The closed-off street of Corvara turns into a true open-air market. Visitors can meet beekeepers, cheesemakers, farmers, and herbalists in person, who present and sell their products: organic honey, artisanal cheeses, alpine herbs, local flours, and preserves. The food stands, run by local restaurateurs and associations, offer dishes prepared with the same ingredients, providing a genuine farm-to-table experience. From August 1 to 3, the 9° Village Festival turns Falzes into a vibrant stage for food, music and community spirit. Local associations provide delicious regional dishes, varied entertainment and a festive atmosphere for the whole family—highlighted by the big parade on Sunday. More than 60 vintage tractors, including 40 "Porsche-Diesel" tractors and 5 Porsche-Diesel Master tractors from various years of construction, can be viewed in the tractor museum. The oldest piece in the collection is a "Balilla" tractor dating from 1929. An experience for young and old! Please note: the guided tour is only available in German and Italian!

The long shopping evenings in Silandro have become indispensable. This year too, merchants and inns in cooperation with the Tourism Association and Silandro Marketing invite you to enjoy the warm summer evenings in Silandro. The visitors can browse leisurely in the shops of the village until 10 p.m., stroll through the pedestrian zone and discover new culinary highlights or cocktails on the terraces of our guest establishments with friends and family. But there's also plenty else on offer in our pedestrian zone on these evenings - a great supporting programme and great music await you.

An open day to discover the commitment, tools and equipment used by first aid volunteers in South Tyrol. The White Cross, Fire Brigade and Alpine Rescue are the first to appear in case of need. The Wurzer Alm cordially invites everyone to the Wurzer Kirchtag on the Wurzer Alm in Hafling. There will be great food and drinks, including a barbecue. There will also be music and fun games for the children.

On the first weekend of August, the traditional Val Gardena costume parade takes place. The five local brass bands, the traditional costume association, and various folk dance groups participate in the event. After the parade through the center of Selva, a grand concert by the brass band takes place in the town square. Food and drinks are provided by the local community association of Selva di Val Gardena. The traditional costume parade starts at 3:00 PM above the town square and follows Nives Street to the intersection at Hotel Krone. From there, it continues along the main road, passing Nives Square, and returns to the town square.

Strudel Festival in the woods "Flatschwaldile" on Sunday, 3rd August from 11.00 am. to 5.00 pm.! A lot of various tipical specialities (Strudel), würstel and pommes frites, drinks and coffee. Games and entertainment for the kids.

Every year on the first Sunday in August the ancient miller's profession can be observed and discovered in the Ternertal Valley within the framework of the Mill Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.! Enjoy the splashing of the wooden water wheels while observing the grinding process in the old mills! You can savour local culinary delights such as home-baked bread, dumplings and fried specialities.

The Volunteer Fire Brigade of Pflersch warmly invites you to the traditional summer festival! Look forward to a relaxing day with delicious food and refreshing drinks – we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of! Starting at 11:30 am, the festival kicks off with the parade and concert by the Pflersch music band. Afterwards, “Die zwoa Lustigen” will entertain you with lively music, creating a great atmosphere and lots of fun. Come and celebrate with us – we’re looking forward to seeing you!

In 2006, the popular ‘Kinderlachen’ programme was brought back to life. Since then, the popular children's afternoons have been held every Wednesday in August in the open-air arena. Join us on the Hinzlweg - an experience for body, mind and heart. Discover the fascinating landscape of Naturns - Tabland - whether for the first time or as a loyal regular! The Hinzlweg trail invites you on a special circular hike: a journey of discovery through nature and history. Werner, our experienced guide, will lead you through flowering meadows, sparse birch and pine forests and past marvellous vantage points with impressive panoramic views over Naturns, the Venosta Valley and as far as Meran. The approximately three-hour hike follows pleasant paths through the cool forest and climbs a moderate 220 metres in altitude. Along the way, you will learn exciting stories and historical background information about Tabland - once a tranquil farming village, today a lively holiday destination with charm and character. Join our local village enthusiast Johanna for an especially lantern walk along the beautiful Marlinger Waalweg Trail and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere as darkness envelops the landscape and the lanterns light the way. On this special hike you will learn historical, current and legendary facts about Marling. The route takes you on a relaxed stroll through the village and along the historic Waalweg Trail. After the evening round, you’ll be welcomed at the Marling church square with sweet pastries, a glass of Marling wine, or a refreshing South Tyrolean apple juice, the perfect way to conclude a unforgettable evening. Registration required: Until Monday 12 noon online or at the Tourist Association Marling. The event takes place in German.

For decades, a Holy Mass has been held on the 5th of August in Merano 2000 in honour of St Oswald, the patron saint of cattle and herds. The procession will also take place again. Afterwards, live musicians are playing at the mountain hut Kuhleitenhütte and at the hut Kirchsteiger Alm.

Fancy a varied hike where you can discover the secrets of nature - and history? On this guided tour through the Texelgruppe Nature Park, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the flora and fauna, as well as traces of times gone by. The hike starts at the "Kratzegg" car park in Ulfas and first leads across the mountain meadows of Wintritt, where numerous alpine herbs grow - a paradise for nature lovers. The trail continues to the Obere Ulfaseralm hut, an archaeologically interesting area where finds from the Bronze Age have been made. You then reach the Schartalm hut - an ideal place for a break with a marvellous view of the valley. The way back leads via the Ulfaseralm hut back to the starting point. You will be accompanied by a trained nature park guide, who will provide fascinating insights along the way: which plants grow here? How does the landscape change throughout the year? Which animals are native, and how do humans and nature share this space? The tour is part of a series of nine guided hikes through the Texelgruppe Nature Park - each with a different destination, each path offering new perspectives. Walking time: approx. 4 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 550 m The event will be in German and Italian.

