserve a clean and unspoiled landscape.

CLEANUP KITS

To help with litter collection, a free CleanUP Kit is provided, consisting of a rubbish bag and a durable stainless-steel litter picker. The kit can be picked up at one of the designated collection points.

THE CLEANUP MAP

With the CleanUP Map, participants can enter their own collection routes, choose from existing ones, and document their activities. This makes it visible how many people are taking part and where collections have already been done. Simply scan the QR code to access the CleanUP Map.

Clean up together for a healthy nature! From September 18 to 21, 2025, the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days return to South Tyrol: four days to get outdoors and collect litter together! The event is organized by the non-profit association PATRON, which inspires people to actively take care of the environment. This year, 13 South Tyrolean destinations are participating. The idea is simple: nature enthusiasts form small groups to pick up litter – in the mountains, forests, along lakes, or in towns – wherever it is needed. Participating not only makes a real difference for the environment, but also offers a special outdoor experience shared with others. Each participant receives a free CleanUP Kit, including a reusable bag and a high-quality stainless steel litter picker, available at designated distribution points. Mountain hike, starting from Flading (1,485m), via trail no. 30 to the Gleckalm (2,265m - not serviced). The first part of the ascent takes us through predominantly wooded terrain via the so-called Stiegen up to the altitude of the Klammalm. This is followed by a short, flatter section before we tackle the second altitude level. Passing the impressive Gleckbach waterfall, we quickly gain altitude. Another beautiful waterfall, which flows into a deep basin, can be seen at the top of the second altitude step. After reaching the ridge, the plateau of the Gleckalm opens up with great views. Take a picnic break here or at the nearby Gleckalm mountain hut. The return route follows the ascent path in the upper section and then leads us to the Klammalm, where a stop for refreshments is planned. We then descend to Flading via trail no. 12. Total distance: 9.2 km Ascent altitude: 780 m Total duration: 7 hours (including breaks) Difficulty: challenging - short, slightly exposed sections, surefootedness is required, good physical condition is essential. The volunteer association PATRON e.V. organizes the PATRON CleanUP Days, a cleanup campaign held from spring to autumn to raise awareness of nature and environmental protection. These events take place in various regions for a few days at a time. This year, the Südtirol CleanUP Days will once again take place in South Tyrol – and for the first time at Merano 2000! Under the expert guidance of Melanie, herbalist and phytotherapist, we will discover the treasures of nature and learn exciting facts about traditional folk medicine and modern wild herb cuisine. On our leisurely walk to the Alpine pasture Tablander Alm, we will learn which medicinal plants grow right on our doorstep, how to recognize them and what mythical stories surround them. Adventure, adrenalin and breath-taking views: all this lies store for you in the exciting 4 Peaks Alta Badia challenge. The aim of this challenge is to conquer the four summits Sas dla Crusc - Santa Croce 2,907 m, Piza dales Diesc - Cima Dieci 3,02 6m, Lavarela 3,055 m and Conturines 3,064 m, on the edge of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage. The ascent of these four mountains is to be attempted only by experienced climbers, as these peaks cannot be reached just on easy, well-sign-posted paths, but also via routes with some very exposed sections. As proof of your achievement you will have a pass which must be stamped every time you reach one of the four summits. All those who manage to complete the challenge in two or more days will have the title “Alta Badia Finisher” conferred upon them. If you manage to complete the ascent of all four summits in one day you will be crowned with the coveted and highly deserved title of “Alta Badia Mountaineer”. In both cases you will take up your place of honour in the “Wall of Fame” which can be viewed online.

Canyoning is the adventurous descent of streams. Slides, dips and long descents allow us to walk and swim in incredible and spectacular environments.

Via Bozen-Trient–Verona (short stay at a motorway station), we drive along the motorway to Padua and Venice. Arrival at around 10 a.m. By boat, we make our way to Saint Mark’s square in the centre of Venice. The city is built on 118 islands and offers many palaces and churches, romantic water ways and bridges, which bear witness to the former glory of the town. We stay in Venice for approx. 5 hours and return back via the Val Sugana to Trient and from there to Bozen and Schenna.

We start directly in Brixen – pedaling our way to the valley station of the Plose cable car. The Plose gondola takes us comfortably up to 2,023 meters, but from there on, it gets sporty: A scenic ride to the Pfannspitzhütte awaits us, with a challenging climb just before the hut. We will stop here - the CAI Hut is currently closed for renovation. Well-rested, we continue to the CAI Hut, the entry point to the legendary downhill route CAIDOM. Admiring the sunrise in the mountains is an unforgettable experience that captures us with its charm - goose bumps guaranteed.
