Walking time: about 2.5 hours
Starting point: Town Hall Square. Via Schneckenthaler Straße to St. Anna Nursing Home. Immediately after, turn left following the sign "Hiking Trail Kastelaz" up to the forest road. This leads first slightly uphill and then gently downhill through sparse mixed forest for 3 km to the neighboring village of Kurtatsch. In 2024, 5 new play stations for children were built. Right at the beginning of the hiking trail, children can now whizz down a rapid slide. A few steps ahead, a wooden snake invites balancing. Followed by a swing, a climbing igloo, and at the rest area "Bödala," a cable car. Right at the first houses of Kurtatsch, we reach via the less traveled panoramic road above the Wine Road via Rungg back to Tramin. (Opportunities to stop for food in Kurtatsch and at the Hofschank zur Pergola in Rungg, closed on Wednesdays).
The fresh mountain waters of the Ganderbach mountain torrent (2,000 m) cascade down the Barbian Waterfalls from the Barbianer Alm high moors. The hike to the waterfalls from the town of Barbian/Barbiano is along a narrow and partly secured trail.
The Dolomites, with the mountains of Sas dla Crusc on one side and Pütia on the other one, provide the frame for the expertly and lovingly mown and tended meadows, old barns and farmsteads with the gardens of the 'viles', the traditional rural settlements in the oldest part of La Val. During this simple walk through the old farmsteads of the village, you will feel enveloped by the still living tradition and culture of the village. In addition, on your way you will see the little church of St. Barbara, the symbol of the village, and the bell tower of the old church of La Val.
Along the trail, there are two farmhouses, "Ciablun" and "Lüch de Survisc", where you can stop to savour the authentic and genuine dishes of the Ladin cuisine.
Family hike through meadows and fields in the low mountain range to Ansitz Lusenegg.
This trail leads past the St. Valentin church, nestled in the middle of blossoming meadows above Seis, and boasts incredible views of the Schlern mountain. Hikers can walk all the way across the sunny Schererplatzl to Kastelruth.

Easy winter hiking trail for the whole Family in Wiesen newar Sterzing / Vipiteno with a wonderful panoramic view.
This hike takes us through wonderful meadow landscapes to the Panidersattel. Here there is a wonderful view of the Grödnertal, the Geislerspitzen and the Sella massif. In addition, there is always a magnificent view of Kastelruth.
In the 1900s, a bear trap which still survives to this day was built on the Panider Sattel/Passo Pinei. To lure the bear into the pit, a sheep or goat was tied to a nearby stake; the pit was covered over with branches or twigs such that, on approaching its prey, the bear would fall into the pit and be unable to escape.

Spectacular alpine hike on the Rasciesa, with a 360 ° panoramic view of the Dolomites. Not only is the view on the Rasciesa one of the most beautiful in the Alps.
The Puez-Odle Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also known as "the witness to the geological history of the Dolomites". The natural park is particularly interesting from a geological and geomorphological point of view, with many typical rock formations and strata that are characteristic of the Dolomites.
The hike in the south-eastern part of the Puez-Odle Nature Park presents no great technical difficulties for hikers.
The route from Laion over “Noflatsch” to the Troi Paian and finally to Costamula is a somewhat more demanding day hike for the whole family. The Troi Paian is a historical high-altitude trail that leads from the Eisack Valley through the Dolomites to the Venetian Plain.
An easy and enjoyable stroll between La Villa and Badia, through woods and meadows with views of the Sas dla Crusc/Sasso di Santa Croce mountain, Lavarella and Conturines mountains. This walk is suitable even for strollers.

The Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites on account of its distinctive natural features. The unique, legendary atmosphere of Fanes, the flora and fauna of the Dolomites and the stunning scenery all make this hike an unforgettable experience.
From our area, Fanes is reachable from Sciaré/San Cassiano.
From the village place near the church we have to go to the end of the village, in direction to Saubach/St. Ingenuino. At the last house of the village (Haus Urban), on the right side, begins the "Wasserfallweg". We contnue this trail until we cross a street. We go on this street until the next curve and branch off to the left and there is another trail, which pass on the lower waterfall (duration ca. 1 hour).
Hike on the Isarco Valley hills starting from Albions up to Gudon
The Wasserbühel Rundweg circuit trail in the wonderfully located village of Laion at the entrance to Val Gardena valley is a short walk to archeological findings at the ancient settelments at the Wasserbühel hill. Wasserbühel lies to the north-west of the village and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy its magnificent views.
With its breath-taking panoramic views in high mountain terrain, the walk from S. Pietro to Rasciesa runs through lush vegetation and across colorful meadows in bloom.
A relaxing walk from Badia surrounded by unspoilt nature. You walk through the Armentara meadows, famed for their abundance of flowers. No great effort is needed to walk in this idyllic and calm environment, through small groups of conifers and chalets built long ago.
This average circular hike leads from Barbian/Barbiano to the Rittner Horn summit, with a 360° panoramic view. Referring to the summit of the Rittner Horn, Ludwig Purtscheller, the first European to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, once said: "If you want to see Tyrol at a glance, climb these heights".
A loop trail with plenty to enjoy: farmland, orchards, woods, rest areas and
mysterious Waaler rock paintings paired with breathtaking views over the ruins of
Obermontani and Untermontani castles.
