The food on our mountain hut of Mahlknechthütte is very tasty and all meals are prepared with love.

The Resciesa Alpine Hut has been newly build and this historical place for Val Gardena was reopened in winter 2010/2011. The hut lies 1,4 km (0.8 miles) west of the uphill station of the new funicular that takes you from downtown Ortisei to the mountains of Resciesa. You reach our hut after a 30 minutes walk on a flat, comfortable path. During the winter you can descend on sleds from the hut all the way to Ortisei. We offer typical dishes with an eye to local tradition. You can also stay for one or more nights: we have comfortable double rooms with private bathroom or shared rooms.

Chef Adriano proposes a menu of intriguing appetisers, a variety of main courses of both Roman and Italian tradition and seconds that include fish and vegetarian plates with delicious side-dishes. The wine list consists of a selection of small national producers. And to end your meal, nothing better than one of the desserts that Edvige, our award winning pastry- chef, creates in this cozy location with a youthful touch.

The Latzfons Cross (2.300m) is the highest pilgrimage site in South Tyrol and one of the highest in Europe.

The ski lodge Pfeifer Huisele, located directly at the top station of the Ladurns ski area, offers hot meals with South Tyrolean specialties such as dumpling dishes, Kaiserschmarrn and much more. The hut is a meeting point for young and old, to enjoy in-house grappa or hot special drinks in an exuberant mood.

The Schgaguler hut offers typical dishes, as well as cheese, Speck (bacon) and local wines. Accessibility From Compaccio/Compatsch, follow trail no. 30 as far as Ritsch and then trail no. 9 to the Schgaguler hut. It takes ten minutes on foot from the mountain station of the Ortisei/St. Ulrich lift.
