Varied tour in a quiet area with beautiful view over Braies lake and the surrounding mountains. From the Braies lake turn right until the “Riedlhof” and continuing on the path until you reach “Casera Nuova/Kasern”, then turn left on the slightly rising and small path up to the “Sella di Monte Nero/Schwarzbergsattel”. The way down to the “Val Foresta/Grünwaldtal” is partly very steep and a short section is protected with a wire-cable. From “Val Foresta/Grünwaldtal” back to the starting point – Braies lake. Walking time: 4,5 hours Sign-post: no. 20, no. 61, no 19, no. 1 Challenge: moderately demanding
This hike starts at the hamlet “Gasse” just before Ridnaun/Ridanna. Follow the signpost “Mareiter Stein” southwards along the asphalted road. Go past the group of farmhouses Entholz/Masi di Ento. Crossing meadows you soon reach the edge of the forest. Turn right across a stream ditch. The path leads over a forest trail with the marking no. 4A steeply up to the first mowing meadows. There is a street which leads over wavy alpine pastures to the mountain pasture Joggelealm.
Alternative: also reachable via the path no. 26 towards the mountain pasture Valtiglalm, whereby you have to turn left on path no. 24b after about half way. Also suitable as a mountain bike tour.
The archaeological trail A4 begins in Maso Corto/Kurzras, passes a number of idyllic mountain lakes and drops down into the Vinschgau Valley. Having descended along a gentle forest path, past an old timber mill, you arrive in the small, picturesque village of Corces/Kortsch.
The path of meditation, created in 1996, leads over several stations, which consist of granite blocks with bronze reliefs. The meditation trail to the Chapel " St. Peter am Kofel" is one of the oldest religious sancturary in the area. The chapel was originally built as a refuge for individual priests during the Migration Period. It was first mentioned in a document in 1329.

For centuries now, the inhabitants of St. Martin im Kofel, located above Laces/Latsch, have been making the pilgrimage over the Niederjöchl pass (2,662 m a.s.l) to the pilgrimage site of Madonna di Senales/Unser Frau, in order to pray together with the people of Senales for a good harvest.
The Alpine Pasture Hike starts at the club house (Vereinshaus) in Obertelfes/Telves di Sopra. On easy trails (marked no. 5) you climb gently for about an hour up to the first Alpine pasture, the Freundalm (refreshments available). The hike continues up on trail no. 5, and then no. 6, to the Ochsenalm (no refreshments available). From there, quite a flat trail leads eastwards and in a few minutes you reach the Kuhalm (refreshments available). Descend on trail no. 5B as far as just below the Freundalm where it meets the trail you climbed upon, which you now follow back to Obertelfes.
The pasture trail Ratschings/Racines starts at the road "Jaufenpassstraße" and leads through fantastic landscape past seven mountain pastures. First you reach the mountain pasture Kalcheralm, from there it goes further to the Rinneralm and to the Wasserfalleralm. Along the already existing walking trail it proceeds towards the Saxnerhütte. The next mountain pastures are the Äussere and the Innere Wumblsalm. The trail ends finally at the Klammalm on 1925 meters of altitude, from which you can reach Flading on the marked path no. 12. The pasture trail can be easily manageable in a one-day excursion and is ideal for families. It is also possible to take the cable car Ratschings-Jaufen to the mountain station, from where you can start the pasture trail.
According to oral tradition, after the dissolution of the Carthusian monastery of Allerengelsberg in 1782, the farmed Alpine pastures of Klosteralm (open from the beginning of June to mid / end of October, depending on the weather) at 2,152 m became the property of a number of families in Certosa/Karthaus who set up a syndicate which has thirty members today. The farm was only accessible by a narrow mountain path until a transport cable car was built in 1959. Thanks to the avalanche barrier beneath the Kreuzspitze, a road link was provided as an “ancillary benefit”. Due to its steep and stony pastures, the farm has been used almost exclusively as a typical farm for young cattle.
From the valley head in Ridnaun/Ridanna hike along the path no. 9 through a forest towards the entrance of the Burkhardklamm gorge and continue either along the gorge or on the forest path at your left side to the water barrier of the Aglsboden. From there you can reach the mountain pasture Aglsbodenalm after a walk of 10 minutes on path no. 9.
Alternative: reachable also starting from Maiern/Masseria and following the forest path (1,5h)

This hike starts in Maiern/Masseria, at the valley head of Ridnaun/Ridanna. Cross the Ridnaun river at the bridge and keep go left towards the mountain pasture Aglsbodenalm. At an altitude of 1.560m turn right to the mountain pasture Prischeralm. From there go steeply uphill on a forest path to the mountain pasture.
Alternative: reachable also from the mountain station Rosskopf Monte Cavallo across the Ridnauner Höhenweg
The mountain pasture Klammalm can be reached via Flading/Vallettina. You can either drive to the valley by car or walk across the Ratschinger Almenweg to the end of the valley. Walking time Bichl/Colle-Flading: approx. 1,5 hrs. from Flading you reach the Klammalm, following the marked trail no. 12 to the mountain pasture.

