As always, customs and traditions are still lovingly cultivated throughout South Tyrol and also in Steinegg. Without exception, this includes the rustic presentation of the Schuhplattler group, traditional folk dancing and the finest brass band music. This is exactly what we present to you at the "Rustic Folklore Evenings" in Steinegg. So that old traditions are not forgotten and so that our guests can get to know the country and its people from a different, new perspective.

Our journey begins with a drive through Val Gardena to the Sella Pass. Upon arrival, we start our hike towards the Rifugio Sasso Piatto. The path gently ascends on an alpine road, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Dolomites. Then we walk through gentle green meadows and finally reach the Friedrich August hut, where we take a break. From there, the path continues level until the Rifugio Sasso Piatto, from where the descent to Monte Pana begins. Starting from Laion by bus, passing through Chiusa, we reach the Alpe di Villandro. The hike begins once we arrive at the parking of the Gasser hut. The path leads us to the Rinderplatz hut, passing by Mount Samberg and Mount Pfundres. Upon arrival at the Villanders mine, we visit one of the most important mining areas in Tyrol. The impressive tunnels and historical artifacts provide a glimpse into mining history. After the visit, we return to Laion. In the lovingly furnished rooms, chambers and laboratories, children and adults listen to the exciting tales of a storyteller in German language. The matching historical rooms bring the stories to life and create a very special atmosphere. With the right know-how and the right equipment, the risk of an accident can be reduced or avoided - the certified guides from SAAC show you on the bike what is important in terms of accident prevention. Both theoretically and practically, the participants are taught the most important safety aspects, a correct riding technique and the right choice of material and equipment. Therefore, on 12/07 and 13/07/2025, and on 04/10 and 05/10/2025, every bike-interested person has the opportunity to deepen his knowledge and to refine his technique.  A "special edition" of the SAAC Bike Camp will take place too on Kronplatz/Plan de Corones, namely the "Girlpower Bike Camp", especially for women. At the 'Bauer am Stein' farm in Foiana 70 goats white goats stretch out towards you, waiting to be stroked. Farmer Karin explains how these lively ruminants are fed, milked and cared for. As true gourmets they prefer to eat fresh grass and leaves, but they also get some tasty snacks made especially for them. After the birth of the first kid, the mother goat gives milk. She is milked twice a day and, unlike cows, has an cows, she has an udder with only two teats. If you want, you can taste the milk, also called 'white gold'. From Laion, we take the public bus to Ortisei. Our tour begins with a ride on the funicular to the Resciesa mount. From the mountain station, we take the path to Cason alpine hut, where we have dinner (not included). After dinner, we hike with our guide Herbert to the summit cross of Resciesa, at an altitude of 2,280 metres. There we can enjoy a breathtaking sunset.
