The Dolorama Track: Hiking in the realm of the Dolomites A 4-day hiking tour in a breath-taking Alpine landscape with spectacular panoramic views, from Rodenecker mountain pastures to Laion/Lajen   The beautiful peaks of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Dolomites are always in view! The Dolorama Route runs in four stages, from the Rodenecker mountain pastures to the village of Laion/Lajen – an unforgettable hiking experience through the valleys and mountains of the Dolomites.
 
The 61-km long Dolorama tour starts gently and then passes through the unique varied landscape of the Dolomites. Leaving the rich pastures of the Rodenecker and Lüsner Alm pastures, the route reaches the rugged rock formations of the Aferer and Villnösser Geisler, leading through pastures and meadows down to the village of Lajen/Laion. A spectacular panoramic view is to see along the entire tour on the horizon: the unique high rock formations of the Dolomites. First, the impressive Peitlerkofel in Funes/Villnöss, close to the Gömajoch ridge in the Puez-Geisler Nature Park comes into view, and then the Raschötz mountain pasture, withe the view extends to the peaks of Langkofel, Plattkofel and Schlern.
 
The Dolorama trail consists almost entirely of forestry paths and hiking trails , and is only crossed once by a road. Along the way there are many rest areas and panorama points to stop at: for example, the prehistoric settlement site at Astmoos on the Luson/Lüsner Alm pasture or the alpine pastures of Raschötz. For those who want to undertake the 4-day tour in stages, there are many access paths and descents along the entire route. These, as well as the starting point and target destination, are all easily accessible by public bus.

There are many Alpine huts along the way, offering refreshments and accommodation. All in all: a pure experience of the Dolomites !

» Stage 3: from the Schlüterhütte alpine hut to the Raschötz shelter hut (ca. 5 h)
» Stage 4: from the Raschötz shelter hut to the village of Laion/Lajen (ca. 3 h)

Idyllic streams, towering mountains and lush green meadows. All this can be found in the nature of South Tyrol. And the Tschamin Valley is all of this in one. The Tschamin stream ripples merrily along, the Rosengarten massif forms a monumental sight and the meadow oasis invites you to linger and play amidst the dense spruce forest. Troi Paian is a historical high-altitude trail that leads from the Valle Isarco through the Dolomites to the Venetian Plain. One stage is from Lajen/Laion to Ortisei. The Troi Paian is Val Gardena's oldest path that existed already in the Bronze Age and served as a connecting path to the Valle Isarco.

This beautiful winter’s walk leads up through snowy woods from the Völser Weiher Lake to the Tuff and Hofer Alpl mountain hut. Given that the walk begins at the Völser Weiher Lake, you can also make the most of the opportunity to strap on your skates and take a spin around the lake.

From the village place near the church we have to go to the end of the village, in direction to Saubach/St. Ingenuino. At the last house of the village (Haus Urban), on the right side, beginns the "Wasserfallweg". We contnue this trail until we cross a street. We go on this street until the next curve and branch off to the left and there is another trail, which pass on the lower waterfall (Duration ca. 1 hour). From the lower one we hike to the upper waterfall. For this trail good foodwear is necessery. At he way back we take the hike way nr. 6 and 6 A to the saw mill and hear we can go back from the "Wasserfallweg" to Barbian/Barbiano.

From the Lake Gioveretto up to the Grün- and Gelbsee Lake until the Gioveretto Peak with its wondreful view.

This circular hike on the Pinàzweg Trail crosses over the sunny slopes of Brixen/Bressanone to Elvas. Although the trail remains open all year round, it is especially popular in springtime, when the fruit trees are in bloom, as well as in autumn.

The path leads past farms and through private properties.  The people who live here are happy to show you an insight into their way of life and work.

This route with its moderate rise is suitable for baby buggy. You will need just 45 minutes passing through the broad forest road. 

The Malga Giogo di San Genesio (Jenesier Jöchl-Alm) is a typical South Tyrolean Alpine hut  with grazing animals and snack bar, situated on one of the most beautiful high plateau between Salto/San Genesio, Merano2000 and Val Sarentino, tested and awarded from the influential restaurant guide Gault Millaut 2016. 

From the terrace of the hut you will have a beautiful view to the Dolomites and the Mendel Crest.

This sunny winter hike leads from Kastelruth past the hamlets of Tisens and Tagusens.

On the hike you get to Prösels Castle, built around 1200 by the Counts von Völs. In the early 16th century it was extended and converted by the Governor of Tyrol, Leonhard von Völs, to a Renaissance castle. Mölten is embedded in mountain meadows and oriented towards the sun and the mountain Tschögglberg. It is centrally located and only a short drive away from Meran and Bozen.

At the eight stations along the trail, kids and adults alike will learn about the animals that are important for the survival of our woodland. So we start the trip to visiting Ivo, Bella, Walter & Co.
With Pyramix we follow the tracks of the wild animals on the sunny high plateau Renon. The nature experience trail with the marking no. 16 leads us from Soprabolzano through woods and meadows over the village from Soprabolzano past to the farm Lobis and its mill.
At the beginning of the trail Pyramix welcomes us and tells us a lot about the wildlife on Renon. Curiosity is already aroused and off we go!
We already see the first coloured spots between the trees. What could this be? ...It is Fiona, the clever Mrs. Fox. Here in the forest she has found a great place for her earth.
The path leads us further to Ivo, a companion with a spiky hairstyle, which you can find especially at night while looking for food. Well, which animal do you think is meant?
Again and again we pass various forest and meadow inhabitants. Whether it's Walter, the busy woodpecker, who hammers a cave for his chicks into the tree, or Sissi, the busy squirrel, who collects his stocks.
At each of these stations, children will find great opportunities to play and learn about the characteristics of the animals in a playful way, and of course there is also a description of the wild animal with its special features.
Entertainment and fun for young and old are therefore guaranteed.The nature trail is simply FUNtastic!

The Völs am Schlern loop trail is a sunny, pleasant stroll with magnificent views over the Ritten plateau and Prösels Castle.  

If you want to make your day even more romantic, decide for a winter hike for young and old. Where there were wide meadows in spring, summer and autumn, wide white snowfields spread out now. Enjoy a white and quiet Meltina!

The first destination, the Bacherhof, is situated in a quiet location and is ideal for families with children.

The church of St. Ulrich was built in Romanesque style and was rebuilt in 1859. Here, hikers enjoy a great view of the surrounding white mountains.

This leisurely winter walking tour leading from Seis to Kastelruth boasts beautiful views over the villages at the foot of the Schlern, the picturesque St. Valentin chapel and the imposing Schlern massif with the Santner peak.

The wildly romantic Tschamin Valley between the Schlern and the Rosengarten is the perfect destination for a winter hike for all those who love unspoilt nature. The destination of this winter walk is the Rechter Leger, a wonderfully situated box-seat spot with views over the Grasleitentürme towers and the Tschaminspitzen peaks.

The beautiful meadow hike with constantly beautiful views is especially recommended in spring and autumn. The Poststeig trail in the return route is a historical connecting path between Laion and Ortisei.

The hiking tour on the Alps of Barbian starts at the Huber Kreuz (1621 m). From here we go to „Merlboden“ on trail nr 4. Then it continues to go round the Oberes Horn to the Unteres Horn (2044 m). There is a stop off. After the refreshment begins the descent. It goes down to „Pennleger“ (1847 m) and on trail nr 3B to the Huber Kreuz.

This tour boasts three highlights in one: The 17th century Plague Chapel, a small lake at the Wuhnleger meadows where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the Rosengarten massif and the “Weihboden,” thought to have been a cult site in pagan times.