The cable car Ratschings-Jaufen takes you from Bichl/Colle to the mountain station. From there you hike along the Ratschinger Almenweg to the mountain pasture Rinneralm. Alternative: visit the Mountain Adventure World Racines
The hike starts at the Vista Tre Cime and continues through the Valle di Rienza up to what is probably the most famous peak in the Dolomites, up to the Locatelli hut, from which you have an optimal view of the Three Peaks. The hike is considered a challenging alternative to the hiking trails from Misurina and the Fondovalle-hut of Sesto.
Starting from Pardaun/farm Platzhof (parking in Pardaun, no available parking at the farm Platzhof). In front of the farm Platzhof to the left, at first follow a wider path, no. 25, which tightens to a narrow path through the woods and leads into a steeper climb towards the timberline. Then with a wonderful panoramic view along the broad ridge of the mountain to the large summit plateau with its cross. The return follows the same route as the ascent.
Variant: Starting from Gasse/Entholz along the path no. 24 and later on the path no. 25 to the pasture Wurzeralm. Always on path no. 25 it goes up to the Mareiter Stein. The return goes first on the path no. 25 and then on path no. 25B to the pasture Kerschbaumeralm. Contiune on path no. 23 to the Joggelealm and in the descent briefly on path 24B and 24A down to Gasse. Duration 5 hours.
Forest path with a steep but not difficult ascent. At the car park, follow the signpost marked no. 18.Leuchtenburg Castle, originally the seat of the Lords of Rottenburg, was first mentioned in a document in 1286. It was probably built around the year 1200 on the foundations of a prehistoric rampart castle. Sparse frescoes still exist. Beautiful views of Lake Kaltern, the South Tyrolean Wine Road and the Adige Valley.
The hike to the Forcella dei Baranci/Birkenschartl offers a beautiful view on the Three Peaks and the surrounding mountains.
Go along the western shore of the lake to the south-eastern end of the lake, then upwards to Buco del Giavo/Nabiges Loch cross the valley to the other side and to the right to Porta sora al Forn, then slightly downwards to the alpine hut “Rifugio Biella/Seekofelhütte”. Walking time: 3,5 hours Sign-post: No. 1 Challenge: very demanding
Hut situated in the heart of the Dolomites, sorrounded by meadows and an impressive mountain backdrop. Go on the west bank of the lake to the south-east end of the lake, then up into “Buco Giavo/Nabiges Loch”, continue to the “Porta Sora al Forn”, and turn right to the “Törl” and the Rifugio Biella/Seekofelhütte. Continue on the wide hiking-way along slightly uphill through pastures and down to the alpine hut “Rifugio Senes/Senneshütte”. Walking time: 4,5 hours Mark: no. 1; no. 6A Difficulty: very demanding
The archaeological trail from Vent to Maso Corto/Kurzras leads through captivating mountain landscape that was already used many centuries ago by shepherds with their flocks.
The untouched Lagauntal Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in South Tyrol. The trail up to the former Heilbronn hut and the Tascheljöchl provide a breathtaking long-distance view of numerous 3000m-peaks. On the way to Berglalm Mountain Hut, we pass through idyllic high mountain terrain with expansive larch forests.
Specatcular peak with breathtaking 360°-view! Along the western shore of the lake to the south-eastern end of the lake, then upwards to Buco del Giavo/Nabiges Loch cross the valley to the other side and to the right to Porta sora al Forn. From there, the trail branches off to the right over rocky terrain to the summit. Exposed sections are secured with wire rope. Sign-post: No 1, from “Rifugio Biella” without number - marked in red Challenge: very demanding, vertigo and slip resistance required!

The alpine hut "Langalm/Grava Longa" (known as "Long-Olbe" in the South Tyrolian dialect) is located at an altitude of 2283 m at the foot of the impressive north faces of the Three Peaks and only accessible by hiking.
The cable car Ratschings-Jaufen takes you from Bichl to the mountain station. From there you can hike along the Ratschinger Almenweg to the mountain pasture Wasserfalleralm.
