    The world of sparkling wines 2024 Monday
    Kaltern an der Weinstraße/Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino, The South Tyrolean Wine Road
    Sparkling wine tasting and guided visit at the Kettmeir winery. The journey starts with a tour of the historic winery and ends with a final wine tasting. Participants will learn the difference between the definitions Brut, metodo classico and doux. They will also discover what the pupitre is used for and what remouage is. Finally, for a sparkling start into the week, a tasting of fine sparkling wines will take place. Guided tours on request. Registration: within saturday, 12 pm, at the Kaltern Tourism Office

It's a simple (not easy) but very entertaining event. You sit down at a table in teams of 4, just like you would in a bar. You can enjoy a beer or a wine and chat with friends. The pub quiz master moderates through 3 rounds of questions in faaaaast perfect English on topics he has chosen beforehand. As a team, you try to answer the questions as best you can - WITHOUT your mobile phone. Points are awarded for each correct answer and after three rounds the winning teams receive a prize.     Every year in Spring, Brixen is the venue for the Water Light Festival. From 24 April to 12 May, the sixth edition of the Water Light Festival will take place at nightfall in the town of Brixen and during the day in the Neustift monastery (until 29th of June 2024). Once again, this year, artists from all over the world will bring their creative ideas to South Tyrol. The Water Light Festival combines light art, contemporary art and environmental awareness. The aim is to create awareness and sensitivity and to encourage reflection. The installations combine creativity, visual illusions, lyrical elements and stimulate reflection. The focus is on the elements of water and light. A ticket is required for three extraordinary light art installations in the city.     Asparagus season in Terlan
    Terlan/Terlano, The South Tyrolean Wine Road
    n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

    Walther von der Vogelweide, the most important of the German-speaking minnesingers, has left a deep mark not only on literature, but also on Lajen. Thus would Walther von der Vogelweide have probably received us, bidding us “willekomen” to his home of Lajen, which he left in the late 12th century in order to conquer the entire German-speaking world with his songs and poems. Walther was the star minnesinger, the one who knew how to entertain the ladies and gentlemen at court – up to and including numerous crowned heads. As a consummate professional, he knew exactly what his audience wanted to hear, whether it was poems about noble ladies and (not so noble) girls, or works with a more solid content: crown, church, crusades.

    Feichter performs in the StadtGalerie Brixen, where visitors are initially greeted by a carpet of fog. A walk through the gallery reveals high towers here and there, protruding through the blanket of fog. Gradually, sculptures moulded from various materials appear. They are reminiscent of organic structures or architecture and landscapes from a bird's eye view. But just when visitors think they can make out something familiar in the swathes of fog, the next cloud of grey-white water droplets appears and makes everything disappear into obscurity again - like a memory that fades away. The installation and performance artist Fabian Feichter, who is also active as a musician, is showing his exhibition at the StadtGalerie as part of the Water Light Festival. In his works, he repeatedly explores the theme of water and its different aggregate states: a glacier in the form of a kebab skewer, artificial ice in a hotel room, a snow substitute from a popcorn machine or as three-dimensional moulds of various lakes. The exhibition also includes a video work by the artist Youlee Ku with sound by Fabian Feichter.
