On October 10 at 7 pm, Museion is proud to open the first retrospective in Italy dedicated to the work of Nicola L. (b. 1932, Morocco; d. 2018, USA). From the 1960s onwards, the French artist developed an equally playful and activist practice. Blurring the boundaries between various media such as sculpture, painting, drawing, collage, performance, and film, her work is imbued with subversive wit and the ideals of equality and collectivity. As part of the new Museion research line, THE SOFTEST HARD, the exhibition celebrates art as a social and urban practice of non-violent resistance and as an invitation to connect in times of crisis.

Experience the “Almabtrieb” in Terento! The ceremonial driving of cattle and sheep from the green pastures back to their home farms and warm barns is a long-standing tradition in Terento. For over 100 cows, calves and sheep this event marks the end of their stay in altitude where they enjoyed the fresh mountain air, tasty grass and cool nights. The animals are adorned with bells, wreaths, fresh flowers and ornate whetstone holders and they are driven down the valley by their herders. Plünderfuhren (procession floats), Goaslkrocha (whip crackers), Schuhplattlern (folk dancers) und and musical entertainment.

With the right know-how and the right equipment, the risk of an accident can be reduced or avoided - the certified guides from SAAC show you on the bike what is important in terms of accident prevention. Both theoretically and practically, the participants are taught the most important safety aspects, a correct riding technique and the right choice of material and equipment. Therefore, on 12/07 and 13/07/2025, and on 04/10 and 05/10/2025, every bike-interested person has the opportunity to deepen his knowledge and to refine his technique.  A "special edition" of the SAAC Bike Camp will take place too on Kronplatz/Plan de Corones, namely the "Girlpower Bike Camp", especially for women. Anyone who is at least 14 years old and wants to expand and force his bike awareness can participate!

Idyllically located churches and chapels, richly adorned monasteries, castles and fortresses: on Saturday, 11 October, and Sunday, 12 October 2025, the Romanesque Days offer a rare opportunity to discover an exciting art period in many different ways. A total of 33 cultural sites across South Tyrol and nearby Switzerland will open their doors for free guided tours. Step into monastic life of the past, explore chapels usually closed to the public, discover artistic treasures in castles and fortresses, and listen to music and texts from ancient manuscripts – these and many other extraordinary experiences await during the Days of Romanesque Art. Through exclusive and free guided tours, visitors can admire hidden beauties and historical secrets of well-known or lesser-known monuments and sacred buildings from the period between 950 and the mid-13th century. On this special occasion, the castle chapel at Hocheppan Castle also welcomes all those interested. Free guided tours take place every half hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Considered one of the most important Romanesque monuments in South Tyrol, the chapel impresses with its valuable frescoes. The wall paintings, only fully uncovered in 1926, date back to the first decade of the 13th century. In addition to religious motifs, they also include rare secular depictions, such as a hunting scene on the outer wall. Particularly famous are the frescoes of the foolish virgins and the "dumpling eater" – the first known pictorial representation of Tyrolean dumplings. The Days of Romanesque Art offer a unique chance to discover South Tyrol’s cultural and historical treasures and to experience the fascinating architecture and artwork of the Romanesque period up close. For a week in autumn, everything revolves around the apple, giving rise to a series of events. The Apple Festival is held on the second Sunday in October and is the climax of the autumn celebrations in Natz. The highlight is a big parade and the awarding of the Apple Queen title.

The Gollimarkt is a traditional market that takes place on October 16 (St. Gallus' Day) in the center of Mals. The Gollimarkt was established together with the Georgimarkt in 1642 on the occasion of the elevation of the village to a market town by Archduchess Claudia de' Medici.
