Starting from a breathtaking landscape at the foot of the Sassolungo Group, this pleasant winter hiking trail begins amid an impressive alpine setting. During the walk, beautiful views of the surrounding Dolomite mountains open up time and again, revealing their special charm in winter. The gently descending path is ideal for enjoyable and calm winter hiking and invites you to slow down and consciously take in the natural surroundings. The destination of the hike is Monte Pana, a sunny plateau that rewards hikers with a unique view of the Sassolungo Group. This winter hike combines impressive natural scenery with peace and relaxation and is ideal for anyone wishing to enjoy the winter mountain landscape at an easy pace.
Itinerary
Start from S. Cristina and hop on the Monte Pana chairlift and then on the Mont de Sëura chairlift to reach the Mont de Sëura high plateau at the bottom of the majestic Sassolungo. Enjoy a spectacular view across the surrounding Dolomite summits from the chairlift mountain station. A wide winter hiking trail leads you to Monte Pana cutting across a snow-covered forest.

Details
This route does not present any particular safety risks.
The trail may be icy, in which case the use of crampons is advisable.
You should always wear good hiking boots, a warm winter jacket, hat or headband and gloves. Furthermore should a drink, a snack and the sunscreen not be missing in your rucksack.
To make the hike a bit more challenging, the ascent can be done on foot, while the descent can be comfortably and easily completed with the chairlift.
Bus to the bus stop S. Cristina Municipio/Rathaus , then ascent with the Monte Pana chairlift.

Directions
The hike starts from Hotel Cendevaves at Monte Pana in S. Crisitina, which you can reach by taking the chairlift Monte Pana from the centre of S. Cristina (free car park at the valley station). You can reach Monte Pana also by private car (chargeable car park).
Parking
Car park at the starting point: Monte Pana P1 & P2 (chargeable).
Alternative: Bus or car to the valley station of the Monte Pana lift and ascent with the lift.
