Discover the current collection of South Tyrol’s first female master distiller, experience the authentic distilling process and taste select wines and spirits in the 14th century tower cellar.
Ripened in the sun, distilled in a copper vat: at the Gaudenz Farm Distillery only first-class, hand-picked fruit finds its way inside. Williams pears, apples, grapes, Vinschgau apricots and quinces are transformed into the finest, single-origin fruit brandies by hand using the keen instinct of the master distiller, which, with their authentic flavour are a true delight for the taste buds.
Christine Schönweger, farmer and South Tyrol’s only female master distiller, describes the path she has taken from a love of fruit, via the art of distilling, to genuine and authentic indulgence, with a guided tour of the Gaudenz farm distillery in the Gaudententurm Residence plus tasting of the farm's own spirits.
Discover the delicious variety of dumplings: bacon dumplings, cheese dumplings, vegetable dumplings and as a sweet finale, a delightful dessert dumpling – lovingly and with a lot of experience prepared by and with Elisabeth.
In this cooking course, Elisabeth will guide you step by step through the traditional preparation of South Tyrolean dumplings. Afterwards, you will enjoy the freshly prepared delicacies together over a convivial lunch. To ensure your dumplings turn out perfectly at home, you’ll also receive the recipes and expert tips from Elisabeth to take with you.

Gala, Kanzi, Fuji, Red Delicious – these illustrious names represent four of the total of 18 varieties of apple that flourish in the sunny orchards tended by South Tyrol's farmers. Crisp, juicy and fresh, famed as a vitamin bomb and popular well beyond the borders of the region, there is plenty to learn about the South Tyrolean apple. Did you know, for example, that the apple originally came from Kazakhstan? Or that one in three of all organic apples harvested in Europe comes from South Tyrol?
Together with apple grower Christine we set out on a journey of discovery through the local apple orchards. Our charming and knowledgeable guide shares plenty of interesting and curious facts about the apple growing industry in South Tyrol, about organic and integrated cultivation, the different varieties, the ingenious methods of naturally-derived plant protection and the protected designation of geographical origin.
During the subsequent tasting of the different apple varieties participants can enjoy talking shop about the apples’ flavours and textures and their personal favourites. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions of our expert.

How is honey made, how is a bee colony organised and why are these busy insects that never seem to get tired so important for us? This guided tour into the world of bees and beekeepers provides the answers to questions like these and more.
Expert Christian Kessler from the Partschins Beekeeping Association give an overview of the lives of these hard-working little pollinators, show how they work in the open beehive and the amazing social behaviour of bees, and explain how honey gets from the flower to a jar with the “Made in South Tyrol” brand label on it. Equipped with the right protective clothing, participants can marvel at and literally get to grips with the inner life of the bee hive at close quarters. The guided tour also explains the role that the beekeeper plays, what exactly he does and how his activities must be strictly aligned to the course of the bees’ year.
Afterwards, participants can discover the outstanding quality of South Tyrolean honey for themselves by tasting various types of honey.
Kurtatsch an der Weinstraße/Cortaccia sulla Strada del Vino, Alto Adige Wine Road
Guided hike through the sunny slopes of Kurtatsch – past olive groves and picturesque vineyards. Along the way, you’ll taste fine wines from our renowned wineries and gain fascinating insights into the world of Kurtatsch olive oil. The highlight of the tour is a traditional South Tyrolean 'Marende' with an olive oil tasting – set in the atmospheric ambience of a private wine cellar. An unforgettable gourmet experience!
When the evening sun bathes the Adige Valley in golden light and the Dolomites glow on the horizon, Gasthof Jocher and the Vigilius Mountain Resort on the Vigiljoch invite you to a very special experience: the Aperitivo Lungo on the Vigiljoch. Every fortnight on Fridays in June, July and August 2025, guests can enjoy a sparkling aperitif with live music, regional snacks and an unforgettable panorama.
The evenings alternate between Ristorante Jocher and the Vigilius Mountain Resort, each accompanied by a variety of live music: pop, acoustic sounds and other musical styles create an atmospheric ambience. At both locations, guests can expect a relaxed atmosphere, panoramic terraces with spectacular views and an ambience that is perfect for anyone who loves mountain air, music and authentic flavours.

Now things are getting tasty! Together we go into the dewy garden where we pick the freshest of fresh ingredients and then call in at the farm to collect eggs before getting down to work. We cook local, simple and unique dishes in the cookery school of our indulgence ambassador, Tina Marcelli. Along with Tina and her team there’ll be sizzling and spills... before we taste what we have created! Bon appetit!

An experience that combines nature and traditional cuisine. After a guided hike through beautiful mountain trails, we reach a cozy alpine hut surrounded by nature. Here, Davide teaches how to prepare a traditional Ladin dish, sharing useful tips and tricks for the best results. After the cooking class, we sit down together to enjoy the freshly made meal, with stunning mountain views all around. An experience that delights both the heart and the taste buds!

Together with beekeeper Michael you will open a beehive at one of his traveling stands, watch the watch the busy little bees at work and learn
learn all kinds of interesting facts about them. The crowning glory is a tasting of various honey of various honey products.

Ratschings/Racines, Sterzing/Vipiteno and environs
From the Provincial Mining Museum in Maiern/Ridnaun, trail no. 9 takes us on a relaxed, leisurely hike to the entrance of the wild Burkhardklamm gorge. At the waterfall, we breathe in the finely atomized aerosol of the Fernerbach stream, and the invigorating effect of these healing drops is immediately noticeable. You will experience the health-promoting effect that our scientific study at the Paracelsus Salzburg Private University has shown. We find peace and relaxation by becoming aware of nature with all our senses. The alpine hut Aglsbodenalm invites you to a cozy stop. With Kneipp treatments, we also let the calming power of the water work its magic on us on the way back.
Participation in the hike is possible from the age of 6.
Coming from Sterzing, follow the signs towards Ridnaun Valley up to Maiern.
The meeting point is conveniently accessible by bus line 312 towards Ridnaun/Maiern. It is the last stop. Arrival at 9:38 AM, the tour starts just 5 minutes later! The return trip to Sterzing is possible at 3:05 PM from the same stop.
Tip: The guided hike ends around 3:00 PM – the perfect time to join a tour at the Mining Museum, which starts at 3:15 PM. A great way to enjoy both experiences in one day.

The winegrowing tradition at Neustift goes back centuries. To find out what has remained of this tradition, what winegrowing in the abbey’s vineyards involves today and the philosophy on which it is based, come on a vineyard tour. We’ll not only tell you all about Neustift winegrowing but also serve you its products. The tour of the vineyards together with the following wine tasting takes about 90 minutes in all. And lasts for longer.
