Hike to the “Schöne Aussicht” (1,460 m)
This idyllic tour takes you from Niederdorf/ Villabassa past the parish church, along the gently ascending Eggerberg street to the bend after the "Brandhäusl" (trail no. 45). Here you turn into a quiet forest path and hike to the farm "Thaler".
The path continues almost flat to farm "Kleinsinner" before you follow the road to the “Schöne Aussicht” (1,460 m). A fantastic panoramic view over the Pustertal valley awaits you there - perfect for a relaxing break.

We park the car on the parking place above the "Tröglerhof". On the trail nr. 3 we go to the Nixenteich. And then are two possibilities to hike: a.) We take the trail nr. 4A and then nr. 27. We follow the way and arrive at "Stangen" and Briol. Than we choose the way nr. 4 to Dreikirchen/Trechiese. From that point we take the trail nr. 6 to "Feistegg" and then the way nr. 3 back to the parking place. b.) We hike on the trail nr. 4A below the "Huber Kreuz". On the way nr. 4 we arrive at Briol and then to Dreikirchen/Trechiese. For the return we take the trail nr. 6 to "Feistegg" an then 3 to the parking place.
A pleasant hike along the idyllic Lake Gioveretto
This 7 km-long tour starts behind the Gasthaus zum See where you take the easy forest road along the Lake Gioveretto. This pleasant easy hike along the artificial lake invites you to dream and stop. Val Martello’s splendid panorama is a must if you spend your holiday in Val Venosta. Start at the lakeshore and go until the dam wall. You can return on the same way or choose path no. 17 at the dam wall to enjoy a small circular hike through the forest.
Easy and interesting walk with many views from Tisens/Tesimo and Prissian/Prissiano. Suitable for push chairs, section illuminated at night.
The hike starts directly at the mountain station Monte Elmo, reachable by the cable car from Sesto or the cable car from Versciaco. From there it goes over a wide forest road slightly uphill to the Rifugio Gallo Cedrone.
By the 3rd turn follow the trail 1 upwards, passing by the old mountain huts and following the trail along the hillside through the valley. On the serpentines upwards the grass slope to the Hochfeiler mountain hut (2715m). Lunch possibility: Hochfeilerhütte mountain hut.
Depending on your preference, you can start this hike in San Cipriano-Tires, at the Passo Nigra or directly at the Malga Frommer hut. Always follow the hiking trail [1A], which leads at the foot of the Rosengarten/Catinaccio below the street Via Nigra.
An easy and interesting mountain hike which is not too strenuous, ideal for families. Starting at Schöneben/Belpiano mountain station, a gently rising hiking trail leads up to the edge of the forest with wonderful views of the mountain scenery, the imposing glacier giants of the Weißkugel and Ortler mountains and the turquoise Resia Lake. The descent to the Haideralm/Malga S. Valentino is easily manageable. From the Haideralm to the village of St. Valentin either hike or take the cable car. Use public transport to get from St. Valentin back to Reschen.
Note: It is also possible to start this hike from the Haideralm.
Marvelous hike at the foot of mighty glaciers. This tour to Rifugio Nino Corsi, surrounded by the many three-thousanders of the Ortler Alps starts on the right hand side of Gasthaus Schönblick.
The hike starts directly at the mountain station Monte Elmo, reachable by the cable car Sesto or the cable car Versciaco. From there it goes to the Rifugio Larice and further on the Mitterberg to the valley station Monte Elmo Sesto.

