From here we hike with our hiking guide Helmuth along the posttrail to the Oberspisser mountain farm, where we can immerse ourselves in rural life. In the meantime, the table is set for lunch (not included). We reach our third stop, the Fallerhof, via the posttrail. A tasting awaits us here and together we immerse ourselves in the world of the farm. The day ends with a hike back to Laion. Andrian’s chestnuts from the chestnut grove of the Schlossbichl hill are roasted on open fire. Have you ever tasted South Tyrolean chestnuts? In autumn, when the chestnuts fall off the trees, they are collected and roasted by Hans’ skilled hands over open fire. The roasted chestnuts are offered hot in paper bags for take-away or to be eaten on the spot. They taste particularly delicous with a glass of must, wine or apple juice. On top of that, sweet traditional and modern chestnut specialites are served. You won’t forget these simple yet pleasurable moments – we promise!

More than 60 vintage tractors, including 40 "Porsche-Diesel" tractors and 5 Porsche-Diesel Master tractors from various years of construction, can be viewed in the tractor museum. With our hiking guide Helmuth we start at the village square in Laion and hike over the Walther from the Vogelweide trail towards Novale. We visit some stations about its history and make a short detour to the birthplace of the famous Minnesinger. Arriving at the Castle Forte, we visit the former home of Oswald von Wolkenstein, one of the most impressive castle complexes in South Tyrol. History, Traditions and Wine Culture During this personal tour with wine connoisseur and host Walter, you'll gain fascinating insights into the history and traditions of winemaking in the Burggrafenamt region. As the name suggests, this visit is an experience for all the senses, with many varied highlights to explore at the Rochelehof adventure cellar. As part of the Lamb Weeks of the "Villnösser Brillenschaf", an afternoon of handicrafts is organised. For children from 6 to 12 years. Leaves in hues of gold and scarlet-red begin to dot the mountains, and the aroma of grapes, ripened by the summer sun, still wafts through the vineyards. This is the environment in which the Törggelen tradition was born: the farmers would invite friends and neighbors to their wine cellars and cozy Stuben parlors in order to celebrate the crushing of the grapes. Today, in keeping with authentic practice of the tradition, chestnuts from neighboring groves are served together with homemade wine, and visitors can sample local specialties. As part of the Original Törggelen event, rural taverns known as Buschenschänke have been selected that meet the quality criteria of the Red Rooster brand. This year there are 18 taverns: located in the Isarco/Etschtal Valley, around Bozen and Meran, and along the Wine Route. The taverns in the Isarco/Etschtal Valley are connected to one another by the Eisacktal Chestnut Trail ("Keschtnweg"). Inauguration The bonfire of chestnuts, or Keschtnfeuer, will be lit at 7 p.m., kicking off the Original Törggelen event at all nine Buschenschänke taverns. In addition to serving fine wines, roasting chestnuts and preparing local specialties, the farmers will conduct tours and wine tastings starting at 6 p.m. Advance bookings are required at the participating farms (limited number of participants).

In Villanders, processions are an integral part of religious and cultural life. On special church holidays such as Pentecost, Corpus Christi, the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the Assumption of Mary, and Rosary Sunday, the village community walks through the streets in a procession after Holy Mass. They are accompanied by the Villanders brass band and the “Anton von Gasteiger” rifle company, who lend the traditional celebrations a dignified and atmospheric character.

The hiking guide will accompany you on this easy circular hike through mountain pine fields to the demonstration distillery at Marzuner Schupfe. Here, you’ll gain an interesting insight into the distillation process, from the mountain pine to the essential oil. For the lunch break, a mountain hut will be visited alternately. Valburga in Val d’Ultimo to the starting point and back. Departure at 9:00 AM from S. Valburga (Tourist Office). The shuttle will make the same stops as the public transport service. On October 10 at 7 pm, Museion is proud to open the first retrospective in Italy dedicated to the work of Nicola L. (b. 1932, Morocco; d. 2018, USA). From the 1960s onwards, the French artist developed an equally playful and activist practice. Blurring the boundaries between various media such as sculpture, painting, drawing, collage, performance, and film, her work is imbued with subversive wit and the ideals of equality and collectivity. As part of the new Museion research line, THE SOFTEST HARD, the exhibition celebrates art as a social and urban practice of non-violent resistance and as an invitation to connect in times of crisis.

The Taufers market - small, cosy and good The traditional autumn market in Taufers in Münstertal is back. It will take place again on 11 October 2025 at the Fliri Dane square in the village centre. Experience the “Almabtrieb” in Terento! The ceremonial driving of cattle and sheep from the green pastures back to their home farms and warm barns is a long-standing tradition in Terento. For over 100 cows, calves and sheep this event marks the end of their stay in altitude where they enjoyed the fresh mountain air, tasty grass and cool nights. The animals are adorned with bells, wreaths, fresh flowers and ornate whetstone holders and they are driven down the valley by their herders. Plünderfuhren (procession floats), Goaslkrocha (whip crackers), Schuhplattlern (folk dancers) und and musical entertainment.

Farmer Andreas from the Ganthalerhof in Hafling shows you how it's done: together, you'll bake delicious bread in the traditional farmhouse style. Along the way, Andreas will share interesting facts about agriculture and the art of bread baking. Afterwards, you'll get to taste the food you've prepared.

With the right know-how and the right equipment, the risk of an accident can be reduced or avoided - the certified guides from SAAC show you on the bike what is important in terms of accident prevention. Both theoretically and practically, the participants are taught the most important safety aspects, a correct riding technique and the right choice of material and equipment. Therefore, on 12/07 and 13/07/2025, and on 04/10 and 05/10/2025, every bike-interested person has the opportunity to deepen his knowledge and to refine his technique.  A "special edition" of the SAAC Bike Camp will take place too on Kronplatz/Plan de Corones, namely the "Girlpower Bike Camp", especially for women. Anyone who is at least 14 years old and wants to expand and force his bike awareness can participate!
