The snowshoe walk to the Haniger Schwaige hut (closed in winter) takes you below the imposing face of the Rosengarten massif and under the Vajolettürme, giving you a truly unique experience of the countryside. Given that the trail leads over steep mountain meadows, you must take heed of weather conditions and avalanche warnings.
The Oswald von Wolkenstein trail is a loop trail that leads past the ruins of Salegg and Hauenstein, and features 15 stations where you can stop and play. There’s a lot to discover along this tour, including a knight’s table, a knight‘s sword and mystical animals.

Passing the impressive Churburg Castle is where the fifth stage of the circular hiking trail 360° Upper Vinschgau Valley starts. Probably the most beautiful view to the Ortler mountain group with the highest glacier in South Tyrol is what the stretch along the Monte Sole mountain in Vinschgau, which is rich in vegetation, has to offer.
This leisurely loop-route around the Puflatsch leads to fairytale spots and breathtaking lookout points with unforgettable views over the Seiser Alm, the Dolomites and the Val Gardena and across to the Ritten/Renon, the Rittner Horn and the Ortles Group.
A number of benches and tables line the route, offering ample opportunity for picnicking.

This scenic route, known as the Sentiero di Sissi in Italian and the Sissiweg in German, leads to the areas of town most beloved by Empress Elisabeth of Austria, better known as Sissi. The charming Habsburg sovereign stayed in Merano several times in the second half of the nineteenth century, and was enchanted by its charm. This path dedicated to her connects the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle with the city centre; it passes through eleven stages along the way, each with a story to tell. From the castle that majestically dominates the botanical gardens, Sissi’s Path winds its way past Pienzenau and Rubein Castles, the Reichenbach Residence, Piazza Fontana (Brunnenplatz), Rottenstein Castle, and the Bavaria Hotel; it then continues down to the river, crosses the Roman Bridge, skirts the Wandelhalle and finally pays homage to the empress in the park dedicated to her. The park is on the edge of the Summer Promenade and there is a statue erected in Sissi’s honour. Obviously, the trail can be followed in either direction.

From Andrian walk through the gorge of river Gaido to the ruins of Festenstein - the trail is very steep and requires attention - continue to the hamlet of Gaido (Moarhof). a short distance along trail no. 8, continue along trail no. 6 to the viewpoint Burgstalleck and descend via the Sattelweg trail to the Bittnerhof farm and back to Andrian.
The hike offers some beautiful viewpoints: take some time to rest and enjoy the view: at the ruins of Castelforte (Festenstein), at Payer's Peak (Burgstalleck) and above Andriano at Schlosspichl.

This beautiful winter hike to the Mahlknechthütte leads right over the Seiser Alm. Endless snow-blanketed Alpine meadows, idyllic Alpine huts and breathtaking views into the distance and depths are guaranteed to enchant hikers on this peaceful tour far from the commotion of the ski resorts.
An archway decorated with a large Christogram marks the start of this pathway, which has been very carefully laid out. Each of the 15 stations is dedicated to an episode in the life of Jesus, and the surrounding landscape plays its own part in the Christian message. Also suitable for children. At every station you will find messages and thoughts on which to meditate during your walk.
