Under the motto “Dishes with a Story”, a food stall serves traditional meals from days gone by – authentically prepared and with a deep love for South Tyrolean cuisine. High-quality exhibitors present regional products all centered around fine food – from handmade specialties to delightful gift ideas for gourmets. Ancient crafts come to life on site: watch, discover, and marvel at how things used to be made. A lovingly designed children’s program awaits our youngest guests, making Advent at Schenna Castle a special experience for the whole family. Christmas as it used to be: the Mountain Advent in Trodena brings back the true spirit of Christmas: alpine traditions, ancient customs, and moments of reflection. Far from the hustle and bustle, the winding alleys and old cellars of the village center turn into a magical Advent setting: the market with a petting zoo, handmade crafts, traditional skills, and Grandpa’s Christmas workshop. Highlights also include the Krampus parade and concerts in the village church. In December 2025, the beloved Advent market will once again enchant visitors in the picturesque alleys and rustic cellars of Trodena.

Producers from the area offer their local and handmade products for tasting and for sale. Seasonal fruits and vegetables, bread, meat and sausage products, honey and jams, Liquors and juices, wood carvings and much more are offered.

Our Christmas market, the Alpine Advent Sarntal Valley, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. This year in Val Sarentino, the visitors of our Christmas street market will be enchanted by a myriad of Christmas trees. 20 wooden stands will display the traditional, handcrafted and unique products made in Val Sarentino, while the food and wine stands will offer local goodies such as sweet and airy Krapfen, Striezl (Sarentino-style fried bread) and rye bread. The Christmassy feeling will be heightened by music bands and carol singers and in addition there will be a hands-on workshop and animation shows for the children.

During Alm Advent, the Fane Alm transform into a cozy place filled with festive anticipation on all Advent Sundays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visitors can look forward to mulled wine, South Tyrolean specialties, a lovingly designed children’s program with crafting and storytelling, as well as stalls offering homemade products.

Each Advent Sunday features its own special highlight:

On the 1st Sunday of Advent (30/11/2025), an alpine devotion takes place at 2 pm, accompanied by a four-part choir and then the brass ensemble of the Valles music band.

On the 2nd Sunday of Advent (07/12/2025), St. Nicholas visits the hut at 2 pm, with musical accompaniment by the Terento men’s choir.

On the 3rd Sunday of Advent (14/12/2025), the brass ensemble of the Rodeneck music band provides contemplative music.

During Advent, the Christmas Market takes place at Piazza San Giacomo square on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on 8 December, featuring stalls with local handicrafts and culinary delicacies.

The Margreid Lantern Advent invites you to enjoy the pre-Christmas season in an atmospheric setting. Mulled wine stands, an idyllic Christmas forest and lovingly designed lanterns decorating the streets and houses give Margreid a special Christmas glow.
A highlight is the Krampus run on 5 December, accompanied by St. Nicholas, who gives gifts to the children. Musical performances, Advent stories and culinary delights create a festive atmosphere for young and old alike.
On 23 December, the traditional charity mulled wine stand invites you to enjoy music and community spirit – and the most beautiful lantern decoration of the year is also awarded a prize.

The church square sparkles in christmas lights, soft Christmas music and the smell of mulled wine and fresh pastries wafts through the air - on Friday, November 29th, it's finally time: the Algund Christmas Market opens its doors.

18 stalls and two food stands are eagerly waiting to sweeten your Advent season with regional crafts, hot drinks, and traditional dishes. The diverse offerings will be rounded off with musical performances, a show kitchen on Saturday evening, the large gingerbread house from the Tauber bakery, a children's program, and of course, the ever-popular ice skating rink.

The christmas forest once again opens its doors and invites visitors into an atmospheric winter world. As you stroll through the small wooden huts, glowing with warm lights and festively decorated, you’ll be enveloped by an inviting atmosphere. The scent of hot mulled wine and delicious treats invites you to pause and enjoy the magic of the holiday season. Each hut offers unique handmade treasures that showcase the craftsmanship of local artisans.

A highlight of the market is the impressive life-sized nativity scene, lovingly carved by the sculptor Leo Moroder. Every year, new figures are added, making this artwork a vibrant symbol of the most beautiful Christmas traditions.

And when live music fills the air between the snow-covered huts, the market becomes even more enchanting. On certain evenings, concerts create a truly special festive atmosphere.

Last year, for every cup of mulled wine sold, €1.00 was donated to Aiüt Alpin Dolomites, raising a total of €3,000 in support of the valuable work of the mountain rescue team.
This year, the initiative continues, with a part of the proceeds being donated to another local association, sharing the magic of Christmas through solidarity.

Since its opening, the ice rink in the centre of Schenna has enjoyed great popularity. Anyone who wants to take to the ice is in exactly the right place in Schenna. The 12x30 metre artificial ice rink offers locals and guests the chance to do their laps on the shiny surface right in the village centre. Skates and helmets can be rented. A food stall offers warming drinks and snacks. Opening hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM The food stall remains open until 8:00 PM Closed on Tuesdays - except from 24.12. to 06.01.

Christmas magic at the Fritzenhof
On 8 December, the Praxmarer wine estate will open its doors, transforming the courtyard of the Fritzenhof into an enchanting setting.

On Monday, 8 December, Welsberg will turn into a charming Advent meeting point from 05:00 p.m. onwards. A small Christmas market featuring selected local handicrafts offers special gift ideas, while warm drinks and hearty dishes create a cozy atmosphere. The “Glumpatwichtel” adds a cheerful touch. Participants may bring a “glumpat gift” – an item no longer needed – nicely wrapped to keep the surprise. On site, the gift is handed in, a ticket is drawn, and the glumpat gifts are then raffled among the attendees. A joyful addition to the Advent season and a moment filled with small surprises.

The Small Christmas Market at the Cultural Centre offers a cosy and festive afternoon filled with local flavours, crafts, and holiday cheer.
Local producers will showcase their handmade goods, regional delicacies, and creative gift ideas – perfect for finding something special.

Starting at 2:00 p.m., the KlangArt Choir will provide the musical backdrop, filling the space with joyful Christmas melodies.

The golden autumn has given up its colorful place and left the stage to winter for the most contemplative time of the year. With a promising tone, lights and angels, Christmas trees and a small Christmas market announce the holiday season in Kaltern, which makes the most of its smaller size with nothing lacking. A contemplative village stroll if desired, enjoying wine and fine treats in festive garb, embedded in culinary traditions with both old customs and new practices that will join them.