A theatre adventure for the whole family (ages 4 and up). The constant search for happiness is probably one of the best ways to be unhappy. But what exactly is happiness? In the Happiness Research Center, Franzi and Didi delve into this question. They test fortune cookies, examine the effects of compliments and gifts, and philosophize about the difference between rich and poor... Will they solve the puzzle and be happy forever? A humorous and thought-provoking two-person play by Marc Becker, directed by Gabriela Renner, with Astrid Gärber and Veronika Pircher. A production by the freiluft Children's and Youth Theatre Association. The event is only in German.

On this evening, the "Schnalser Goaßlschneller" and three young accordion players will give you a little insight into an old South Tyrolean tradition, the "Goaslschnelln" (=Whip Cracking). In the past, the "Goaßl" was used to herd the cows or to loudly wake up spring at the end of winter. Nowadays, the performances mainly serve to maintain the tradition.

Also this year we invite guests, vacationers and residents of the Ritten to participate in this environmental action on the Ritten. No registration is required: just show up at the meeting point. Tuesday, August 5th collection campaign at the Rittner Horn from 9.40 to 12 a.m. Starting point: ticket office / valley station of the Rittner Horn cable car. Associations, institutions, but also individual citizens can give with their participation a strong environmental signal against the wild disposal of waste in our forests. In past editions of this one, several kilograms of garbage were collected, mainly plastic packages, cans, bottles and paper tissues. Armed with gloves, garbage bags and tongs, we set about cleaning up three popular walks in Klobenstein & Oberbozen. The best litter is that which is not created at all, and the Clean Trails campaign thus sends an important message about avoiding litter. An October 2020 study by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) estimates that about 229,000 tons of plastic waste ends up in the Mediterranean each year. Italy produces 34,000 tons per year. All interested people can take part in the action and we expect a lively participation.

Comedians, stand-up comedians, clowns, musicians and magicians will immerse Naturno's outdoor arena in an intoxicating setting for all kinds of mischief and laughter, hilarity and subtlety. The South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano, recently designated a UNESCO Creative City of Music, is once again preparing to host one of Europe’s most prestigious cultural events in the summer of 2025: the Bolzano Festival Bozen. Each year, the festival brings together exceptional creative talents, as students from top international music academies collaborate with world-class soloists and conductors to present concerts of the highest artistic quality. Throughout the city, the air is filled with the energy of discovery and shared passion for classical music. Bolzano Festival Bozen is more than a series of concerts – it is a unique cultural platform that unites four key components of the city’s musical identity: the Antiqua Festival of Early Music, the Gustav Mahler Academy, the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, and the two prestigious youth orchestras-in-residence, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Founded by Claudio Abbado, these ensembles symbolize a shared European vision and have found their summer home in Bolzano. The festival offers a rich and diverse program, where young talent and legendary musicians come together to rehearse, perform, and inspire. Among the highlights of the 2025 edition are the final rounds of the renowned Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition, a performance by Sir John Eliot Gardiner with the Mahler Academy Orchestra as they explore the authentic soundscapes of early 20th-century music, and the celebrated cellist Pablo Ferrández – often referred to as “the new Yo-Yo Ma” – performing with the European Union Youth Orchestra under the baton of Vasily Petrenko. Also appearing are violinist Sayaka Shoji with the Bolzano String Academy, and acclaimed performers Alina Ibragimova and Renaud Capuçon, who will join the EUYO and GMJO under Iván Fischer and Manfred Honeck, respectively. For a festival whose founding motto is “music and youth,” it’s only natural that children and young audiences are not just welcomed, but encouraged to attend. In 2025, the festival’s family-friendly offerings are being expanded even further. Children are often far more open to classical music than one might expect. In fact, during the so-called “open-eared” phase – typically the first ten years of life – they show remarkable receptiveness and curiosity, even toward complex or contemporary works. This makes it an ideal time to introduce them to the world of classical music in an engaging, meaningful way. On August 14 at 7:30 PM at the Bolzano Municipal Theatre, the European Union Youth Orchestra will perform with violinist Alina Ibragimova under the direction of Iván Fischer. Prior to the concert, there will be a special introduction to the evening's program, focusing on Stravinsky’s The Firebird. Audiences will explore the Russian folktale that inspired the famous ballet and, with help from the musicians, learn to recognize musical motifs that will reappear during the performance. This introduction will be presented bilingually in Italian and German. Another special opportunity will take place on September 6 at the Bolzano Municipal Theatre (time to be confirmed), when the public is invited to attend the orchestral rehearsal for the Busoni Competition’s grand final. Since the final performance, accompanied by the Haydn Orchestra, is traditionally sold out and broadcast live on Italian television and streamed worldwide, this rehearsal offers young music lovers a rare chance to experience the intensity and behind-the-scenes atmosphere of a major international event. The theatre will be abuzz with activity, as the RAI sets up its equipment and prepares for the live transmission. Broadcast professionals will be on hand to explain how a concert is brought to audiences across the globe.
