This easier hike takes you to the idyllic Lech Sant (Ladin name for 'holy lake'), which is the largest mountain lake on the Alpe Mastlé. The meadow surrounding the lake with magnificent view oth the Odle peaks invites to linger and relax.
Head out from Cristauta car park and follow the ‘Troi dla Schirlates’ (the squirrel path) which is recognisable by a stylised squirrel on its signposts. The hiking trail leads to a clearing and then across Val Gardena’s typical conifer forests. Walk past smaller lakes until you reach the largest mountain lake on the Mastlé mountain pasture – idyllic Lech Sant, which is Ladin for ‘holy lake’. Take some time to admire the scenery and the stunning, mountain panorama. Return to the starting point via the forest path.
At the beginning of the summer season, some sections may still be snow-covered, depending on weather conditions. Please enquire about conditions before setting off on your hike.
