Wilde Kreuzspitze (3,134 metres) is the highest peak in the Pfunders mountains, and commands a breath-taking all-round view of the Zillertal Alps. From the meeting point, we will drive together to the starting point of our excursion, located by the Fane Alm car park (1,700 metres). From there, we will take the forest path that leads through the Valler Schramme gorge all the way to the Labesebenalm pasture (2,138 metres). This is where the climb to the Wildensee lake (2,580 metres) and on to the Rauhtaljoch saddle (2,807 metres) begins. From the saddle, a somewhat exposed trail will lead us to the Wilde Kreuzspitze peak (3,134 metres). The way back to the starting point is via Rauhtal to the Brixnerhütte hut. Guided BIketour - Meran 360° Our 360º tour through the Etsch Valley starts in Algund. From there we ride towards Gratsch and then to the Segenbühel viewing point from where we then head towards Merano. Taking several side roads we reach the cycle track leading to Bolzano. At Gargazon we leave the cycle track and reach the fabulous Brandis golf course, from where we pedal towards Tscherms. At Tscherms we ride uphill towards Lebenberg Castle, where we can look forward to a wonderful view of the Burggrafenamt region. At the Haidenhof inn we take a well-deserved break. The sky above the Weißhorn is the focus of a nocturnal hike under the motto ‘A look into the past’ on Wednesday, 14 August in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site Bletterbach with the Planetarium South Tyrol, the amateur astronomers ‘Max Valier’ and the South Tyrol Museum of Nature. During the nocturnal excursion on the Jochgrimm, stargazers and geology enthusiasts will not be gazing into the deep Bletterbach gorge for once, but will instead turn their attention upwards to the sky above the Weisshorn. With the help of two telescopes, David Gruber, Director of the South Tyrol Museum of Nature, and Brigitte Lintner from the amateur astronomers ‘Max Valier’ will be able to observe the moon with its craters, the planet Saturn, the Milky Way and - with a bit of luck - many a shooting star. Geologist Benno Baumgarten will explain the special features of the planets, as the Bletterbach Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site has more in common with the distant celestial stars than you might think at first glance. An open-air exhibition on the Jochgrimm will once again impressively demonstrate the parallels between Bletterbach and Mars and can be viewed before the evening event.

After a well-deserved stop at the refuge, we have two options to return to the valley: either we descend along the same road on which we ascended or we take a path and experience some new emotions.
