For a long time it was very difficult to reach Terenten from the valley. For hundreds of years the village people had to look after themselves. The farmers and craftsmen provided food and clothes. Almost every farm had its own mill. However, only few of them are still fully functional. The educational mills path leads along Ternerbach River. During a 1,5 hour hike you walk past 7 renovated corn mills, some of which are up to 500 years old. This is where farmers used to grain corn into fine flour, and sometimes still do. During the summer months one mill is open to the public every Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No registration required.

The Jaufenburg Castle is always open on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During this time, free mini guided tours are offered in German.

This excursion is a great opportunity to learn all about the life of mountain farmers. After a one-hour walk to the farm, you can try some freshly baked typical farmer’s bread straight from the old stone oven. The hike will then resume and lead you to the mills’ valley in Terenten, where you can see a collection of ancient grain mills as well as the exciting earth pyramids. Discover Lana - welcome tour. Every Monday, guests are welcomed in front of the information office in Lana, the weekly programme is presented followed by a tour of the historic centre of Lana. You will receive useful information about the holiday region of Lana (countryside and people, hiking, excursions, visits to restaurants, fruit and wine growing, etc.) and learn about interesting monuments from eight centuries. Christoph Gufler, who has published numerous books on "South Tyrolean regional studies", will be happy to answer your questions, starting at the Lana information office, 10.00 am.

Shuttle to the Nörderberg mountain – parking lot Kreuzbrünnl: Not in the mood for the narrow and steep mountain roads in South Tyrol? Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday a shuttle bus will take you from Naturno directly to the Kreuzbrünnl parking lot, starting point for wonderful hikes to the alpine pastures of the Nörderberg mountain, the Monte S. Vigilio or the mountain station of the Aschbach cable car. Alternatively, a shuttle from Kreuzbrünnl will take you back to Naturno. The return trip must be booked separately.
