Our adventure begins in the Visitor Centre! During a short guided tour we will discover the Dolomites. How did they form? Is it true that they used to be in the sea? What will they become in the future? Why are they so special? How many things are there to learn about these fascinating mountains! And then everyone out! Our adventure continues with an excursion to Lake Toblach. During this hike we can immerse ourselves deeply in nature and learn a lot about it. What are plecoptera larvae? What does their presence indicate? Which animals live in the forest? Do carnivorous plants also exist in the mountains? Many topics will be covered. Each participant will be given an observation magnifier, do you know it? These are useful jars with a magnifying glass on the lid, an indispensable tool for field research. A true Ranger cannot do without one! In the afternoon, back at the Visitor Centre, there will finally be the awarding of the Dolomiti Ranger diplomas! The history of the Lagazuoi is mostly known for the battles between Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies during the First World War. It was soon clear to both sides that the best protection from enemy artillery fire was provided by the mountain itself and so both armies began to excavate galleries and caverns in the mountain with the intent of blowing up their adversaries, transforming Piccolo Lagazuoi into a natural fortification. Today the galleries are open to public. We kindly ask you to take your own car. The wind, the bare rock and a panorama that only a few can claim to have seen. Nothing else can distract you from one of the most adrenaline-pumping and spectacular hikes in our area. The reward for challenging your limits? The 360-degree view from the summit of Piz da Peres, with the view stretching from the peaks of the Ahrntal valley to the glaciers of Austria. The hike is also suitable for beginners; only the easy section of the via ferrata is tackled. Should the guide judge the group to be sufficiently experienced, the entire via ferrata can be hiked. From there, we hike through the Latemar forest and after about an hour we change to the Latemar ridgeway. Below the "Erzlahn" at the foot of the imposing Latemar, we take a short break to enjoy the panorama. We continue along the high route with marvellous views of the Brenta Dolomites and as far as the Ortler region. After the 360° viewing platform, we descend to the Oberholz hut, where we can take a lunch break. We then descend for about an hour to the bus stop in Obereggen, from where we return together to Welschnofen | Nova Levante. This exciting and eventful event at the Runster Mill, on the Sonnenberg mountain Naturno, fascinates young and old! Accompanied by a guide, you hike slightly uphill to the Runster mill in approx. 30 minutes. Exciting stories and legends about Naturno are told along the way. Franz Fliri and Walter Müller from the Naturno/Plaus local history association will be waiting for you at the mill. Franz will tell you about the Runster Mill and its history. If you like, you can also take some of the freshly ground flour home with you and bake your own bread rolls. As soon as you arrive, at the starting point in front of the tower in Resia Lake, you will learn more about the tragic history of the lake damming. The route then takes you up the hill to St. Anna's Church and on to the Upper Vinschgau Valley Museum. The museum provides information about the destruction and reconstruction of the villages of Curon and Resia in an extensive photo documentation. The exhibition also presents sacred artefacts as well as historical objects from everyday farming life in the past. You will then travel by public transport to Resia. Here you have free time for lunch or to explore the village until 3:00pm. From the Resia sports ground, the tour continues to the Bunker at the Source of the Adige River no. 20, where you will learn about the history of the construction and use of the bunkers of the Alpine Wall around the Resia Pass.