A scenic circuit along the steep southern slopes of the Aferer Geisler mountains in Villnöss/Funes.
Starting in the center of the village of Cermes, taking Baslinger Strasse and Lebenberger Strasse the route heads somewhat steeply uphill to Lebenberg Castle (one of the most beautiful residences in our area). It is possible to visit the castle between April and beginning of November every day except Sunday, and this is well worthwhile. From there the trail continues to head uphill for a short while to the former Tauferer Badl, then branches off to the right past the ruins of Holdersberg Castle.
From there a road leads downhill, past Halbweg to the hairpin bend with the sign pointing to the Marlinger Höhenweg high mountain trail. Now the trail continues with only a slight difference in altitude, past the Ausserholzmoar Hof farm, reaching the Senn am Egg inn after approx. 2 hours. For those who do not wish to return via the same route, it is possible to continue the descent to Forst on this trail and then either walk back along the Marlinger Waalweg irrigation channel path or take the bus back, the Busline 213 Partschins-Algund-Meran.
The hike starts directly at the mountain station Stiergarten and leads from there always slightly downhill to the Malga Klammbach, the Malga Nemes and the Coltrondo and from there on over to the middle station of the cable car Stiergarten. There you can take the gondola back to the valley.
Take the Eisack boardwalk in Vipiteno/Sterzing and follow the trail in direction South with your view on Sprechenstein castle. By the river junction on the left along the boardwalk of the Pfitsch river to the Wiesen/Praticomunal park. Return to Vipiteno along the cycle path. Lunch possibilities: Parkbar Wiesen/Prati, Gasthaus Lex, Ristorante Hotel Wiesnerhof.
The hike starts by the Borgone hamlet, near the Vizze high valley entrance, and runs through the Borgone valley up to the timberline. The path crosses the interesting limestone sources of Borgone. The trail is passing some mountain huts (no service) and crosses the northern hill of the Finsterstern summit and leads along a joke to the Simile Mahd Alm mountain hut (2011m).
From the center of the village of Gargazzone we head in the direction of Merano as far as the edge of the village, where, before the bridge, we turn into Aschlbachstrasse past a few houses and then along a path through the meadows to Vöranerweg.
Another possibility would also be to start from the main road and pass the Turmwirt inn and then take Vöranerweg uphill. At the sweeping right-hand bend we cross to the left over the bridge over the Aschlbach.
The route then winds steeply uphill to the Morosing, Pfontscher and Steger farms. The view into the romantic Aschlbach gorge should not be missed. From there we can either take the easy road to the center of the village of Verano or chose the steeper, yet more picturesque footpath to the mountain station of the Verano Cable Car.
A circular hike to Außerraschötz with steeper sections and a beautiful panoramic view on Villnöss valley and Val Gardena.
Starting point is the roundabout in Völs, from where you follow up to Fiè di Sopra/Umes. Turn left at the Hotel Heubad and continue along trail no. 1. The sunny path leads past some farms until you reach the Völser Weiher lake after 45 minutes.
The thirty-minute descent along trail no. 13 to St. Konstantin/ S. Costantino, passing historic summer retreat residences along the way, is recommendable. After a short break at the picturesque church, follow the trail through the meadows and woods back to Völs. This loop-route can also be hiked in the opposite direction.
Starting point: Prati (948m). From the castle Moos (Trautson street) follow the signpost no. 24 and walk towards Flains. Before reaching the hamlet turn right across the marked forest path no. 25A uphill to the “Klauserhof”. Across another forest path you reach a road, which leads to the snack station Braunhof. Alternative: different possibilities, f.e. the marked trail no. 25 or 3
Tip: “Blattler mit Kraut”, children’s playground, accessibly by car.
Moderately difficult hike to the idyllic "Gfrillner Laugenalm" with wonderful views.
This variety-packed loop route begins in Ums, leads to the Hofer Alpl and Tuff Alm huts high above Völs, passes by the Laghetto di Völser Weiher and Huber Weiher lakes and is inspectacular proximity to the mighty rock faces of the Schlern and the Hammerwand. The tenants are on the Tuff Alm hut are passionate about animals so it is not unusual to find camels, alpacas, rabbits, donkeys and horses on the pastures.
This varied forest, alpine pasture and meadow hike offers wonderful nature experiences and impressive views.
From the main square `Von Kurz` in Niederdorf/Villabassa (1,154 m), follow the signs (no. 15) and hike through idyllic forests and alpine meadows to the Putzalm hut (1,743 m) - a perfect place for a break with panoramic views. The way back is via the familiar route.
If you want to hike further: the trail climbs gently to "Buchsenriedl" (1,803 m) before descending via the "Kameriotwiesen" meadows to Altprags (1,379 m) (no. 15).
From there you follow the Plätzwiese/Prato Piazza road past "Plung" to the "Säge". The way back to Niederdorf/Villabassa is easy via trail no. 1 (approx. 1 hour).

This winter hike starts in Saltria and leads past the Floralpina and Tirler hotels to the refuge Berghaus Zallinger and the church of the same name, in the immediate vicinity of the Plattkofel valley basin.
